  1. Welcome. If you're searching for a local site have a look at https://playairsoft.uk/
  2. All of which kneel before the dysentery brown gods of SADF kit
  3. One thing I've noticed since i don't get every weekend free anymore is that I'm far more picky about where i play and what I want from a site
  4. Righty so. In my experience it's horse riders who are the worst. We used to have them trying to ride through site on more than one occasion (despite there being no public right of way) at my old site and the riders couldn't understand how loud bangs and the horse potentially getting shot could ruin their day. It was only when threatened with us calling the police they would leave
  5. Well that's certainly a positive sign @son of dan your dad's right. Stop being a wus and ask her, the worst she can do is say no
  6. Well unfortunately there's only one way to find out
  7. I wouldn't say they're not worth it. For woodland games I try to carry a couple alongside my timed BFGs. For safety reasons sites will insist BFGs are thrown underarm below knee height (250g of metal flying through the air can do some damage if it hits someone, ask me how I know). The disposable pyro can be useful if you need to yeet it a bit further. As for smoke grenades, I just tend to buy whatever is available on site
  8. I know there's a separate thread for memes but I think this is a better fit here
  9. It's sat in one of the vehicles in the convoy at 7:51. I had to watch it a couple of times before spotting it
  10. That's a shame to see, the few times I've played at Rift sites they appeared to be well run. I'm surprised they'd be stupid enough to allow something like that
  11. There's a few options available for those of us who like a good bang at the weekend (fnarr) First up is the thunder flash. Probably the most common airsoft pyro, the most basic ones you simply remove the top and strike the fuse like a match before throwing. There are some which ignite via a ring pull but IMO this is just a gimmick and add unnecessary cost. Call me tight but I'm not spending a tenner a go for disposable pyro. As these are essentially fireworks sites shouldn't be supplying them to under 18s Second is the pea grenade. These are similar to the thunder flash but come in a more grenade like shape and are filled with dried peas to give a frag effect Next we have the blank firing grenade (BFG). These, as the name suggests, use a blank to make the noise and use either .209 shotgun primers or 9mm blanks. Some can also use 12 bore blanks but not many sites allow their use. They come in 2 versions, timed or impact detonated and both types have their advantages and disadvantages, eg the timed ones are more likely to go off but the delay may give players time to get behind cover whereas the impact ones don't but might not go off on soft ground. Legally the grenades can be bought by anyone but the blanks are over 18 only Gas powered grenades are available and are usually impact detonated do can suffer the same problems as impact BFGs on soft ground. Soft ground will also restrict how far the bbs fly if it does go off. Imo they're a bit crap and not worth it. Afaik there's no age restrictions on buying these Last we have TAGG grenades. These are fired from a launcher such as the M203, but unlike traditional moscart shells they launch a pyro which will go off either on impact or are timed. It's worth noting with these that they're relatively expensive and some sites don't allow them so it's worth checking before splurging out on them. I'm sure there's more and someone else will be along to fill in the blanks but I hope this helps
  12. It's fucking stupid of the marshal to do it and the site owner to even allow it. We play knowing we're going to get shot and staff understand the risks when entering the field, but the dog doesn't. Simply put the owner is a massive cockwomble (to put it mildly)and shouldn't be allowed to own pets. There's also the fact that if the worst does happen and the dog gets hit, nobody knows how it will react. It could easily think it's being attacked and go for a player who might not even be the person who fired the shot. Quite simply it shouldn't be happening and I for one would avoid any site which does allow it
  13. Send it back and get a refund or replacement. Opening it up will void any warranty and leave you with an expensive paperweight if you can't fix it.
  14. If you're opening up the gearbox it'll be easier to just replace the spring than cutting the original one
  15. That definitely sounds like the problem isn't the sight. How big are the groupings you're getting at the moment? How new is the gun? If it's new then it might be a case of simply cleaning the barrel as they often come with loads of grease and gunk in them
  16. Having reread the thread I think I may have got the wrong end of the stick. Without adjusting the sight is the point of impact in roughly the same place in relation to the point of aim? If so then that's the sight. If not then it's something else Also what size grouping are you expecting?
  17. No need to feel bad about how often you play, especially if you have other commitments like work or family. Anyone who expects others to make slinging plastic their main priority over more important things like family or being able to pay bills is simply a cunt
  18. A bit optimistic for a gun that's over 10 years old and came with a plastic gearbox
  19. If the hop up is set correctly then I wouldn't go messing with it. As Jim posted, that sounds about right for slinging very light plastic balls down what is essentially an electrical powered musket. What weight bbs are you using?
  20. This is what they call shrinkflation, as posted already it's a common trick in the food industry as customers are more likely to notice the price going up than the serving size going down. I remember hearing about a french supermarket which has started putting labels on the shelves of products that have done this. Its surprising the amount of things done by the big supermarkets and food manufacturers to make a bit more money where they either use psychology or just hope customers aren't paying attention
  21. And alot of that stuff is over priced low quality crap which starts to fail after a few uses
  22. No worries One of the things I like about this place is that we look out for each other and have no qualms with calling out bullshit when it appears
  23. It did strike me as odd that a well established shop would be using a gmail email address
