Garand Rhumbs wasn't the C-More set up, but more like the Israeli version as they use a lot of carry handle AR's still today. Yeah I did a lot to it but couldn't find an alternative at the time. Just cut the rail part off the top carry handle section to match the slant of the handle and you'll need to file it like I did. Then cut straight down from the edge towards the fsp then attach a piece of metal the desired length and width. Then respray it. Take the 20mm mount off the C-More and drill the correct hole so you can mount it to the flat metal bar. Sounds long winded and probably get a 3d printed one for less hassle but it's better than I'm making it sound lol.

Hi all I have a WE Katana spilt gearbox, for the live of me I can't find a WE M4 receiver, so I was wondering if ( BIG IF ) any of the Nurprol M4's would accommodate this gearbox, I've tried other manufacturers but not fitting, and I didvreadvages ago the WE/Nuprol where the same if not simular, any help on this would be great as I've had this gearbox sitting in a box for ages

Many thanks for sharing this. The quick-release sling and strap look very promising. Is the barrel bag the same thing as the barrel sock you put over the muzzle before you enter the same zone?

Need help with working out how to ship a large item

Forget all that, i shipped something similar to the Lebanon, & back then size was going to hit me just as hard on the price as weight. So in folded it up as small as it would comfortably go, then put it in to a vacuum bag, kind you put winter jumpers & quilts etc in, when the air was sucked out it was less than half its original size, I then stuck the whole thing in to one of those HD mailing bags, making sure it was a snug fit so that if the vacuum bag leaked, the whole thing wouldn't blow up like a liferaft in the airfreighters cargo hold 🤣 -
Ah I see, so same as what I have... that's a lot of material you took off 😮 ...the Z carry handle is quite heavy, and your rendition looks nice and light: 3D print might be a good shout though 🤔 Mine as is: Just checking again and it looks like what Garand Thumb had is actually a self contained red dot with the carry handle attachment built in: i wonder what it is, need to dig a bit

Yeah like I said, they're very cheap. Your TV costs 5-10x that and they don't have repair shops you can take them to either. Most manufacturers exchange like for like and maybe have one service center for the whole EU that performs board level replacement. It's part of why people have been banging on about Right To Repair for years now. If you paid me a fair rate to spend an hour inspecting and repairing it, plus shipping there and back, it'd already be getting close to the cost of buying one new. So people just do anyway.

Need help with working out how to ship a large item
Tommikka replied to Austeyr's topic in General Discussion
Fold it and / or roll it Pull out inserts if applicable first, stack them and fold/roll around them Wrap in bubble wrap, brown paper etc If you have sizeable plastic packet envelopes then use them, if not then cut open a black bin bag or two and wrap with that Finish with an abundance of tape, ideally brown parcel tape but sellotape will do Check the final dimensions and weigh it You probably have an awkwardly shaped large parcel that gets in the way of your scales display, two solutions are: 1) put an object on top of the scales, reset to zero and then balance your parcel on top 2) alternatively, put your parcel directly on the scales, reset to zero and take off your parcel - the scales should then show a negative value indicating the weight -

If the cheaper versions are on average £40-£60 and the metal ones £100-£200 it’s still a significant amount of money to warrant a repair. However I cannot find anyone in Uk who does this sort of work.Considering how many their must be in the Uk I would have thought someone would have set a business up however sadly not. I know my limits and electrical work of this nature is certainly not my forte lol I am more than happy to pay for this expertise to save my sanity!

I'm certainly not an electrical engineer but that sounds right to me. If you have acces to a current tester and soldering iron it may be possible to repair

Wrap it in tonnes of bubble wrap then put it in one of those thick parcel bags clothes get delivered in. -
I just sold a reproduction ‘Nam flak jacket via eBay but the thing is huge and stuffing it into a cardboard box like I would normal items doesn’t seem like a very smart idea. How the heck do I post this thing safely?! 😅
-
Oh, it may be quite hard to repair. There's not really a dedicated service for that kind of thing, as they tend to be quite cheap. You may have some luck if you have a pal who has electronic tech skills, but usually the parts are tricky to procure. It sounds like a fault in the power line if both modes are flickering.

Hi, Sorry just to clarify it’s a reproduction. I have contacted the manufacturer and I am waiting for a response. However it’s now out of warranty.I am more than happy to pay for repair but unsure if they will undertake repair. Many thanks

I'm guessing it's a real one rather than repro. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer?

Hi, May I enquire does anyone know is there anywhere in the UK who undertakes Ngal or Peq15 repro repairs ? My Ngal has died with only a flicker then nothing from visible laser and light. I have cleaned battery compartment and changed battery unfortunately without success. I would be most grateful for any advice and support. Many thanks

New Viva Arms "Ranch Boy" Ruger 10/22 GBBR (Samson-style stock)
BenJackson replied to BenJackson's topic in Latest News
Honestly from what I've gathered when speaking to Viva, it seems stock, there's certainly no proprietary issues that I've been told about, so at this stage I would say that it's essentially an SSQ clone in it's entirety Literally the first thing I asked for when they initially announced it! Although don't expect it anytime soon...whilst the body modifications would be easy, unless they licence a VFC or TM system (good luck with that), it means either "cloning" it or developing your own entirely...at which point it risks being a cool paperweight. -

If they do 556 variant....I'll be over the moon . -
Hi Zarrin Thanks for the compliment mate. I actually started off with this Z Carry Handle Rail and heavily modded it to suit. I did it several years ago, now I'd just ask someone to 3d print one. The bit that the C-More sits on is just 20mm bar I bought from Ebay and bolted it to the part that forms the Carry Handle bit. Rich

Some beautiful pieces in that collection mate, love all the 60s to 90s / cold war era stuff! Question regarding the quoted colt 9mm carbine kit: what is that forward carry handle mount you've put your C-more on? I think I saw it on the Garand thumb m16a2 video and have actually been looking for that mount ever since but with no luck. I want to mount my own C-more that way too. Any links or pointers as to where I could find it would be great!

That's why I love GBBR too. Plus the realism to their operation and strip down. Gives me some nostalgia to my time in the Forces, still remember the whole weapons drills for the l85 off by heart haha.
