Surprised no one has brought up 'Silo Entertainment', Dutch fella who makes videos kind of in the same vein as Novritsch, mostly sniping but he does some rifleman stuff too. He sometimes talks through his tactics, in the moment thinking and and positioning. He did interesting one a little while back where he tested out a low profile exo suit which allowed him to run faster and save energy lol Someone else who comes to mind for actual tactics and methods, is 'Levelcap' (better known for FPS military shooters) - he has not made an airsoft video in many years, but go through his airsoft playlist, If I remember correctly he was quite good at breaking down what and why he was doing what he was doing in his clips and it was pretty entertaining. It's quite funny, one of the reasons he quit airsoft was that whenever he would go, all the kids would start following him 😂

Ah, did not realise they are NA based, so double the price after shipping 😅

Yeah 👍, will have to chuck it on the list of projects - will defo see if I can find someone to 3d Print something along these lines first. Mmm I wondered if it might be an Israeli one too, the red dot itself looks a little bit trijicon-esque. Edit*** Yeah here we go: https://www.trijicon.com/discontinued-products/details/rx01-10

Ah I see, so same as what I have... that's a lot of material you took off 😮 ...the Z carry handle is quite heavy, and your rendition looks nice and light: 3D print might be a good shout though 🤔 Mine as is: Just checking again and it looks like what Garand Thumb had is actually a self contained red dot with the carry handle attachment built in: i wonder what it is, need to dig a bit

Some beautiful pieces in that collection mate, love all the 60s to 90s / cold war era stuff! Question regarding the quoted colt 9mm carbine kit: what is that forward carry handle mount you've put your C-more on? I think I saw it on the Garand thumb m16a2 video and have actually been looking for that mount ever since but with no luck. I want to mount my own C-more that way too. Any links or pointers as to where I could find it would be great!

Ah I see, because most AEG AKs only allow a couple of inches of movement on the charging handle - the old slide allowed adjustment to be accessible from the front of the chamber, the dial does not. Interesting. If that is the case, we're talking, Pros: finer adjustments and holds position while firing. Cons: might need a flat head screwdriver (or dust cover off) to adjust.

Good to know! I mean I find that issue quite common when using tall nubs like an omega or similar paired with Macarons and other off the shelf flat hop type buckings. sometimes you have to sand a mil or so off the lever arm to ensure less protrusion at the lowest setting.

Oh nice - do Specnas come with those as stock then? I wonder what the point of that flat top cover piece over the barrel entrance is, looks optional either way
-
Yeah I have some unopened 4uantums lying about too so depending on how it goes for you I might just do exactly the same 😁 Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I saw the rotary unit in Negative's recent LCT shaming video and thought damn that's what I want (as he rants about how crap their internals are 😂)

Alternatively you could use a crane stock like the one @Lozart linked which should take a 2000-2600mah nun-chuck style battery that'll last all day (depending on how trigger happy your boy is I suppose 😅) You can get something like this in a 7.4 or 11.1 config - the stock tube itself usually fits a cell if you use 11.1s https://www.componentshop.co.uk/7-4v-2600mah-25c-continuous-discharge-cranestock-lipo-battery.html You can also get 9.6v NIMH bats in the same config if you run those.

Evening Don't suppose anyone has slapped one of these into your generally available brand AKs (CYMA, G&G, TM, E&L etc) Thinking about replacing the default cast G&G hop in my GKM. Worst case will just buy one and see for myself, but thought there might be some xp floating about - I can't be the only one fed up with the crappy little slide. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/lct-rotary-hop-unit-for-ak-aeg?srsltid=AfmBOormEOVAtsd9Ni3W6kY6g8j776qtSpe6crPiKamhbHW4BqHma4wm

Yeah this is a known issue with Ali express, plenty of info out there on it - I only use the website, but occasionally I get "does not ship to your location errors." Usually signing in and out or logging in with a incog tab corrects this for me. Clearing your browser cache and cookies might also have the same effect.

