  1. I wasn't there last Thursday. A few other members went but I was stuck at work. Will have a contractor load out (tan trousers, black top, tan chest rig,) and a HK416. Will also probably be the only one there with an American accent.
  2. If I were you I would visit a shop that would let you fire any recoil they may have in stock. You will know more than anyone else what it's worth to you. I have a TM 416 and wouldn't part with it anytime soon. I think they are one of the best stock guns you can buy and worth the price tag to me. Trigger response is good but something easily upgraded to great with a good mosfet. Recoil makes skirmishing better I think. They are, after all, replicas of real guns that have recoil. I don't think I could ever spend £1000+ on a replica firearm... at least a stock one for that matter. I'm better off taking the extra money and upgrading my TM 416 to what ever I want it to be and do.
  3. My thoughts exactly. Airsoft is all about relaxing and de-stressing for me. Growing up and living most of my life as a yank I miss being able to own and shoot guns as freely as I once did. Airsoft fills that void somewhat. Oh... and I love some BF4! :-)
  4. Anyone going to skirmish night at The Mall Thursday June 18th?
  5. Thanks all! Some really good input. Have a little bit more research to do then it will be decision time. Kinda wish this was available when I bought my TM... Qlimax, thanks for the offer. Will definitely take you up on it if I get one.
  6. Qlimax, what site is that? Around the 4 min mark it sounds like an actual war zone!
  7. Thanks for that sp00n! Seems like there are some issues albeit small ones though. Do you know what sites have Tippmann as rentals?
  8. Thinking of getting a Tippmann which will be used soley for outdoors. Don't really know much about them other than whats on the web and youtube. Looking to get some feedback and advice from members who own or have run one. What is the performance like versus your average upgraded TM recoil, especially regarding range? I'm not a big fan of paintball so have no real experience of what it's like to run around with an air cylinder on my back... is it awkward? What's the availability of parts and servicing like in the UK? As my only experience with airsoft rifles has been with AEGs, are there any major downsides with the tippmann when compared? (Other than an air tank on your back and a hose connected to the gun) Do you have to refill air cylinders between games or does it last the entire day? Do skirmish sites have any issues with running tippmanns? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  9. At The Mall? I'm up for that. How many people do you normally need?
  10. Sundays are a looonnggg day. I prefer Thursdays so far and its darker so more practical use of tracers. There are good things about Sundays though... less traffic getting there and lunch breaks!
  11. Wish I could make it... finish work at 7pm.
  12. Yeah I agree its a bit difficult to stick together at The Mall but it's always good to have a laugh with a few mates. And good when you are on the same frequency with clearing rooms etc. It seems difficult trying to find out what the hell is going on from other players at times. The only time you get an enthusiastic response is when the terminator is coming! Lol
  13. Lol... I've been a couple times now this year but plan on going more fequently. Can't always bring a group along with me but not going at all sucks more than going alone. Will start a thread next time I'm going. I'm sure I've probably seen some of you there already.
  14. You cannot go wrong with TM... plain and simple. Are they worth the money? I haven't heard a REAL TM owner complain yet. Do yourself a favour and have a test drive of TM recoils and other AEGs at your local shop. Even if you don't get to shoot them, handle them and shake them about... decide for yourself.
  15. I see The Mall mentioned a lot in posts, when going do you go as an AFUK team or do you sort of 'do your own thing'?

    Upgrades

Depends on your gun and what you want to do with it. If you are new to airsoft and want upgrading have it done by a professional and buy quality parts. Don't let anyone tell you upgrading isn't worth it. You are the one using your gun, not them. If you skirmish against opponents using quality high end upgrades to quality guns you will certainly know it! If its done properly it is definitely worth it. There is a reason mosfets like BTC Spectre are £100+ and are always out of stock. Find some good airsoft engineers and explore your options. Also, start with a quality stock gun. Play with hop-up, BB sizes and lipo vice conventional battery firstly... see how that goes then figure out what you want to improve.
  17. ^^^ What he said about the CQB sites +1 There are some good regulars at Bunker51 though and I don't mind it. Its like playing COD Team Death Match lol.
  18. Thanks Samurai.... seems straight forward enough.
  19. I'm fairly new to airsoft and have never taken an AEG apart. I have a TM HK416 Devgru and want to swap the pistol grip for the original, chunkier TM HK416D grip. Is this an easy straight forward swap or will it entail re-adjusting motor, gears, etc?
  20. Saw a pic of your RM4.... very nice!
  21. Funny enough I was just looking at the RM4! Seems like a really good option.
  22. Ok. It sounds like for what I want the TMs won't be far off anyway? Have any of you ever upgraded a TM aeg to 350fps?
