The 'What have you just bought' Thread

It's the wrong way round to be able to see the trades, they're on the opposite side.. You're gonna love this then: on G&P's website, the M4 commando (RIS version and normal version) both have Marine trades . Although Wolf Armouries may have removed the trades, I know some US retailers do (fill in engraved ones with wax and burn off others). If you need RIS, why didn't you get the G&P commando with RIS? -

Yeah true, that's one reason my M4's going to be 95% G&P. It shouldn't be bad, I think the M16 you had was an older one as you seemed to have more problems with it than I did with mine. Also, yours had white trades painted whereas mine were engraved. It's G&P, it won't be a blank receiver! Why not build literally from scratch then, buy gearbox, motor, barrel, hop unit, everything separately? I doubt they are as true as everyone says, just keep it clean after every game and use high quality BBs. -

Getting the gearbox in my old M4, brute force and ignorance didn't work for a change, it just scratched it and snapped the selector plate.. Thought you didn't like G&P? -

Okay, I hate the wires in V2 gearboxes as they are. I always end up trapping them or something stupid. I can see this going badly.. I'll bear that in mind, not really a fan of having guns lock up on me. I've got that bit as the stock one snapped, so had to replace it . -
Tesco. They've paid me for a week's overtime that originally I was supposed to do. Then on the first day of it, they said I wasn't needed any more, so I didn't go in. I wouldn't mind if they'd just take off the extra from my next pay or something, but instead, I now owe them 5 days work.. Also, they're booked holidays for me, and asked me if the dates were okay. I had nothing planned for the dates and nothing planned on other dates, so said yeah. Now I want to do something some weekends, and I have no holiday remaining (as it's all booked) to take the days I want off. I must work at the least organised Tesco store. Ever.

There are sniper only servers on PC, where the use of any other weapon (apart from side arms and knives) results in getting kicked. Problem is that all anyone does is uses either a red dot or low-power scope and uses snipers like assault rifles. Sniper: Ghost Warrior has a multiplayer mode, which is supposed to be all about concealment, but they put the Mk12 Mod 0 in it, which is semi-automatic, so everyone just rapid-fires with that, and you can't see where any shots come from as all the weapons are silenced.

Yeah could be annoying. I've played hide and seek (kinda-like game) on wake island before. Was in squad team death match, 1 person in one squad and two squads full. Then everyone goes hide while the other person faces away. The person on his own has to knife all the other players, once knifed, they switch and join his team. Hiders aren't allowed to kill. Last man standing starts as the seeker. Took a while to find the last few guys though.

They restricted the M107 to single player only because if it was in multiplayer, it would be unbalanced and pretty much overpowered, and if they balanced it, then it wouldn't do much damage so would be like the other semi-auto snipers and unrealistic, so they left it out.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, will find out later . Could it be related to the hop? I've read that causing double feeds but not misfeeds. That's an idea.. Although it is good fun forcing things together . Also, how easy/hard is the ASCU to install? I plan on buying one this week or next, along with all my M4 parts as I'm getting money back from my laptop. -

Great, taking my mate's apart later today, keeps mis-feeding, on all mags. I think it may be the tappet plate or the nozzle, anyone know? -

The trigger in my G&P's so difficult to get to sit properly. They spring that returns it after shooting is so strong that when you try to put the gearbox together, as soon as you hand leaves the trigger, it jumps out its place. Love the connectors on G&P motors, simple rings with a screw. Stay on so much better than those other types -

I feel like that sometimes, but I've found that if you take it apart and put it back together again enough times, it works. Sorted my M4 gearbox the other day, the trigger would lock (as if it's on safe) when in auto position, now pulls perfectly. Although I have no gun to test it in.. -

What's up with it? Isn't it Ed's old one? -

Nope, pretty sure I haven't said it before. Amazon are pretty good to be honest, I cracked my Kindle screen, phoned them up and they sent me a new one free of charge, before I had even returned the old one! When I get my refund for my laptop, it'll most likely be spent on either my M4 build, or on a Sony VAIO laptop.. miss my old one -

It means my 7 month old laptop has a slight problem, so Amazon are offering me a full refund for it.. -

A couple of Motorola XTR446 Radios with headsets and push to talk. Total of £50 from eBay, which I thought wasn't too bad. Also, unbought (if that's a term, if not, then I just made it up) my ASUS N55SF for £750 -
That's alright then. Some games take ages, one server played a game of rush for a couple of hours, 500% tickets. Was on defending team and we held them off until about 20 tickets left, then let them plant. Until the last objectives, then we won . I like doing that on CSS. People get really angry on BF3, especially when I kill them through smoke, or snipe with an ACOG..
-
It'll be good. Does it have a time limit? Now I just need to work out how I'm going to spend £40 on Premium..
-
Sounds good to be honest, I love playing it on CSS, nice to see it in a more 'controlled' game, if you know what I mean.

Anyone who has Premium or the CQC DLC, what is "Gun Game" (or whatever) game mode?

Didn't the 'take it apart and reassemble it multiple times' method work to sort the over-hop issue? I also work on the same logic - spend money, then hope work need me for overtime. -
Yeah, it can be quite annoying, but it's not too bad on PC. It gives options like pistol/knife only, also ability to ban the use of certain weapons (like explosives on Métro). After finding a few servers I can play, I keep getting kicked with this message: "Discconected: Something went wrong" - no sh*t, otherwise I'd still be playing!
-
Seem to be getting kicked from a lot of PC BF3 servers. With this as the reasoning: "Game disconnected: you were kicked by an admin. Stated reason: You KDR EXCEDING more than 2.5".
-
Someone's telling porkies.. Anyone with any sense at all wouldn't do that. And if they did, other players and marshals would spot it instantly.

Since the latest update, I've had huge issues with connection quality. Before the release of Premium and CQC (or whatever it is..), I could connect to pretty much any server, no problem and have almost no issues in-game with ping around 30-50. Since the update, all the servers in the server list are showing 300+ ping, or not even showing any, apart from the rare few showing 30-50 like before. Sometimes I join a server it just disconnects me, with "Unable to connect to EA Online" or "Disconnected from Server" messages. Then clicking "retry" just tells me the server cannot be found, then I likely never see the server again. When I eventually get into a game, no matter what ping it showed in the server list, whether it's 30 or 700, I have one of the following: - Constantly high ping, 300-500+. - Fluctuating mid-high ping, 50 for a few seconds, then 300 for about 30 seconds, then back down to 50 again. This is every server I join. Regardless of location, I've tried UK, US, Russian, German, Japanese etc. servers, same result. It's not my PC or Internet connection. No other games do it, I get constant 30-40 ping on CS:S and other games. I'm not downloading anything, I've even disconnected everything else in my house from my router and tried at all times (peak and non-peak), which made no difference. I've re-installed Origin and BF3, which made no difference either. Restarted the router countless times and restarted my computer even more. With EA Support I got into a continuous loop of "Have you tried re-installing Origin and BF3", "Yes, it made no difference", "Try it again.". No help found on the forums either, all the moderators just say they'll let the developers know, even in 6 month old threads, so obviously they've doing nothing about it. Does anyone have this problem, or even better, a solution to it!? Any help at all would be amazing.