Do you mean my UKARA info? or just the nature of the shipment? I have not re-upped UKARA for a while.. wasn't really planning on doing so any time soon either 🤔

Evening all, Was about to checkout some parts with an HK based retailer, but paused when I saw that the entirety of the basket could be construed as the majority of the externals for a RIF M4 Receiver M4 pistol grip M4 outer barrel & extensions M4 M-lok Hand guard (some other bits and bobs too: MP5 mags, battery highcap spinner, MP5 hand guard I'm not even buying all these components for a new build - I just have too many ARs that are due some new bits 😅 (i.e not deliberately trying to circumvent RIF import rules - but may be doing so inadvertantly) This particular shop tends to use HK Post which then goes onto RM or PF (So not UPS) I'm just wondering if that combo could actually get assessed as a RIF import and whether it would be more prudent to break the shipment into two lots (will cost me 15-20 quid more but that would be nothing compared to the stress of having to deal with BF etc - so that's probably my answer right there). I use Asian retailers all the time, but this might be the first time I've ended up with this much of a RIF in one go - hence the caution. Any recommendations or relevant experiences? that UPS thread is making me paranoid. (Sorry not mentioning the retailer name until I checkout as the schizo part of me is certain you people will steal the stuff right out of my basket!!!!! 🤣🤪 - some seriously insane prices there!)

Love a C-more reflex ?

I'll occasionally get these kind of issues in a build I throw together. There are two things I can usually do to get the system running smoothly. - what I usually do to correct it is try different switch blocks (the part of the switch assembly with the single contact that pushes into the two leaf plate contacts) The little molded L shape groove that engages with the end of the cut off lever can come in quite different shapes and thickness from switch block to switch block. Finding one that works well with your setup can help - note that over time that molded piece can get worn down and squished resulting in slipping and sliding that could just cause the effect you are talking about of a double shot - after all it is a very abrupt mechanical / kinetic flick that occurs when the switch block is pushed out of the channel. - The other side of the same problem is the cut off lever - It's possible that your new sector gear does not bump the cut off lever quite as consistently as your old gears resulting in a slightly tamer (though usually efficient enough) tug on the switch block, resulting in that 'good enough' engagement but just bad enough to give you issues once every 20-40 shots. @ak2m4 posted on FB not too long ago about some precisely machined switch blocks with a nice big square contact - as someone who still has old school switch assemblies in all but one of my AEGs, that's the kind of thing I would love to get my hands on ? I'm guessing if you put something like that in your M733 it might well sort you out.

Purchasing an accessory from a RS retailer - risk assesment?

My local plods from Surrey police are actually aware of my airsoft kit as I was burgled in 2014 and lost a number of RIFS, the officer they sent to interview me a few days later was actually a regular at my closest site Epsom tunnels so he was very sympathetic to the trauma of losing all those pieces - was nice to start that conversation without an air of being interrogated as to WHY YOU GOT GUNS, and instead bonded over our shared hobby ? - we also had a good conversation about using RIFs in self defence in a home invasion scenario from a legal stand point; took away some interesting pointers. -
I think as I've gotten a little older i've lost my patience for muddy fields and rainy days... having said that I played at Plantation a couple of years ago in December on a crisp sunny day when it was around -1 to 0 all day and the ground was frozen solid, it actually made for a great time. As long as you're dressed up and have a good anti fog system. Would take those conditions over slushy mud anytime. The aesthetics of the site were great too, everything was frosted over pretty much all day.

Purchasing an accessory from a RS retailer - risk assesment?

Yeah I was thinking about asking them to do that too ? Out of interest, how easy was it to mod the lower for an AEG or GBB ? And made me also wonder if a real trigger pack would work on a GBB ? -
Purchasing an accessory from a RS retailer - risk assesment?
Zarrin replied to Zarrin's topic in General Discussion
Thanks gents. Good to know that it is not actually a regulated item, so even if it does get seized by someone having a bad day, wanting to take it out on little old me, there should not be any legal implications. -
Afternoon all, I am eyeing up this - when and if it comes back in stock I may pick one up. But I am feeling a little cautious about the implications of purchasing/importing from a real steel accessory retailer (imagining firearms component scrawled over the parcel description ?) I think I would definitely contact them beforehand and ask how they would in fact label the parcel. But let's say i'm unlucky and customs do pick it up; i'm wondering if it is in fact an accessory that came from a retailer that caters for RS, would that effect their release decision even if I explain it was for legal use. And more importantly, could that get me in trouble if they rule against me. I suppose it comes down to what extent components like furniture are actually regulated. It may also come down to the disposition and knowledge of the agent who handles the case. Any experience or advice in such cases?

@Cooperman26hmm best of luck getting that through mate ?

Maintenance complete: Asia https://airsoft-asia.com/ (gone, but not to be confused with Asia Airsoft which is still up and running. This is a shame though, airsoft asia was good, used them many times. http://www.gunnerairsoft.com/ (that is an absolute tragedy - anyone who was around during the mid 2000s ACM boom, will feel this one) EU https://www.airsoftarms.eu/en/ apparently became https://www.darkbull.eu http://www.ussli.com/ closed/down
