Need help with working out how to ship a large item
Austeyr replied to Austeyr's topic in General Discussion
I ended up sticking it into a vacuum bag, then just wrapped that bag in a bin bag and taped the fuck out of it 😂 Ebay wants me to use their prepaid evri though which is annoying, prefer to do my own shipping stuff 🙄 -

This has been the case for decades now. Over time the complexity of electronic products has increased, more functions are on ICs rather than discrete components, and the assembly methods favour small and closely packed board layouts to minimise size, which makes it an absolute bastard to perform repair on most things. Plus an unhealthy dose of Planned Obsolescence. If I never have to replace an 0201 surface mount component it'll be too soon. It's like handling a grain of sand.

It’s interesting and perhaps a sign of the times that repair and make do is becoming a bygone thing of the past.Yet the green agenda has never been so publicised ? However some of the higher end units are retailing at £250 and when warranty ends you’re totally snookered! Surly a repair would cost less then replacement?

Maybe there is one of those old style “Tv & Video/PC” repair shops in your city that you could ask nicely to have a look at It sounds like it just need a bit of accurate soldering It might be of interest and a challenge to somebody a bit old school with the “make do and mend” attitude

Yeah 👍, will have to chuck it on the list of projects - will defo see if I can find someone to 3d Print something along these lines first. Mmm I wondered if it might be an Israeli one too, the red dot itself looks a little bit trijicon-esque. Edit*** Yeah here we go: https://www.trijicon.com/discontinued-products/details/rx01-10

Blackstone CQB started running such games. I especially appreciated the fact that they forced a certain "spirit of the game" by banning HPA-adapted weapons for the pistol & shotgun games so nobody could rock up with an Hi-Capa with an M4 mag.

Alternatively, you can buy it from a retailer and get some peace of mind with a warranty while paying £100 less for the privilege https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/tokyo-marui-biohazard-albert-w-model-01p/

I don't imagine imagine there is much of a business case for repro PEQ/NGAL/MAWL/etc repairs, especially in the UK, because it won't be worth it for the customer. Outside of the wiring, spare components such as laser emitters won't have economies of scale that there would be much profit margin unless a repair business bought hundreds if not thousands. I side with Lyndication. Once you factor in parts & labour costs along with shipping, especially with something less expensive like a PEQ, buying a replacement is more viable than a repair from a customer's perspective.

Garand Rhumbs wasn't the C-More set up, but more like the Israeli version as they use a lot of carry handle AR's still today. Yeah I did a lot to it but couldn't find an alternative at the time. Just cut the rail part off the top carry handle section to match the slant of the handle and you'll need to file it like I did. Then cut straight down from the edge towards the fsp then attach a piece of metal the desired length and width. Then respray it. Take the 20mm mount off the C-More and drill the correct hole so you can mount it to the flat metal bar. Sounds long winded and probably get a 3d printed one for less hassle but it's better than I'm making it sound lol.

Hi all I have a WE Katana spilt gearbox, for the live of me I can't find a WE M4 receiver, so I was wondering if ( BIG IF ) any of the Nurprol M4's would accommodate this gearbox, I've tried other manufacturers but not fitting, and I didvreadvages ago the WE/Nuprol where the same if not simular, any help on this would be great as I've had this gearbox sitting in a box for ages
