  1. Good points well made. I agree entirely about using whatever gun you like for whatever reason. Woodland with a shotgun or CQB with a musket, if you're having fun, do it. The longer the barrel the greater the range, has some truth to it, as does the weight of the BB. But, just as you don't see many people take a tee shot with a putter, it doesn't mean it can't be done. The results may be shit but you can have fun doing it. Airsoft should be a fun hobby. I think we get far too hung up on things like this...says he writing a comment at 0220 instead of getting some sleep.
  2. Not sure I'm into the whole mil-sim thing, but may well give it a go in future. I enjoy woodland and happy I switched up to the 416. Running an SA80 though? While they do have a special place in my heart, they also make me think of wearing a 5kg weight around my neck for a six hour watch and coming back from the range with SUSAT eye 😆
  3. She's a stock! Very tempted by this. The standard SOPMOD stock is just so dull in comparison. Like the QD point and so much battery space. Yep, another thing to add to the list! Anyone aware of any issues putting this on the TM 416 DEVGRU?
  4. It's all about tweaking, finding out what works for you and, most importantly, whats comfortable. Although there are a lot of basic principles to form an effective firing position, if you're uncomfortable you won't be able to hit a cow's arse with a banjo. Definitely agree with slinging your weapon on the opposite shoulder, butt up, barrel down for an easier transition to pistol. As for twisties for your trousers? Do what you want pal. Tuck them in, blouse them like a paratrooper or iron creases in your rig so sharp you could shave with them. If you like how it looks, run with it 👍
  5. I mainly play woodland, yes. I change things around a lot, but plan on using the TK45c more when we get to play again. I do like my 416 though, and recently had my M14 worked on by Luke at Negative Airsoft, so that definitely needs a run out. Now that is one heavy gun with a huuuuuge barrel. I picked up a 558 and G43 recently from Real Airsoft UK and have them on my 416. Bit of additional weight but balances out with all the fuckery going on at the business end
  6. I don't do a lot of CQB but thought that I'd give this a go in a change up from the usual ARP 9 type that everyone seems to run. Still can't decide on a sling for it. At the moment it's on a one-point but I like them less and less. A three-point in the old SAS MP5 style could work but I've had enough of three points tbh. Admin. The PEQ has a decent light on it and is not as heavy as the torch I use on my 416. Still making my mind up about though. The blue laser is different but lots of places don't allow you to use them, which I get. It does looks pretty cool though 🤣 Is that a G43 clone?
  7. Echoed. Posted my new Warrior purchases in this thread. Only thing that disappointed me was the additional pistol mag pouches I bought. Got the double DA pouch and found that the retention was nowhere near as good as the elastic 5.56 pouches, and the strap was too short to fasten over the top of my Glock mags, and way short of the M17 mags. Sent them back today and will go with Blue Force Ten Speed instead.
  8. New Coyote Tan set-up starting to take shape. Still a couple of additions/substitutions to go, particularly with the mag pouches, but so far really happy with most of the gear from Warrior.
  9. I have a TK45C and yeah, really surprised by the weight. I have the stubby PTS foregrip and run a 551 clone and PEQ15 on it. Time to go back to basic; "Press up position, DOWN!"
  10. Late jumping in on this but can't speak highly enough of Luke. His knowledge, care, attention to detail, customer service, communication and prices are all fantastic. He took my M14 that had previously been converted to DMR (and ruined, frankly) and transformed it into an absolute monster. The guy doesn't stop working either, providing voice and video messages and letting you know exactly what he's doing, what he'd recommend and how he can save you money. Regarding length of time to respond, with me he was real quick, but this was late last year. Bear in mind the poor fucker caught Covid too.
  11. Picked up a new EOTech 558 clone with a G43 magnifier to add to my HK 416. Also started on a new Coyote Tan loadout to go with the USMC woodland MARPAT BDUs. Started with the Elite Ops PLB shooter belt from Warrior Assault Systems. The combo contains: - 1 x PLB Belt - 1 x Personal Medic Rip-off pouch - 1 x Universal Pistol Holster - 1 x Large Roll up Dump Pouch - 2 x Polymer Mag 5.56mm - 2 x Polymer Mag 9mm Pistol Also added an adjustable radio pouch for a Baofeng, also from Warrior. Next thing be the Recon plate carrier with Pathfinder chest rig and, once they’re back in stock, a drop pouch.
