  1. I got a C04 as an experiment and it works very well, hops 3.2g nicely, tough plastic body horrible RIS fore end. Only real issue I’ve encountered is the stock is slightly slower to change a battery in than the Krytac. Get one, it’s too cheap not to have a go with.
  2. Hooray for lazy journalism then. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jul/28/what-are-the-rules-governing-the-use-of-air-guns-in-the-uk
  3. What you’ve described is the pick ‘n’ pluck foam mentioned above.
  4. Aye, it’s the bottom option on the Submit Advert drop down menu.
  5. It looks like it’s been mistakenly flagged as a real air pistol rather than an airsoft version of a real air pistol. Air pistols are unusual things to make replicas of.
  6. Made a little dropper panel so I can move my admin pouch down, makes the front of my chest rig a little cleaner. 2” Velcro at the top, three rows of PALs at the bottom. Also a couple of very hi-viz muzzle covers.
  7. Just recently, a TM HK45 Tactical, Esstac double mag pouches, TM pistol speedloader (boy, is the difference noticeable to cheap Lonex ones), WAS universal holster. I got a crazy jet barrel and two hop rubbers to see if there is a significant difference from the already excellent TM setup. Also, a small pile of bits from Tacticaltrim.de to see about making some elastic mag pouches - shit brown bank robber rig, anyone?
  8. I thought, as we do not seem to be getting a game in the next few weeks up here, that I’d knock up a belt kit. This was largely based on me buying an HK45 Tac last week (Thanks Rob!). From left to right: - Pair of Esstac Kywi pistol pouches, they look too close to each other for the base plates in this image but once curved around a midriff they fit perfectly. - Pair of Esstac Kywi mid height M4 pouches for fast reloads. - Double M4 mag pouch with either an Odin speedloader or two more mags. - Tactical Tailor water bottle/GP pouch, for either water or assorted crap. - Emdom BOMB pouch for bangs or as a rough admin pouch. - WAS Universal holster with TM HK45 Tactical. I’ve not had the chance to use it in a game yet but it all works well in drills so far.
  9. Looking through the site, it’s apparent that TMC also use gen Austrialpin buckles with prices to match so I really would appreciate your thoughts when it arrives (I’ve put myself down for a restock notification too). As you say, you aren’t going to be parachuting off it or leaning out a chopper door and I’m willing to bet it’s at least as strong as a Webtex side release buckle as seen on a million 90s PLCE belt kits.
  10. I thought that was an astonishing price for a belt with an Austrialpin buckle (pretty much the cost of a buckle, in fact), looking at the photos though, it seems they are, let’s say very close tributes to the original. I’d be really interested to get one just to see how it stands up against a real one in a bit of back yard testing.
  11. Apart from a coyote sling and the optic, exactly my gun 👌
  12. How are you finding the light mounted there, do you get much flare or visual interference on your optic?
  13. What is going on with those offcut special pants?
  14. A Dynatex BFG. Such a clever bit of engineering and everything I’ve heard suggests I’ll still own it fully functional when I die.
  15. A Specna RRA C04, literally the cheapest RIF in the shop. Primarily to have as a back up or loaner, it’s also going to be destined for messing around with. First off I’ll leave it totally stock to see where it is in performance terms, it’s currently sending a 0.28g at 270 FPS so just under 320 FPS on a 0.2g. Hopefully it will hop the .28g on stock bucking. Future plans are to change battery terminals, shim, replace hop rubber and barrel then maybe improve the externals, add a better sighting system, see about some internal components, add a mosfet but all that will be after I have a clear idea of what the baseline is like. It’s an experiment in just what dirt cheap can do against something 3x the price.
  16. Yeah, it's a real killjoy of an act. You can't have a blowgun either 😒
  17. Well, shuriken are specifically illegal under the CJA 1988, unfortunately. You would need to get very good at the ninja-ing.
  18. That would be a much longer study 😂 But I do wonder myself, has the tech improved or have manufacturers found the formula that gets them as close as possible to being able to claim biodegradability while being as shape retaining as possible? I heard a podcast discussing the subject a wee while ago and I think that almost all BBs, whether Bio or not, are made in the same factory, the podcast mentioned HPA BBs as being particularly good and made in a different way but that's a nightmare of a search term so I can't find any sources for them in the UK to have a blat with. The one trend that is fairly visible on the measurements is that the measured diameter has consistently reduced (though within the error of the measuring system), this could indicate a softening of the BB shell and, if that is the case, there could be some increase in the deposits left in barrels? This is a ridiculously extended test though, if anyone had BBs they'd left in a bottle of water for three weeks and put them through a mag, I doubt barrel cleanliness is high on their concerns.
  19. Just to give a little data to this thread/topic and to see for myself if there is a significant difference in the behaviour of Bios in wet conditions or a difference between the behaviour of Bios versus Non-Bios, I put a small sample of whatever I had in the house into ziploc bags of water following my last post so these are figures based on the sample BBs being completely submerged in tap water for 18 days (it was night time so I'm counting only whole days). Following the submersion, I measured five BBs from each wet sample and five BBs from the original dry source bottle/bag. I don't have a massive selection and most of those are Bio so I don't have a great control group of non-bio BBs to select from. So, the hypothesis tested is that Biodegradable BBs swell out of spec on absorption of moisture. The attached table is a summary of the results and I think the conclusion I first draw is that there is no absorption or swelling of BBs after nearly 3 weeks underwater. The variation within samples appears greater than that between wet and dry in most cases. Also, I am pretty happy with my standard choice of Nuprol RZR 0.28g Bio 😉 There are obvious limitations to the test, primarily in that the sample sizes are small, I can't be fussed expanding the test but I'd be more than happy to applaud anyone who wanted to, I am happy to email the full data table with individual measurements, if anyone is that bored on lockdown. Another possible source of error is the measurement equipment, I used my general garage micrometer to do the measuring, it doesn't have a valid certificate of calibration and it has a stated precision of 0.01mm so the variation seen in most samples falls inside the possible error of the test equipment. Thirdly, this isn't a blind test, I knew what each sample was and so there may be subconscious bias but I doubt it. I really hope this lockdown ends soon, I clearly have too much time on my hands.
  20. The great thing about best booze wars is that they are easily solved. All the participants just remember the outcome they want, regardless of the actual events.
  21. Sounds like you are drinking that west coast muck and you have my sympathy, move a little higher into the hills and you’ll find the good stuff along the Spey. We sell it to anyone in the supermarket, especially those in need of enlightenment. I’d be more than happy to give you a 2 year handicap and put a bottle of 18yo Macallan against your Bushmills. I dare say I’d be happy to play for a draw in those circumstances 😊 And no, you didn’t, at least not that anyone can prove either way.
  22. Yeah, I know the type. I prefer single belts, the tendency for single layer inner belts to roll and the finicky lining up of the two layers has always kept me from making them. Also, although I’d never recommend it (I even actively discourage it), the slim possibility of a belt having to be body weight bearing always makes me use the strongest construction possible. I learn to live with having to thread/rethread fairly regularly. Makes me much more focussed on what goes where and why. That’s also why I use the 38mm buckle, it’s the same height as the 2” webbing so the whole belt works in the same belt loops.
  23. Just knocked up a new belt, thicker and stiffer than I’d normally make, used three layers of webbing for the main belt, meant there were five layers to attach the adjuster webbing, that’s a workout for the machine. Also added Velcro which is a new one for me, hoping it helps with the rotational stiffness.
  24. Has that ever stopped a regulation writer? 😂
