Yeah different models of VFC have different materials in the parts, and it's tricky to work out which come with what a lot of the time.

Just be aware that many (most?) sites will not accept that and will require the gun to be mechanically locked to semi.

Hi everyone what would be a fair price to move on 2 UMP replicas that I bought on a whim and have never got round to using and have just sat forever in their boxes? 1 comes with extra UMP9 mags and the other with 9 UMP45 magazines Would £150 and £200 be fair prices based on the amount of magazines with each?

It's not just the parts with diminishing returns higher than Danniella Westbrook on Colombian flake that put me off, there's also the hideous colours for the slide and/or grip that look like somebody committed an unholy act on a unicorn.

Most sites I've been to ask you to only load 1 bb and chrono that. At Blackstone they put a piece wood in front of the chrono and did this. To me this is the most accurate method

Different batches will have different parts. It's a bit of pot luck. V3/V2 just really refers to the big design improvements not the standardisation of parts used in the build. My first VFC was from 2018 it was all steel apart from the bolt carrier. I've since had a few more and everyone has been a little different. Lucky the parts are cheap and easy to source/install

Load the shell normally, get close to the chrono, and put the barrel so that only the top inner barrel will actually fire through the chrono. The other two should just smash against the table or whatever. Yeah it sucks, but like the others said if you just fire three BBs through the chrono it gives bad readings, but also if you fire with only one barrel loaded the gas vents out the other two and the measured power on that one BB is much lower.

AAP and Hicapa owners will sell you a gun with part names like the Shit Myself BigPP Short Stroker and act surprised when no one wants to pay used car money for it.

Chronoing gas shotguns is both easy and hard, depending on the kit on hand. As you've found, most site chronos struggle - the gas can upset them, as can multiple BBs going through the gates, which is how you end up with mad 5J readings. Lots of places will tell you to just load one BB and fire that, which is inaccurate the other way and often leads to lower readings (lots of gas will just escape out of the other barrels). The only way to do it really accurately is to use radar chronos (https://airsoftdirect.uk.com/product/valken-airsoft-chronograph-custom-chrono-x-radar/) but they're not especially common. FWIW if I chrono at home with multiple BBs, I often get 3J+ readings. If I chrono with one BB, it will usually show around 0.7J but if I chrono on a radar with three BBs it's around 1J.

Based on general experience, the gearbox from the people that made the gun should have a better chance of fitting directly and working properly - but there are no guarantees. The other thing I've found is that some V2 boxes in G3/G36/MP5 are subtly different than a standard V2 box (selector plate for one) so just check that before you drop coin on one.

The majority of the sites I’ve used a shotgun at have asked to load one bb into a few shells and chrono that way, not sure if that’s the norm but to me it’s the most logical

Hi All, Tried to search but couldn't find a topic on this Recently picked up a Gas M870 shottie that shoots in either 3 or 6 shots When I chronoed at home was putting out 5J on green gas on 3 shot - I've tried then to chrono with just 1 bb which was still showing 2.5j until I moved slightly further back (2-3inches - oooh errrr) from the chrono - then was getting 1J. I assume this was the unspent gas also exiting the muzzle and entering the chrono - skewing the data. My question: How do most sites chrono shotguns on the day? Want to try out my new toy - but dont want to be hit with a silly 20m MED because the chrono isn't reading right Cheers!

I bought a used LCT G3 a few weeks ago with a plan to build it into a DMR. I don’t know a lot about the history or age of the gun, it doesn’t have a MOSFET or quick change spring. Original idea was to send it off to have it built into a 450fps semi only DMR with a few choice upgrades but I’ve come across a few V2 gearboxes (one made by LCT) with a MOSFET and quick change spring already part of the package. Will these just drop straight into the gun or need additional work to make them work? The LCT version looks like the upgraded version of what’s already in the gun so should be fairly easy to swap over but I’ve also seen the Cyma platinum complete gearboxes. I have two Cyma Platinum MP5’s and they shoot incredibly well for what they are. Both gearboxes are under £130 which seems like a cost effective option and basis for a good DMR build if it’s “that easy”. Interested in the MOSFET so I can program it to semi only and the quick change spring will allow me to tune the power and easily return it to a sub 350fps gun should I want / need to run as a full auto rifle in the future.

Likewise. I think they were the first company that I bought batteries from online. I have had one duff battery from them; they sent a replacement the same day I reported it to them and did not ask for the duff one to be returned.

Another vote for component shop. I've used them for years and are usually my first stop when looking for anything battery related
