I had a Cyma springer for a while, and it was fine enough for cheap, but also partially glued shut and built in the most insane way possible. After a year it started just falling apart.

Bought an ASG SPAS springer trishot that uses 30 round shells. Fun for CQB and room clearance. Not very effective outdoors. Invested £30 in the cheapest single shot 15 round magazine springer from Super5s after an interesting discussion with one of the guys there about converting it with a stronger spring to a DMR ! Maybe one for the long winter nights. If it fails after a game it’ll be fun and not too much money wasted.

How should I move on multiple Boxes of used Rif's and Parts?
Hudson replied to MSSNAFU's topic in General Help
To be honest, if you've got a vehicle big enough (or you hire one), then it might be worthwhile just booking a stall or two and taking it to the Midlands Airsoft Fair in October. You can sort it into complete guns, and parts etc. and just let people dig through it at their leisure. -

The hop rubber should be replaced after this amount of time but that will affect the BBs firing rather than feeding. Definitely clean the barrel too. The feeding problem is likely due to the magazine spring being too weak. Does it have a wheel at the bottom? If so then half fill the mag and wind the wheel until you feel more resistance. You should get a new mag to test with anyway. When you look into the BB feed tube (underneath), you should see the nozzle move in and out. If it doesn't clear the feed hole after firing then there's a problem in the gearbox. Just watched the video. I've never seen a transparent plastic gearbox before and it's cool to see. It looks like it's cycling correctly but I doubt it will last long especially with it's age so I would advise getting a metal one. EDIT: Just had a look and I could not find one in stock so if you get it working enjoy it while it lasts. Best of luck

Hi Can't help much as I don't know the L85 of any make and I can't see the video, but what caught my attention was you say its been used as a prop for 8 years? I have a type 97 bullpup that had been used as a stage prop for years, and its original hop rubber was apparently natural rubber which had literally rotted inside it. I'll let you imagine what it smelt like! 😄 so I would check the hop unit especially the hop rubber itself and the nub as it may be perished or perhaps distorted by being left set that long, which obviously could easily interfere with BB's feeding. Also, probably stating the obvious again, but has the inner barrel been cleaned? My Type 97 had its own little ecology inside when I got it! It still suprises me after xxxx years airsofting 🙂 how little dirt/residue/dust in the barrel can cause feeding issues and jams. Also, has the mag been unused for years too? if so its well worth checking that for dust/dirt etc too, and if itsa midcap thats been left with some BB's in it the spring may well be weakened as you describe. Trying with other mags would show if the mag is the problem. Sorry for being so non specific and vague. Best of luck with it.

For sale is VFC's gas blowback PPSh-41, serial number #1432 This replica comes with one 120-round casette held within the drum magazine which doubles as a gas reservoir as well as the special tool and plastic protector disk intended to remove the fake rivets holding the hop unit and outer barrel within the barrel shroud. This not been skirmished with, only used for spare parts for my other PPSh until replacement parts arrived. The metal outer surfaces as well as the internals have been cleaned with isopropryl and degreased. A fresh layer of SuperLube has been applied to the high-friction surfaces internally. Gun oil has also been applied to the exterior steel parts as well as the magazine. The four original screws holding the rear tang to the receiver have been replaced with shorter M3x6mm Torx screws with Loctite applied, ensuring they do not work themselves loose during prolonged firing. Rate of fire is obscenely fast and the noise notable. There are issues with accuracy due to the open bolt function and lack of time for the bb to dwell in the hop. The quality of the finish on the stock is also dire. Contrary to what VFC said, real surplus stocks are incompatible with this replica. This is a UK-only sale. Price is £400 plus postage and packaging Any questions or offers please PM me Will send via courier (Parcelforce). Pick-up can be negotiated if the buyer is local (Hampshire Area)400.00 GBP

Would you rather: a) Pay out for a face mask and eye protection that will last and be as safe as possible or b) Lose teeth and eyes and potentially put a site at risk of closure Safety should always be paramount in my opinion, even if it means forking out £100 -

I have a few shotguns in my collection, 15 in all 😁, all spring powered. Not had any issues with them. Each type has their own strengths and weaknesses. Gas, less strength needed to pump, sound great when you rack, a little more power, but gas usage means you do have to be wary of your shots and do require (as any gas RiF) up keep to keep them in good working order. Springers, a good arm work out and you’ll feel it the next day but no worries about worrying how much you have left in the tank and will just keep going. As the previous commenter, I would also personally recommend the Cyma range of shotguns as build quality is good and always good fun. I have a number of their full metal ones and a couple of polymer builds for variety and love them. Obviously the polymer builds are also cheaper than the full metal one to. I also have a couple from the Double Eagle brand with there textured rubber grips and they have also never let me down and are good fun. The majority all have the tri shot barrels to as a shotgun should spread! I’ve also got some S&T shotguns which are full metal with real wood which are beautiful to look at and hold but they are only single shot and can have a little more range if that’s what you are wanting. My opinion with shotguns is that they are best for close quarters, room clearing etc and are not designed for reaching distance. So you have to adapt your gameplay for them which can be fun! Buy I would definitely start with a springer, get the feel for it and if you enjoy it then look to upgrade down the line!

I'm a little intimidated by the prices of the quality face masks, but I know if we going to do this regularly and safely I need to invest. Thanks again. -

Theres nothing wrong with budget brands (provided they are up to standard) My first goggles were the entry level, and I kept them for many years (with lens changes), a couple of paint jobs and they were in my lending collection. Even when going on to ‘premium ranges’ I also bought a rental type, because I wanted that colour scheme and they fitted my head (I still have that set in the box) -

Great reply and suggestions, thanks. I have been using the full face masks at the site I shoot at, although I did buy my son his own mask. I think I will get a full face mask as suggested. We both wear cheapish goggles when target shooting in the garage with paintball and now airsoft as there's no one shooting back at us. That's really what I brought these for. Cheers. Rick. I appreciate the advice mate, thank you. Yep, the garage is safe and I have a padded and secure backstop to reduce ricochets. I do shoot sub 12 ftlb airguns in there without issues. I usually wear a set of Stihl chainsaw goggles over my glasses. (Found em in garage when we moved in.) As I mentioned he has a budget brand, (but the same as my local site hands out) full mask as I quite like the little shit.... But lesson learned thanks guys. I don't want either of us to get hurt. Thanks for the replies. -

Hi Nick How are you getting on with the drum mag? I have recently picked up a WE Apache and I am debating whether to add 2x 45 round mags or one of these. Thanks in advance.
