  1. Frankly I do not like tilting steel outer barrels on gbb pistols. If I wanted to put a Guarder (or other) aluminium slide on a TM Glock would I have to have a metal outer barrel, or could I continue to use the Marui plastic one?. My pistols don't get any hard use. I never skirmish them. I believe KWA use plastic outer barrels on their guns even though the slides are metal, so it must be feasible.
  2. Oh dear. My commiserations. I can't think of any good reason why they should be allowed to get away with what they did to your gun. What gives the government the right to damage your property without apologising or paying compensation? What a crappy country we have become. Thanks for letting me know. I won't hold my breath.
  3. I have a complete set of internals for a TM Glock 19 Gen 3 - everything from both the frame and slide, but no magazine -. I broke the slide when putting a Guarder nylon frame on the gun. I also managed to destroy the Guarder frame. Long story. Since they are parts, can you confirm that I can sell them as a complete set without requiring UKARA? When I say complete set I mean everything including the parts in the slide - outer and inner barrel, hop up, bbu and nozzle, front and rear sights, recoil spring and guide. The only part that needs replacing is the slide stop spring which is bent out of shape somewhat. I even have the original TM frame though I am reluctant to include it in the package, because then all the gun would need is a new slide. ie. it would be 90% of a rif. I am beginning to wonder whether I should sell them in smaller batches rather than as a complete set, to avoid any misunderstanding with the law. Or maybe I should just buy a new slide and keep the gun. If I put a metal slide on it, would I be able to keep the plastic outer barrel. KWA pistols all have metal slides and plastic outer barrels, so I imagine so
  4. I have a parcel from Hong Kong currently at Castle Donington. Tracking it has been bringing up contradictory messages for the last three or four days. Today for example it shows as still not having completed clearance (it has been in the clearance process for several days} and yet is expected to be delivered in Greater Manchester by the end of the day. I got the same message yesterday, and nothing happened, so I am wondering when I will eventually get it. It is not a large or expensive item - just a metal slide without an outer barrel for a Marui pistol. Anybody else had this sort of problem?
  5. Thanks for the reply, and the offer. It is a 4.3 barrel I am looking for.
  6. Pay a little more and get a WE Glock. They are generally well regarded.
  7. Yes, thanks. But it was the black outer barrel I was interested in. The breech block on it appears to be hexagonal or at least not round. And the Barrel has a couple of cut outs towards the end which are visible through the limcat slide.
  8. If you don't mind me asking, what make is the outer barrel you have the black slide version? Is it by chance an Edge Hexa?
  9. Thanks for the reference.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I already have several levers. All I need is the spring.
  11. Can't find a replacement slide stop lever spring for a TM Glock 19 gen 3. WE G 17 equivalents are available. Can anyone tell me if the WE and Marui springs are compatible. And if I wanted to install a reinforced hammer spring to prevent light strikes, could you please advise me which are the most suitable. I tend to like 120% but I suppose 140% might be OK.
  12. Thanks for the reply and offer of advice.. I will post a picture but it will have to be a bit later in the day.
  13. The little brass tube embedded in the nylon frame for the screw that connects the hammer block of my Glock19 to the rear of my Guarder frame has broken off. Would I best be advised to put it back and pack JB Weld around it, or just fill in the hole with JB Weld, and screw into when it has cured? There are so many types of JB Weld - quick weld, plastic weld, plastic bonder, original steel reinforced, steel stick etc - and I'm not sure which would be best. I'm thinking the quick setting metal reinforced original is probably the one to go for . Or should I try one of the alternatives like Araldite? The only epoxy filler I have any experience of is Milliput, and I doubt that would be appropriate for the job.
  14. Thanks for the response. Luck of the draw then?
  15. Thanks Krisz CrO-Magnon, may I ask if you found the fitting of the Guarder gen 4 Glock kit relatively straightforward or problematic?
  16. Yes, you are probably right mate. I am a bugger for tinkering with things though. I probably get more pleasure from messing about with them than shooting them.?
  17. When fitting a metal slide to TM pistols one is advised to get a reinforced nozzle. However I have heard that Guarder nozzles don't fit the TM Glock bb units but only the Guarder ones. So, if I were to get a Guarder bb unit as well, might this result in misalignment problems with the TM hop unit? Will the Guarder bbu and nozzle work OK with the rearmost TM parts - piston head etc. - or do they also need replacing?
  18. I am not interested in the slide and outer barrel at this stage. I know these can be a problem to fit. However I am considering swopping only the Marui plastic frame with a Guarder one. I know I will encounter problems and I just wondered if anyone on here can tell me where those problems are likely to arise. I might be lucky and get a straight fit, but knowing Guarder that is unlikely. It might help me if I had some idea what to look out for.
  19. Thanks for the reply. I have recently discovered that painting powder coated metal is not a straightforward thing. It requires a lot of sanding, followed by a coat of primer and then a top coat. I just can't be bothered with all that, so I am exploring other possibilities such as self adhesive vinyl sheets. Thanks again.
  20. I bought an IKEA Uppspel glass door cabinet with powder coated metal pegboard back to display one or two pistols: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/uppspel-glass-door-cabinet-dark-grey-90507636/ The problem is that it is a black/dark grey pegboard, and I can hardly see my black pistols when they are mounted and covered by the glass doors. So I have decided to spray it light grey or even white. Would I be better using the Krylon Colour Max primer followed by Colour Max white, or would the one coat Fusion be a better alternative? It won't be like spraying a gun, just a metal sheet which will not suffer from wear from friction. My guns are all Maruis, and I was wondering if they might be damaged over time by any substance in the paint that, even after it had dried, would affect the the plastic frames and slides. I have just noticed that the Krylon Colour Max also appears to be both a paint and primer. Is it really a one coat solution like the Fusion? Or would I be better steering clear of Krylon and getting an alternative brand?
  21. Thanks. Would the plastic slide be able to run on a metal lower?
  22. Can anyone tell me if the TM P226R looks more plasticky than the later E2, or are they about the same.
  23. Looking forward to hearing how you get on.
  24. Thanks for the replies. Yes, for occasional use at home or on an airsoft range only. I never skirmish pistols. I was aware of the shortcomings of the early Beretta 92s, but it is good to hear that people are still happy with the performance of other Maruis with the smaller bbu volume.
