Thanks. Some retailers do sell them with trades intact, but probably not all.

Has anybody ever bought one of the Marui USP full size or compacts or HK 45s that has had the trades removed by the exporter? Can they really be removed without disfiguring the gun? How do they manage to do it?
-
I know that when the mag is removed the trigger will return to the forward position after it has been pulled. Unlike on other TM Glock models. Why is this ? And since WE gen4 Glocks are copies of the gen4 Maruis, I'm assuming that the trigger on the WE Baby Glock works the same way. Is this the case?

TM hi capa and 1911 trigger blades
emilianoksa replied to emilianoksa's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Thanks for the reply, mate. I've seen that Guarder trigger before but can't get in black. -
Try the Swiss Arms universal holster, widely available in different colours and with either level 1 or level 2 safety.

I know the trigger bows of the 1911 and hi capa are different sizes, but what about the actual trigger blades? I want to put a solid 1911 type trigger on my hi capa trigger bow. Will it fit and function ok?

The TM USP gets excellent reviews.

I am a huge pistol fan. At first they had to be metal to interest me. But metal pistols tend to go wrong sooner rather than later. And even the expensive ones are unreliable. The only one from my initial purchaces that I have kept is my WE Glock17 gen3. WE's G series are probably the best pistols they have ever produced. I finally bought a plastic TM hi capa and then put a metal slide and outer barrel on it and beefed up some of the internals. It's a nice looking gun and shoots well, but no better than the other TM pistols I subsequently bought and left stock. Marui pistols are now the only ones that interest me, and I have no interest in upgrading them. I am perfectly happy to run them stock on 144a gas. They just perform better than other pistols and they look so clean and well put together when you open them up. They may be plastic but they look much better than a lot of metal guns with their poor paint jobs that make them look like kiddies' toys. Wait until you can get another 50 quid together and get yourself a Marui. The TM FNX 45 for example will run rings round any other pistol I can think of.

Recently changed the trigger blade on my TM 5.1. Straightforward job normally. However, with the slide fitted, the hammer refused to release when the trigger was pulled. Normally the culprit would be the sear leaf spring. However with the slide removed the trigger and hammer work perfectly. If I cock the hammer with my finger it falls when I pull the trigger. Even when the slide is put back on but not racked. But when I rack the slide to cock the hammer, the trigger will no longer release it. I was hoping not to have to disassemble the hammer unit, but I can only think the problem is to do with the disconnector. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Nice. Let us know how you get on with it. -
Thanks lads. I've checked the TM page and mine is OK.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I have recently had cataract surgery and my sight has not been up to using the computer. Did Tokyo Marui ever get round to sorting the problem with their Gen 4 Glock 17s and 19s. Hope so, as I purchased one of their Glock 17 gen4s new from a retailer just a couple of weeks ago. Seems ok so far though I have only test fired it. Did the gen3 Glock 19 suffer from the same problem as the Gen4 19G?

I want to change the aluminium trigger, non drop outer barrel and guide rod plug on my TM hi capa from silver to black. Would anodising work out cheaper than cerakote, or would I be better off selling the parts and buying black ones. I've also thought about painting, but I can't be bothered with the hassle, and I think the parts deserve a better surface treatment.

Can anyone tell me if the difference between the Gen3 and Gen4 models of the TM Glock 19 are cosmetic only re. grips and mag release? Or are there some internal differences? Is the Gen4 superior to the Gen3?
-
I know most things are made in China now, but the TM components will be made to more rigorous TM quality standards and assembled as you say in Japan. I agree that TM pistols are overpriced in the West but that is simply because Marui does not export its products. All their guns come to Europe and the USA through middle men. As for the plastic, I know it is only ABS, but most people say it is very good quality ABS whereas some of the pot metal used in other brand pistols is very poor quality. How can you expect to get a high quality full metal pistol for not a lot more than a hundred quid? Apart from my two hi capas, I leave TM pistols unmodified. I only shoot my pistols at home, and so plastic and low powered gas if fine for me.
-
Thanks for the reply. For me, TM pistols are best left alone. I am not interested in sourcing metal slides for them. They were designed for optimal performance with plastic slides and low powered gas, and as such, they work better than most metal pistols will ever do. Yes, metal slides feel more realistic, but Marui at least manage to produce plastic slides that look very good. I would rather have Japanese quality over Chinese realism.

I know the E2 version is supposed to be better but I have always preferred the old stule grips. I know it is an old model but it was popular in its day. I'm not really bothered about larger blow back units, and I am not expecting the performance of say an FXNX45 or a HK USP, but I just wondered if it still perfectly usable. I don't know if the slide is reinforced were it contacts the slide stop on the frame. That is the one thing that I would find unacceptable.

Thanks for all the replies. No love for the WE Sigs, I assume.
-
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have considered the V10 but was put off a bit by the low gas capacity. I am leaning more to the HK USP Compact at the moment. I know the Glock 19 is a more recent gun than the HK but is really that much better?
-
I like the look of VFC pistols but have always avoided buying them, because of the problems they run into and the lack of parts support, although the HK45 CT might one day tempt me. I never skirmish my pistols and only use them at home occasionally, so maybe I am wrong to discount them. How quickly can they go wrong? I generally buy only TM or WE. Yes, WE are poor on quality control but they have good parts backup and can be fixed. And if you are more of a collector of pistols, like me, it's sometimes nice to have something more realistic than a plastic TM. I do like Maruis though and have several. Since I am looking for a compact (as opposed to sub-compact) pistol the guns that have interested me are: TM Glock 19 TM HK USP Compact WE Glock 19 - generally solid WE XDM40 3.8 which gets better reviews than the full sized one WE Sig P228 but it is all metal and I have come to prefer the feel of polymer frames WE Sig F18 I imagine I will go for a TM in the end, for peace of mind, but just wondered what others would think.

A little help required with my Guarder Glock frame
emilianoksa replied to emilianoksa's topic in Gas Guns
I assume those extra couple of millimeters on the baseplate prevent the mag from going in far enough to click. in place. Of course Guarder frames will vary slightly in dimensions as all mass produced things do, and just because I had this problem it doesn't mean that others will too. -
A little help required with my Guarder Glock frame
emilianoksa replied to emilianoksa's topic in Gas Guns
Just an update for anyone who is interested or runs into the same problem I had. The Spring under the front chassis just needed stretching a bit, as Rocketdogbert suggested. As for the magazine issue, the TM Glock mags have a slightly thicker baseplate than the WE ones - only a couple of millimetres different but enough to make a difference on a Guarder frame. If I replace a TM baseplate on the TM mag with a WE baseplate , it works fine. Of course an alternative would be to sand down the TM baseplate, but the WE ones are cheap enough to pick up. -
Thanks.
