I wouldn't use T-Rex Arms as a good painting example! I watched his YouTube video out of curiosity and have never seen anyone hold a rattle can an inch away from what they intend to paint and just spray away without a care in the world! ? It didn't do my OCD any good, but then again I regularly paint using 2K with a proper spray gun, in a paint booth at work so my opinion is a little biased...

Here's another photo of my URGI build with the aforementioned Magpul SL-K stock! IMO it's superb and suits the smaller 10.3" build with its compact low drag design much better than the CTR. I'd like to compare it with the SL though and see how fits in the middle? Great write up about the SL and size comparison between all three here. P.S you can add a QD sling point by fitting a Magpul M-Lok QD point through the sling loop slot, granted its not ambi, but you can't have it all. ? https://thereptilehouseblog.com/2021/01/17/review-magpul-moe-sl-stock-review/ As for my MRE I've fitted some obligatory KAC style rail covers which just suit the rail perfectly! At the same time I also installed a Wiitech KAC style trigger guard to compliment the test of the Knight's goodies. Picked up a Vortex Strikefire 2, but then a day later a friend of a friend contacted me regarding a genuine Eotech 551 something I've been looking for to no avail... A very good price for a rare albeit used holographic sight but its the perfect cherry for this MRE cake! ? Updates to follow of course and there's still a few more bits to get, but I'm really pleased with it's progress I just want to get out and bloody use it!

I can confirm the Magpul enlarged mag release button definitely doesn't fit the TM mag release. Different threads for sure. ? Currently got one sat in my parts box gathering dust...

A mate of mine uses a Vision King short dot on his GHK based DMR and hasn't had any issues with it whatsoever regarding losing zero etc.

Thank you mate. ? A genuine Eotech 551 is as rare as hens teeth! I lost out on a Aimpoint Comp M4 on eBay which was annoying, and was looking at a Comp M2 for sale via Instagram but I just can't justify in my head putting down £350 plus on an old optic of unknown age with no warranty whatsoever. So instead although obviously not correct due to its age etc I'm leaning towards a Vortex StrikeFire 2 as it's almost identical to a Comp M2 but with all the advantages that come with a brand new optic and Vortex's VIP warranty.

Update on my MRE build... Early GWOT vibes! G&P Kac style suppressor, Hogue pistol grip, and Car-15 stock with the obligatory cable tied rubber pad. Also fitted the excellent SixG super nub ordered from Dave and received very promptly, cheers bud! ?

Thanks bud, I'm really pleased with it so far! I've got a Hogue and an Ergo pistol grip on order so will see which I prefer, but your right that angle can't compete with the likes of a Magpul K2!

MWS No 2 build progress:- KAC MRE Kinda when down a different path than a modern 416/Clay build! Sorry to disappoint those waiting for glorious HAO based 416 goodness! I've always loved the MK12 and whilst researching and toying with going down that route, I stumbled across the Knights 'MRE' rail which was used by CAG many moons ago! As soon as I saw it I knew that's the rifle I wanted to build, so using a few G&P parts and some bits I already had going spare. The G&P ambi selector and Knights style ambi mag release both work perfectly! Angry Gun could learn a thing or two! It's not finished yet, as there's a few more bits like the stock, grip, and the fabled KAC rail covers to go on. Then there's tricky decision on what optic/mount to fit. Either a short dot or an old school Comp M2/M4, maybe even an early Eotech 551? Will keep you all updated as things progress. ?

You just know that's going to be a lovely kit! I'm sure they will sell very well.

Thanks mate, I hope so! From what I have read there's a few external parts needed like a stock and a grip which of course are down to personal preference. Internally the inner barrel and hop unit are used, and everything inside the lower receiver including the buffer and spring. Looks like forward assist is used also. I will try and get plenty of photos up before, after and during the build.

Totally understand why you've got 3! I've been thinking about building a 14.5" for my next MWS I agree its one of the nicest rails out there, and anything else seems far too bulky. Although the allure of a 14.5" 416D build using one of HAO's conversion kits is very strong! ?

URGI update... Although I loved the all black look I really wanted to break up the lines of the rifle and do something a little different. Picking up inspiration from an FBI HRT rifle I got a few key parts Cerakoted in Olive Drab Green and I'm really happy with how it's turned out! This build is now complete and I'm itching to start the next! Maybe some green magpul's to complete the look!? ?

In my opinion heating the mags is pointless... It doesn't take many shots combined with those low ambient temperatures to bring that mag resembling something like an ice pack! ?

Mine was fit and forget! ? Sorry I can't add anything helpful... Not sure if it makes any difference or whether yours was exactly the same, but my G&P buffer came with a fairly dense black rubber end cap rather than the yellow one shown in many of the photos.

Fitted the HAO bcg yesterday, and had a good look at the inside of my buffer tube. Prior to fitment there was no witness marks on the inside of the tube that I could see and again after fitment and a couple of mags put through it for testing I couldn't see any obvious wear. Admittedly I was short on time as thus was carried out on my lunch break at work (boss is a fellow airsofter and I work in a workshop on a farm so all good!) So i haven't been able to test it thoroughly. On the face of it though all seems okay, although trying to get the upper plastic section that holds the nozzle with that spring was bloody tricky! ?

Yeah man I can check on Monday when I get chance to fit the HAO BCG. I will check before and after fitment. ?
