Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted March 25, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted March 25, 2012 Yah. So I mean, if the M40 is fully VSR compatible and that's made by Ares, then it stands to reason that the already available AW will be as well, especially since they appear to both be practically the exact same system, which also seems to be a copy of sorts, of the TM L96 AWS system, what with the mag placement being correct and everything. RedWolf have a review of it up now: I'm not sure review is really the right word as they really didn't cover much, but it seems pretty good and it looks seriously nice. Loving that it's metal as well.

Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted March 28, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted March 28, 2012 She reminds me of Sheva from Resi5, or at least she sounds a bit like her. I don't think she's the best looking girl in the world, I'd rather have a go with the gun lol.
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted July 5, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted July 5, 2012 Just found this whilst browsing around: Anyone else more turned on by it now? If that Asian guy is actually an employee of Ares then this might be the confirmation I've been waiting for to know if it's fully VSR10 compatible or not. He says it is. I might have to pick one up on loan day... Especially considering RedWolf are now in the UK, meaning I can grab an OD one... God I'm excited. Supporters M_P Posted July 5, 2012 Supporters Share Posted July 5, 2012 I'm in a library... does he say fully compatible or just compatible?
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted July 5, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted July 5, 2012 He says >all< the components are VSR compatible. Same piston, springs and spring guide are the three things he specifies. I wonder if it takes the VSR sears and cylinder and stuff as well... I PM'd dazz from ASPUK earlier on to see if he's seen any since they were released, he might know something by now.
Supporters M_P Posted July 5, 2012 Supporters Share Posted July 5, 2012 God I hope it takes all parts, I want one almost as much as the ASW
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted July 6, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted July 6, 2012 I just read a post on Facebook on a similar topic to this that I'd never thought of before. Apparently, Ares' last spring sniper system was fully VSR compatible, do you know what that was? I'm guessing the WA2000. I might have to look into it. If it's true then I'm really setting my hopes high. If this thing is VSR compatible then it'll be truly, truly awesome.
Supporters M_P Posted July 6, 2012 Supporters Share Posted July 6, 2012 I think the WA2k was took a lot of VSR parts but not all, but it does give hope... Edit: It's the Piston, cylinder, cylinder head, spring guide, spring and the hop rubber that are the same- I'd assume the barrel is too Just looked through a chinese review of the .338, used google translate on what I could 'HOP UP appearance similar to the VSR Lighter than gas version heavier than maruzen Vsr-10 general-purpose part, including ........ Cylinder, cylinder head, the racket head (piston head maybe?), tail, top, hopup rubber, 45 degree sear and set-pin L96AWS tube (barrel probably) (500mm long) Two white apron (… I'm guessing this is refering to the cylinder spacers?) of the other original vsr-10 receiver needs the right amount of tinkering before they are packed on aw.338'
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 18, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted October 18, 2012 Ares have just posted this on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/ph...e=1&theater The AW .338 is one of the compatible models, anyone recognise the system? Look familiar to VSR internals or anything? I wish there was more info on this kit... Like what it enables you to do, in detail. As well as the price. That'd be good. I've still not found a UK shop stocking the OD version of the rifle though, even RedWolf has sold all the ones they had. The second one comes in I'm getting it through, I'll find a way to make it good if it sucks lol. Just so determined to have one.
joshcowin
it is vsr internals mate.its £299.99 and you can get the od body from fire support
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 18, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted October 18, 2012 I can only find the gas rifles and associated parts on Fire-Support, are you sure they do the spring one?
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 31, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted October 31, 2012 Finally found a user review: Still nothing on the internals, as such, but this guy gives it a thumbs up and the feeding mechanism doesn't use the Marui system, which means the BBs won't be marked during the loading process, so there's no chance of a loss in accuracy. If I can find one anywhere, in OD, I'm buying it for definite. In fact I'm going to email RedWolfUK right now and enquire about getting one. Comp_uter15776
Js guys, if you ring up Redwolf UK and ask for a quote they may have some in stock, they just don't have a website (still).
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted December 1, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted December 1, 2012 I tried them a few weeks ago whilst also enquiring about how buying from them works and they replied with this, "Unfortunately these are currently not available at all ! How ordering with RW-UK works ............ Visit the shop or email us at [email protected] for the UK price The Uk price includes all the extras such as Import tax, VAT, charges and International shipping we can also ship locally (within Europe) for additional cost If you want a product from the website but we do not have it in the UK, we can order it for you after taking a 20% deposit (non returnable) Please include product codes from the website in your email for more rapid quoting Regards, Gaz Perkins" So it would seem that video posted in another thread somewhere, when Arclight says the UK price has all shipping and tax removed, is wrong. Which means that the only reason anyone has to get anything from them, is to not have to worry about customs. 'Cos there's no guarantee they won't massively rip you off by charging a stupid amount more than the price and then just saying it was due to customs and shipping taxes etc... Kinda bummed out by it tbh. It's £300 in their HK store, + Vat that's another £60, shipping and taxes will probably add on another £60 again so it's probably looking at being around the £400 - £450 mark. Which is a bit mental =[ They do actually stock the black version at JD Airsoft, but I've tried emailing them about it and I just never get a response. If they'd get the OD one in, I'd get it from them, because it's the same gun through and through, but it's only £300.

Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted December 4, 2012 Author Supporters Share Posted December 4, 2012 I've had a reply from JD now, they're getting some in around Christmas - 3rd week December. £300 for the black one, with AI trades by ASG. They sell the OD body kit for it for a mere £35, so that's £335 + postage, which is much cheaper than it'd be to import, or get from RWUK. Now I just need to hope that JD actually do get some in when they say, then I can use my January student loan to upgrade the buggery out of it!
