  1. Best all rounder please, Cqb and woodland sites mainly - I'd like 60m/196ft man-size hits ideally which is about what I was getting with the six g nub and TM bucking. Like I said I've ordered an Autobot 60° but apparently the diamond contact patch fouls the front of the hop window. I'll give it a try and post piccys when it arrives though. (Edit: 60 to 70 mm groups at 20 m range using super six g nub and TM hop rubber)
  2. So Modify tan was a no-go for me with a standard barrel and six g nub shooting sub 350, any other suggestions? I've got a ml Autobot 60° on the way but apparently that won't fit the window I've read? Getting 60-70mm groups on standard TM hop rubber, would like to improve on that please
  3. Gas at the moment in sub 10°c is Mapp pro, Buffer spring is TM, Bolt is Hao Econoline with TM weight to further reduce the weight and weighs 146g minus the weight of the TM buffer that is included in that, Buffer is an empty GnP number though I am planning on adding weights to it to help slam the bolt shut twice on impact (loose weighted) and finally I have a GnP lightweight bolt catch plate on order. Current performance:- https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lfmKJtQm-qGtE-EJLlXXixfkon5uT6nDdt7BJOOOb1o/edit?usp=drivesdk Providing all that works out then a hsb seems like a logical step although I do like to keep my (RoF) as realistic as possible without the hassle of picking up brass! Incidentally I've tried a modify tan with the six g nub and cannot see an improvement on the tm, what's your opinion on the Autobot 60° /six g nub/ TM barrel combo please? Cheers
  4. Definitely on my want list but I've spent way, way to much recently so I'm going to hold off with this for a bit. incidentally is this likely to affect bolt lock because it will have the same effect as winding the buffer tube even further in would it not?
  5. Now that I have a reliable bolt lock I'm going to pack out the bottom of the buffer tube with washers to compress the spring a bit more a' la' hsb buffer style.
  6. I've just been on to William Hicks who got me started on this GnP buffer thing - https://www.instagram.com/p/B-YS5wfnIkX/?igshid=xsep5da90p6o the problem in short was bolt lock could not be achieved because one, I'm a twatt and two, I had the buffer tube wound out far too far as I could not get bolt lock and ended up winding out to far causing the GnP buffer to get stuck - I'm now wound all the way in and it has solved my problem. He recommends a rubber washer at the bottom of the TM original buffer tube to prevent the rubber on the buffer being chewed up too. Another point he made to me was check the BCG screws are tight or you can end up like his mate here...
  7. Yep, I'm doing something wrong. Like I say I can get it to run ok with the g&p buffer but without bolt lock back.
  8. Too insane to feel the pain!

    1. Shamal

      Shamal

Well it is said that insanity is a natural analgesic.when you are mad with rage you can sometimes put physical pain out of your mind.which ,indeed ,you are at the time.

