  1. Depends on what you plan to do with a DMR. Its a half way house between an ordinary assault rifle and a sniper rifle. If you are going to have it locked to single shot and be the subject of a minimum engagement distance anyway, you could argue that you might as well just go to a full bolt action sniper rifle. If the role of carrying a DMR in a squad appeals, then you might just as well stick to the normal fps limits and make your rifle a cosmetic DMR. An increasing number of sites are asking for "real world" DMRs, so you couldn't just put a high power scope on an MP5. This is slightly contentious, especially amongst skirmish sites. We only do milsim, so we ask players to enter into the spirit by trying to adopt a rifle type that is used in the real world as a DMR. We have a 420fps limit with MED of 30m and rifles have to be semi only.
  2. Looks great. Bit far to go for many UK airsofters, especially with difficulties in getting RIFs across borders, but you never know. We wish you well.
  3. We gave this interview recently. We are a part of the Filmsim Ltd group owned by Josh Smith who also runs Gunman Airsoft. Okto is a kind of brand that was designed to provide filmsim - milsim games. Lots of milsim companies provide the hard core style 24-48 hours continuous milsim games and they do it very well. We are more "Movie meets Milsim". We alternate our games (currently) between the two Gunman sites in Eversley and Kings Langley, which are situated around the M25 motorway ring to make it accessible for many players. We might play one of our future games at our third site in Tuddenham, Suffolk. Okto is currently two games in to the Moldistan series and we do all we can to make it as realistic and immersive as possible. Our third game is due next month and we try to run games every four months. We don't see us as a replacement for skirmishes, more a special event for the airsofters calendar. Lastly, we wouldn't be where we are without fantastic support from the players. Many of them spend their free time making themselves additional props to play with at the game or to adorn their bases to increase the reality factor. We are a very friendly group and if you feel you would like to try something else to add to your airsoft repertoire, its worth giving it a go.
  4. Cyma are good value for money. We have their M4s and AK47's as hire guns and sell a bit of Cyma in the site shop. A lot of our players choose to buy Cyma for their price and ruggedness. If you get them overseas, ask the supplier to make a spring change to reduce their "hotness" to a UK site legal fps.
  5. The latest Filmsim plot twist leading up to Operation Firestorm next month. We have 46 players plus the Filmsim site crew. Still have a couple of places available on the rebels side and the government defence force within our 50 player limit. Game will be at Eversley at the top of the M3 (not far from J12 M25). This is the village of Tsiara where the ministerial visit will take place. Its going to be awesome.
