  1. Where are they ordering them from? And for how much (any extra costs)?
  2. ^ This. Get one like I've got on my L96, cost me £40 from the forums here, it's a UTG 4-16x50 full size AO scope, with a 3" sunshade for extra-awesome-looking-ness, but serving no purpose.
  3. The day before going urban, my L96 starts shooting really nicely, and my M16 starts playing up really badly. May have to use the pistol all day tomorrow...

  4. As usual, doing last minute work on my L96 before tomorrow's skirmish. The air seal difference between the ASPUK and PDI hop units makes an 80 FPS difference apparently...

  5. Taken a few pictures now I'm home to show how it goes, this is in my M16, but it's the same for pretty much any gun; R-Hop patch on its own: http://i.imgur.com/MR1tSwN.jpg Hop rubber with the inside 'nub' removed: http://i.imgur.com/DpI53MA.jpg And the R-Hop patch over the hop window on the barrel: http://i.imgur.com/dgeZSAB.jpg Then you just put the hop rubber on as normal, and use a flat, wider and longer nub rather than the regular rounded ones. I got the R-Hop patches from AirLab, here; http://www.air-lab.co.uk/products/hop-up/z-kit.html You get three slightly different ones, with different outer and inner diameters, for different barrel fittings in different guns, but with careful filing using really fine sandpaper, you can get any patch to fit pretty much any gun quite easily, so if you get them and intend on only putting in one gun, then use the one that is second best fit first, as I messed up the best fitting one first try.
  6. R-Hop is basically a rubber patch that sits perfectly in your hop window on the barrel, and then the hop bucking goes over it, as normal but with the little 'nub' on the inside of it removed. Then rather than using a traditional nub, you use a soft one that is flat and covers the entire length of the R-Hop patch/hop window, so even pressure is applied across the whole R-Hop. The idea behind it is to provide longer and more stable contact with the BB, meaning it has more stable flight. Because of the extended contact, the BB has more backspin and therefore the hop doesn't have to be on as much to lift heavier BBs. There is also an ER-Hop, which is the same as the R-Hop, but with a lengthened hop window on the barrel and a lengthened hop unit, so they will have to be custom cut to use this.
  7. If your flash hider is the same as mine, then unscrew the screw that's at the bottom of it, and then see if the front part of it unscrews from the rest of it. Mine does and underneath that is a 14mm clockwise thread for silencers.
  8. Kinda getting the idea that snipers are not worth the time, effort and money you put into them.

At the moment, I actually want to melt it down into a ball of metal and plastic, and then throw that at someone annoying.

I'm actually considering selling it, along with all the spare parts. Got nearly 2 complete rifles, plus a spare set of internals in total.

      What's wrong with it Liam?

  9. Spent all day trying to fix this horrible scraping in my L96. In the process, I noticed the state of the hop rubber. Fitted a new one, put tape all over the place, put the gun back together. Scraping is now gone. Test fired it - new hop rubber is too hard, doesn't actually let BBs past it. *sigh*

It's the most hassle ever. That said, it's been good fun and I've solved the hop up problem, scraping problem and a couple of others too. Haven't had chance to test it yet, but am updating my review thread soon.

Given the opportunity, I would definitely go back and do that. Arden recently bought one from them and has had no problems with it at all, and it shoots pretty well, think it still has the stock barrel in it.

If they have an upgraded VSR for sale, I'm...

...going to be so tempted to buy it.

Why does this thing not tell me if I go over the character limit in comments!?

      Annoying isn't it? Lol

  10. And they look just as ridiculous, the first one even more so. A support weapon only looks nice if it has a solid stock.
  11. I know, but it looks out of proportion and like it should belong on an M4, not on a support weapon.
  12. If you replace that M4 stock with a proper, solid stock, then yes it is.
  13. So Finius, what made you choose one of the ones with the ugly stock?
  14. Kinda wanting a VSR, or a sniper that's somewhat lighter than my L96...

I've got the Warrior L96. Out of the box? Not very good really. Fully upgraded? Really good. On the heavy side though, arms ache after a day running around with it. Build quality of it isn't great either, the bipod lug on the front snapped off after a day of using a Harris style bipod.

Those things TM compatible? Planning to get rid of my SVD for an L96 or VSR asap...

Nah, they're a clone of the Maruzen Type-96, a lot of available upgrade parts.

  15. Anyone notice anything odd/different about this? http://i.imgur.com/PDum4ar.jpg

Nope, M16s are as they were when new, apart from the rails added to the G&P one.

