The 'What have you just bought' Thread
C-Diddy replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
You never know. Keep your eyes on the ads! Got the airsoft equivalent of ADHD when it comes to gear and loadouts...although I think that's just normal for airsofters isnt it? -

Loadout getting closer to completion with today's deliveries: Warrior Assault Systems Gen 2 Hydration pack in Coyote and Pentagon Raptor baseball cap, which probably won't be for skirmishing but it was only about £7 from UK Tactical Mechanix M-Pact gloves, also in Coyote and Blue Force Gear sling mount from Tactical Kit PTS EPS for the 416 and a bonus pack of paedo pellets from Dave's Custom Airsoft Still a few more bits and pieces to go to give me a few options for different plate carrier and/or chest rig setups, but going well. -
The Most Boring Noob Question - Knee Pads?
C-Diddy replied to 38super's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I've got a few pairs of Helikon trousers with the built-in internal knee pockets. Their foam inserts are pretty big so may be a solution? Got mine from Military 1st. -
Ah, yeah, must've skipped that post earlier in the thread. Thanks for the clarification.

ASG produced a shell-ejecting 1911. Not sure if they're still available new, but secondhand could be an option.

Ian was awesome. The sling i ordered was out of stock when he checked. Said he'd upgrade to next day delivery FOC when they came in later. When they were held up he offered me the ugraded padded sling for no extra cost and still next day delivery. Awesome service and the lines they stock are superb. As for the tight bore advice, thank you but I was being a dick in reference to the way the thread got waaaaaay off track. Now I am going to try and track an PTS EPS stock down. Anyone know of any reason they wouldn't be suitable for a TM NGRS 416? -

At the risk of getting dangerously back on topic, DPD just been and dropped these off: All bought from Tactical Kit and a massive thank you to Ian for his fantastic customer service. Why can't everyone be like that? Right, off to find the PTS EPS stock someone posted on here when this thread used to be about the shit people had bought, but in the meantime, can anyone tell me if a longer barrel is more accurate? -

For me it's all about getting out there, having a good run about and enjoying shooting people with toy guns. I take my guns and gear seriously, but that plays into my enjoyment of the hobby. I think alxndrhll was making the same point; run whatever you think is cool and enjoy yourself without thinking that you have to keep up with other people. Still cracks me up that someone (usually me!) who has decent gear and guns, will still get taken out by a first time rental in jeans and a hoody, and that's great. Hopefully he or she will think "that was fun, shooting that guy in the dick. I want to do this again" and our merry band grows -

Good points well made. I agree entirely about using whatever gun you like for whatever reason. Woodland with a shotgun or CQB with a musket, if you're having fun, do it. The longer the barrel the greater the range, has some truth to it, as does the weight of the BB. But, just as you don't see many people take a tee shot with a putter, it doesn't mean it can't be done. The results may be shit but you can have fun doing it. Airsoft should be a fun hobby. I think we get far too hung up on things like this...says he writing a comment at 0220 instead of getting some sleep. -

Not sure I'm into the whole mil-sim thing, but may well give it a go in future. I enjoy woodland and happy I switched up to the 416. Running an SA80 though? While they do have a special place in my heart, they also make me think of wearing a 5kg weight around my neck for a six hour watch and coming back from the range with SUSAT eye 😆 -

She's a stock! Very tempted by this. The standard SOPMOD stock is just so dull in comparison. Like the QD point and so much battery space. Yep, another thing to add to the list! Anyone aware of any issues putting this on the TM 416 DEVGRU? -
It's all about tweaking, finding out what works for you and, most importantly, whats comfortable. Although there are a lot of basic principles to form an effective firing position, if you're uncomfortable you won't be able to hit a cow's arse with a banjo. Definitely agree with slinging your weapon on the opposite shoulder, butt up, barrel down for an easier transition to pistol. As for twisties for your trousers? Do what you want pal. Tuck them in, blouse them like a paratrooper or iron creases in your rig so sharp you could shave with them. If you like how it looks, run with it 👍

I mainly play woodland, yes. I change things around a lot, but plan on using the TK45c more when we get to play again. I do like my 416 though, and recently had my M14 worked on by Luke at Negative Airsoft, so that definitely needs a run out. Now that is one heavy gun with a huuuuuge barrel. I picked up a 558 and G43 recently from Real Airsoft UK and have them on my 416. Bit of additional weight but balances out with all the fuckery going on at the business end -

I don't do a lot of CQB but thought that I'd give this a go in a change up from the usual ARP 9 type that everyone seems to run. Still can't decide on a sling for it. At the moment it's on a one-point but I like them less and less. A three-point in the old SAS MP5 style could work but I've had enough of three points tbh. Admin. The PEQ has a decent light on it and is not as heavy as the torch I use on my 416. Still making my mind up about though. The blue laser is different but lots of places don't allow you to use them, which I get. It does looks pretty cool though 🤣 Is that a G43 clone? -
I Might Need to Go for a Run.
C-Diddy replied to CrackCommandoUnit1972's topic in General Discussion
I generally keep fairly fit, with regular running and circuits (my metabolism seems to have gone on strike since I hit 40!) and I've still not touched alcohol since 3 Jan. However, Sod's Law has struck and, after having a persistent sore back, which stopped me running, I managed to see an actual doctor in the flesh last week. Turns out I have a slipped disc and a hernia. No phys at all, just stretches for three months now. Fuck you ageing! Still going to see how I get on when the sites open though 🤙 -

Echoed. Posted my new Warrior purchases in this thread. Only thing that disappointed me was the additional pistol mag pouches I bought. Got the double DA pouch and found that the retention was nowhere near as good as the elastic 5.56 pouches, and the strap was too short to fasten over the top of my Glock mags, and way short of the M17 mags. Sent them back today and will go with Blue Force Ten Speed instead. -

New Coyote Tan set-up starting to take shape. Still a couple of additions/substitutions to go, particularly with the mag pouches, but so far really happy with most of the gear from Warrior. -

I have a TK45C and yeah, really surprised by the weight. I have the stubby PTS foregrip and run a 551 clone and PEQ15 on it. Time to go back to basic; "Press up position, DOWN!" -
Late jumping in on this but can't speak highly enough of Luke. His knowledge, care, attention to detail, customer service, communication and prices are all fantastic. He took my M14 that had previously been converted to DMR (and ruined, frankly) and transformed it into an absolute monster. The guy doesn't stop working either, providing voice and video messages and letting you know exactly what he's doing, what he'd recommend and how he can save you money. Regarding length of time to respond, with me he was real quick, but this was late last year. Bear in mind the poor fucker caught Covid too.

Yep. I have two of the VX slings. That's why I'm happy to spend a decent amount now! They did their job and convinced me to stick to a two-point style, but nah. They're pump. I've looked at the padded ones. Look really comfortable and I may get one at some point. Vickers looking favourite atm though. And if you don't want to use a flame to seal the ends and don't have access to an electric hot knife, just heat a normal knife lor even a spoon handle, and use it to seal the ends smoothly without turning them black.

Yeah, seen. Think i'll give them a go. They look sturdy af, but will have to wait til next month. Just bought a brand new coyote tan loadout from Warrior (PC, chest rig, pouches, belt etc) so I need to have something to look forward to!