      Sigmund Freud 🤪🤪🥴

      Get well soon @Wild Weasel👍

  9. Well my G&p buffer kit arrived today and it must be me but I've had a nightmare with it, I've two options: either no bolt lock as the buffer tube is wound nearly all the way in with two threads remaining or wound all the way out so it can move up and down and jam on the lower causing a gas out then giving me the final two finger salute by stopping me from lifting the upper from the lower by protruding too far forward and not catching on the spring buffer retaining (stop?) So I have to remove the buffer tube to get it out. additionally the modify tan hop rubber with super G nub does not seem to be as good as the original tm one to me the best I can get is an 80 to 90 mm group at 20 m. I'm going back to the original hop rubber with super G nub. Winner winner chicken dinner! Suggestions, queries, comments? Or commiserations?
  10. Yeah, no way am I good enough to work on anyone elses gun, but thank you for the vote of confidence. I would in all honesty have a go yourself though as it is the final challenge on the MWS in my opinion! And if I'm able then I would imagine anyone could do it with the right tools, patience and above all a methodical work flow. Yep, I try and buy from eagle six where possible just for that very reason. Cheers
  11. Took apart and cleaned the trigger box last night for the first time thanks to the eagle six videos. A bit nerve wracking but I got through it ok. I'd advise having a half dozen containers or a parts organiser for anyone trying it for the first time as it's easy to get springs mixed up and the trigger itself has two similar but different coil springs in it. Hardest part by far was removal of the box from the lower which took all manner of gentle levering and tapping with a drift and rubber mallet. All parts were soaked in rubbing alcohol, scrubbed with an old toothbrush, dried, lubed with wurth advanced dry chain lube and assembled. I cannot believe how well built these weapons actually are though, the thickness off the lower walls must be 3-4mm and I'd have no fear stripping and doing it all again now. So well pleased with myself, that's the entire gun stripped to component parts, by me of all people!
  12. Do us a solid, whip out your buffer and see if the hao BCG has grooved the inside of your buffer tube where the roller has been please? Just trying to figure out off this is legacy wear or if it's today's testing results which are on the spreadsheet if interested.
  13. Happy days, Hao Econoline Geissele REBCG (Reliability-Enhanced-Bolt-Carrier-Group) in DDE colour and replacement barrel nut is out for delivery today, so I'm all set in 'shop mode for upgrade time. Hao 9.3" Civilian URGI handguard has had a light sanding down of the four bearing surfaces to ease the handguard on an off without so much effort as it is immensely tight and requires hammering with a rubber mallet to remove, the barrel nut has been replaced also as it has light scoring that could potentially make it tighter to remove. Upgrades already done are modify tan hop rubber (first time I've tried this so should be interesting coupled with the essential mws upgrade Super Six G nub.) Dp enhanced piston seal, mags are green gas modified ready. Angry gun nozzle fitted with R A Tech black Npas. My goals for this upgrade are better consistency and improved accuracy. As as man of science (choke, LOL) I'll be trying to prove my findings on the rif ballistic performance spreadsheet I/we have created so if anyone knows of a way of creating a printable target to obtain a standardized accuracy test and sharing over Google sheets that would be great so we can prove out these mods and sort of justify the fortune we've spent over lockdown and not waste money on kit that does not work/incompatible with other mods. I believe there's another file on this forum somewhere that has a list of what works and what doesn't. Admins is there any possibility of combining these two files please? Any constructive comments/ suggestions greatly appreciated. Link below to spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lfmKJtQm-qGtE-EJLlXXixfkon5uT6nDdt7BJOOOb1o/edit?usp=drivesdk
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, a moment of silence for the fallen please.
  15. Crap, Just found I've left my hammer cocked for 24hrs, should I panic and start ordering hammer springs or are they pretty resilient? Just spent my lockdown in 'shop mode all manner of small upgrade skulduggery an buggery - - Hao Econoline bolt. - Spare hao urgi barrel nut as the old one is tight as f#£&! - G&p complete drop in reinforced nose-all. - G&p buffer with tap washer spacers (credit William Hicks). Geissele type 47 tungsten buffer weight next month. - Modify Tan bucking - Dp precision enhanced sealing buffer. Any advice/comments on these parts welcome! Cheers
  16. I'll try that, I take it by threading it you mean just drill a 3.5mm hole and wind it in slow and careful? Cheers
  17. I'm none the wiser as which to choose, they all say 134a which is duster gas unless I'm wrong. Has anybody got one of these and ran it on green gas on or under 350fps with a standard 250mm TM inner barrel?
  18. Has anybody any experience with this set? ( G&p reinforced drop in complete nozzle set for Marui MWS grey) Seems a fairly cost effective way of dressing a second bolt carrier. Any idea if it will play nice with a r a tech npas? Fail that what g&p adjustable nozzle is recommended for standard inner barrel, on propane? Cheers hive-mind!
  19. Yep that's the one, it's a whole new upper though. I'd like one to save stripping the front end for a bucking change.
  20. I ended up with the wadsn dbal, does yours work on low power (green laser)? If you search for William Hicks on Facebook he's had extensive testing with the g&p buffer and he reckons the best setup is with a geissele automatics type 42 tungsten weight from Brownell's and has a video of him in 0°c mag dumping, zero cooldown. Also with a slight bit of movement in the buffers internal weights stops bolt bounce and jams. I've got the hao Econoline bolt enroute too, let us know when yours arrives and what you think please. Cheers.
  21. Just a quick note on the spread sheet that's out and about on the ether there are 2 different file tabs one with 3 Mags on and one with 6. For a complete test of what your kit is doing I'd encourage you to test all your mags so if you have one that is underperforming you can spot it - I run propane and I reckon I can tell if one mag needs some silicone as it doesn't shoot as well. Additionally I'm not the best at excel/sheets (this was made on sheets) and you reckon you can do a better job please feel free to customise your info. ( There is hidden formula to the right of 'max fps') Let's get a team collaboration going and nail down what works well and what doesn't. Cheers https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lfmKJtQm-qGtE-EJLlXXixfkon5uT6nDdt7BJOOOb1o/edit?usp=drivesdk