The pistol holster on the sniper stock is what is different, an idea someone gave me. Tried it out today, worked pretty well :P.

Ed, the L96 and 1 M16 is mine, the other M16 is my mate's. Completed the L96 look quite a while ago.

Finius, I will probably never get a Russian weapon....

  16. Ed, you likely to go to Darren's local site, he go to yours or meeting at a site half way between kinda thing?
  17. Just finished reading it properly now, pretty good review, well written as expected . Shame about the feeding mechanism, it's the exact reason I didn't get one with realistic magazine placement, and I got the Well/Warrior over the Maruzen because it was cheaper and I've changed pretty much everything anyway.. The stock and bolt housing look much better quality than mine does, but I intend on replacing those two when I get round to it anyway. The rest looks on par, as I've replaced everything with PDI parts . If When you get the feeding mechanism sorted and get it fully upgraded, keep us updated on how it's doing, will be nice to see. Regarding the piston head, no it doesn't come off the stock piston. But with my LayLax piston, you need the accuracy cup head that pushes on the end of it. Otherwise you end up with a nice bit of metal sticking out the end where it clips on, and you have metal hitting straight onto metal when it hits the cylinder head. And, when you upgrade the power, get a spring that is more powerful than you want, then cut and file it down. I got an sp170, giving 590-600 FPS, then cut it down to give me 495-500 FPS. This makes the spring last longer (as it's not being compressed as much, in comparison to full length and compressed length, if that makes sense), and it makes the gun much quieter because the spring is shorter so the piston isn't slamming into the cylinder head as strongly as having a full length spring. If you go to the NAE 2013, make sure to bring it, I should be there, just waiting for work to make sure I've got it booked off (asked 5 weeks ago now!!).
  18. Just skim-read it as it's late and I really can't be bothered now, I'll read it properly tomorrow. Looks good though. I solved the problem with the rear of the bolt assembly coming loose on mine by putting a small bit of toilet roll in the bottom of the screw hole, which then means the screw stays tighter. Not sure if it'll work on yours, as it's more realistic, and it probably won't work if you have a "cocked indicator" as there'll be hole all the way through there and into the cylinder itself.
  19. Somewhat confused.. I've noticed Marksman has changed his display name to M_P. How? And can I change mine?

  20. Just received a new bi-pod for my L96, a long 0.05" Allen key so that I can actually adjust my L96's hop up without taking the gun apart, and a nice white and blue AFUK patch . Now waiting on a couple of hop buckings (replacement Prometheus hard and a PDI W-Hold) and some more R-Hop patches. This gun will look good, and it will shoot good. One thing I'm lacking is Velcro space on my gear. I have a Molle belt, with no spaces to sew patches. So, can you get Velco patches (the fluffy part) with Molle clips on the other side, so then I can put it where I want, and put patches on that?
  21. Ah, you must be new? I see you're not accustomed to the language of Craig yet. For a direct translation, read below: "For the last two f---ing months, I've had a friend, who has been going out drinking with me, and he always c--- blocks me. For example, I'll do all the hard work and he'll come over and say he needs to go. Tonight, to top it all off, the girl I have been after for six months was out drinking with us all. All I got all night was him doing the same s---, after he's been warned over and over. For the first time in ages, I've actually wanted to kill someone. I mean literally kill him and attend his funeral to smile at his grave. To stop what I just said becoming a reality (because I knew if one more person ticked me off, I'd snap again), at the end of the night, I gave him £20 and told him I'm going home instead of going to the local nightclub." If you still don't know what he's on about, then basically he's angry because his 'friend' keeps c--- blocking him and last night he had enough of it and came home from a night out early because of it.
  22. I also noticed the place was quieter.. it didn't seem normal. Also happy as today I decided I hate my phone, and therefore am buying a new one. This means I can violently destroy my old one. And, when PayPal decide to give me my money, I shall become an AFUK supporter as I said I would.. sorry it's taken a while. I only seemed to remember about it when I had no money..
  23. I think that's pretty silly to be honest. I probably wouldn't do it, I know having two flash hiders isn't much of a both on most guns, but the one on my L96 was £40. Also, what about people with silencers to cover extended inner barrels? Would they be expected to have two silencers, or to remove the silencer and put a flash hider on, but have an extruding barrel which could be damaged. By the second part "over 18s can buy an RIF with an orange tip that must be kept on at all times", do you mean without UKARA, and the UKARA registered players can have it without the orange, or do you mean for everyone, regardless of defence?
