  1. Thanks for the sight advice. Was aiming for 556 as low profile and eventually want to put a flip to side magnifier behind it but since bout half the price on amazon a 551 will do for now. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beileshi-Holographic-Anblick-Bereich-Helligkeit/dp/B01LXAI68A/ref=sr_1_3?rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1552659123&sr=8-3&keywords=holo+sight+airsoft&refinements=p_76%3A419158031 Any advice on suppressor diameter?
  2. I have found them maybe 10-20 quid cheaper on Patrolbase and others. But at least for my first RIF happy go somewhere local and spend a little more so i got somewhere to take it back if there are any problems
  3. Thanks for the info guys. Got my third day at Dogtag, Holbush this Sunday and see about my UKARA. Once UKARA comes through (dont know how long it takes to process) will head for nearby www.surplusstore.co.uk Shopping list: GC16 Predator https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/g-g-gc16-predator-hunter-green.html 2x 11.1 Lipo https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-11-1v-1450mah-30c-crane.html 1x Charger (Site has a charger and batt bundle option with the RIF so may just need the 1 spare Lipo) 1x Mid Cap Mag (Will get more in future but im not very trigger happy and there usually enough time to restock between rounds) https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/bb-guns/bb-gun-accessories/airsoft-magazines/electric-gun-magazines/electric-rifle-magazines/g-g-gr16-plastic-magazine-5798.html If budget allows: 556 Holosight (but if not ill be fine with Iron sights for now) https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-886-556-style-sight.html At some point id want to put a mock suppressor on the RIF but with barrel receded in the handguard cant slap just anything on it. Can anyone confirm what diameter suppressor would fit?
  4. Damn have on the same site but the 1450mah there are 30C https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-11-1v-1450mah-30c-stick.html https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-11-1v-1450mah-30c-crane.html Found these may do: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11-1V-800-to-2600mAh-Airsoft-LiPO-Battery-All-Sizes-Custom-Connector/121637306533?hash=item1c522600a5:m:ms0SkgaomtCN52QteA5f1Fw&frcectupt=true https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Airsoft-11-1v-1450mAh-20c-Li-Po-Battery-Vapextech-LP210/220806966404?hash=item33691eec84:g:-PEAAMXQKAtRJfQ3
  5. Thanks guys thats good to hear so 11.1v Li Po less than 25C. Ive also seen stories about trouble fitting LiPo in tube with the mosfet. Can anyone confirm if either these will fit? https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-11-1v-2600mah-20c-crane.html https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/nuprol-11-1v-2600mah-nunchuck.html Full auto shouldnt be a problem for me as im not very trigger happy and tend to sit on semi so hopefully the mosfet will last.
  6. Ive been looking at a G&G CM16 Predator as a first RIF but not having much joy finding recent reviews. Everything i find is about 3 years old with some complaints of issues with MOSFET and lots of having to send back on warranty or refunds. Has anyone purchased one of these in the last 3 months or so and can confirm if the initial issues have been resolved? Some of what ive seen says that to begin with the Predator supported various volt Ni-Mh and LiPo but you now have to run with 11.1v LiPo. Can anyone confirm this is the case and if so recommend batts that will fit the small stock? I like the idea of the Predator as a first RIF with MOSFET and ETU for some future proofing and ill hardly have to touch the internals but if its just going to cause me loads of hassle id rather go for Raider 2.0 and slowly upgrade it.
  7. Ooh sorry. Hope it's just easy to repair faults rather than full on broke
  8. Dogtag, Holmbush was lots of fun. Everyone friendly and helpful, rental gear was ok. I took a rag with me expecting fogging up goggles but they use a full face mesh mask. G36 rifle wasn't as inaccurate as I expected a rental gun to be but can see being outshot and outranged by player rifles. So was good they grouped all the rental players together so on a level playing field. Not terribly bruised, whacked my knee with a YOLO dive into a bush but it got me the kill Staff were great with lots of positive feedback for calling hits. Next buy for me: -Knee pads -Mask and goggles. (Can anyone recommend a mesh mask that would work attached to a fast helmet. Helmet is on to buy list later but want to able to attach mask and clip it on/off) -New legs. Mine feel like lead and currently not happy with stairs Ooh and got a UKARA form cheers E21A
  9. Thanks for all the advice guys. Saw Dogtags next game is tomorrow so booked for a half day. Rental gear will do for now but sounds like first buy needs to be own goggles and mask.
  10. Hey there, Recently my wife started nagging me to get out the house and get some exercise. I find running in circles pointless so thought hey theres an airsoft place down the road in Holmbush lets check it out. So im looking to go down sometime in the next few weeks. I have: Some boots Some get muddy trousers Ratty old hoody. Rental gear will be fine for a while and i dont want to go nuts but eventually ill want to get my own rifle. (And anyway as i understand to go about getting a rifle i need to register after 3 games over at least 2 months) Ive been doing some preparation research and been seeing alot of suggestions for a G&G CM M4 as a good beginner gun. Ive been looking at some i found on Patrolbase but have some questions: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-combat-machine-cm16-raider-l?pv=2439 Looks like a good cheap start point but surely at some point will want to add a sight and wont the stock front sight get in the way? Can this be removed? https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-g-combat-machine-cm16-raider-2-0?pv=5103 Looks like an upgrade of the above and should be able to remove the stock sights https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-combat-machine-cm16-r8-l?pv=5063 I like that it comes with a sight. But unsure about the rail system? Depending on the time frame i may end up splurging a bit higher for something like: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-cm16-combat-machine-series-predator?pv=6744 https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-cm16-sr-series-combat-machine?pv=1169 One concern i have is the various rail systems like RIS or MLOK do these limit things in that you need to get attachments that are compatible with the particular rail system or are they interchangeable? Also it looks like the lower priced weapons run on a lower voltage and is this something that will be a limitation or can be upgraded in the future? Basically my main aim is for something that will serve as a beginner rifle out of the box but has room for upgrades to last. I dont want to spend £150-200 on a gun that has limitations and will need replacing 6 months later. Also has anyone had any experience with https://www.surplusstore.co.uk/ near Crawley do they know their stuff? Thanks for the help. Wire2k
