  1. Thanks. I thought this was the case but needed reassurance.
  2. Slower cycling? Less gas efficiency? Your experience has been very different from mine.
  3. I am not trying to get round the VCR. I wouldn't necessarily sell both parts - for example maybe just an upper which I had replaced with custom parts.
  4. When you say "lower performance" don't you really mean lower power? Very few metal airsoft pistols have the performance or reliability of TM guns. Plastic pistols are fine over 10 to 20 yards (even thirty). That is the sort of range that even real pistols are designed for. Not everybody can shoot like Hickok 45.
  5. Am I right in thinking that UKARA or any other defence would not be required by the seller from a buyer provided the upper and lower were sold separately, and to different people? I know that parts can be sold to people without a defence, but would what is effectively half a pistol be legally regarded as parts?
  6. Thanks for the reply. They are indeed best with their plastic slides.
  7. I understand that it is in the nature of ABS to become shiny quite quickly, and that there aren 't really any fixes for it except painting and repainting. There are plenty of slide kits for TM pistols but not many polymer custom frames. Guarder has plenty for TM Glocks, but that's about it. For other pistols like HKs there doesn't seem to be anything. So do owners just have to use paint or put up with shiny plastic?
  8. I have watched plenty of video reviews of TM plastic pistols over the years. Retailers generally advise the use of 144a gas with them. However quite a few reviewers say things like: I use Abbey Predator Ultra gas instead of green gas in my TM pistols. I have heard it said that the Ultra is not as powerful as green gas, yet I always thought Ultra was green gas - maybe not quite as powerful as something like Nuprol 2.0 but green gas nonetheless. I have also heard that Nuprol 1.0 works better with TM pistols than 144a. And is a bit more powerful. I know most owners go ahead and use Nuprol 2.0 in their TM pistols, but it wasn't my intention to get into a discussion about that. It is just frustrating that manufacturers don't put the psi of their gas on the cans. It would be a more reliable indicator of power than word of mouth. What makes one gas more powerful than another? I thought propane was the base ingredient in all airsoft gas.
  9. Thanks. Is your TM USP the compact or full size version?
  10. I suppose you are right. Thanks for the reply.
  11. I never skirmish my pistols and only use 144a gas. I always release the slide by power stroking it, avoid engaging the safety and never use the decocking mechanism. Fancied a more compact TM and have been considering the above. I know the HK is smaller but not unduly light for its size while the PX4 is satisfyingly hefty. I prefer the looks of the HK. In the end though reliability is the most important consideration. Which of the two would you choose?
  12. Thanks. Some retailers do sell them with trades intact, but probably not all.
  13. Has anybody ever bought one of the Marui USP full size or compacts or HK 45s that has had the trades removed by the exporter? Can they really be removed without disfiguring the gun? How do they manage to do it?
  14. I know that when the mag is removed the trigger will return to the forward position after it has been pulled. Unlike on other TM Glock models. Why is this ? And since WE gen4 Glocks are copies of the gen4 Maruis, I'm assuming that the trigger on the WE Baby Glock works the same way. Is this the case?
  15. Thanks for the reply, mate. I've seen that Guarder trigger before but can't get in black.
  16. Try the Swiss Arms universal holster, widely available in different colours and with either level 1 or level 2 safety.
  17. I know the trigger bows of the 1911 and hi capa are different sizes, but what about the actual trigger blades? I want to put a solid 1911 type trigger on my hi capa trigger bow. Will it fit and function ok?
  18. The TM USP gets excellent reviews.
  19. I am a huge pistol fan. At first they had to be metal to interest me. But metal pistols tend to go wrong sooner rather than later. And even the expensive ones are unreliable. The only one from my initial purchaces that I have kept is my WE Glock17 gen3. WE's G series are probably the best pistols they have ever produced. I finally bought a plastic TM hi capa and then put a metal slide and outer barrel on it and beefed up some of the internals. It's a nice looking gun and shoots well, but no better than the other TM pistols I subsequently bought and left stock. Marui pistols are now the only ones that interest me, and I have no interest in upgrading them. I am perfectly happy to run them stock on 144a gas. They just perform better than other pistols and they look so clean and well put together when you open them up. They may be plastic but they look much better than a lot of metal guns with their poor paint jobs that make them look like kiddies' toys. Wait until you can get another 50 quid together and get yourself a Marui. The TM FNX 45 for example will run rings round any other pistol I can think of.
  20. Recently changed the trigger blade on my TM 5.1. Straightforward job normally. However, with the slide fitted, the hammer refused to release when the trigger was pulled. Normally the culprit would be the sear leaf spring. However with the slide removed the trigger and hammer work perfectly. If I cock the hammer with my finger it falls when I pull the trigger. Even when the slide is put back on but not racked. But when I rack the slide to cock the hammer, the trigger will no longer release it. I was hoping not to have to disassemble the hammer unit, but I can only think the problem is to do with the disconnector. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
