handguards and stuff?

So... My DE M904G. Shes awesome in every way. Only i'd like to make her longer.

Size envy, if you will. Its a man thing. :D

So, having scoured the ads on here a LOT, i have come to the conclusion i have no clue what im doing. Gearboxes? fine. barrels and hops? yup, all good.

Handguards? ooooh dear. no clues.

So the DE badger has a little nut that, when you turn it, expands, locking the handguard in place (mostly) then theres 4 little stealth screws that, once youve painted your rif, become nigh on impossible to notice, causing much irritation... :)

My questions are these....

Can i fit a longer handguard from anything? assuming i need the "nut" as well?

Longer outer barrels should fit the receiver and do up with the original nut?

Obviously its going to need a longer INNER barrel, that bit i can do without confusing myself.

Where is all the OEM stuff hiding after everyone has fitted a daniel defence doodah with bells and whistles? (who is daniel, and why does the man need so much stuff to defend himself????)

I'm guessing its going to need the dremel and some thinking.......

Hooooookay.

1) any thing that is AR based, but not 416/417/SR25 for example. Some are specific to things like MWS or PTW so watch out for that but as long as it says AEG compatible and isn't off an AK you should be fine.

2) the original nut is most likely specific to THAT handguard but any decent handguard should come with its own barrel nut (unless you're going old school and want a delta ring arrangement but I doubt that). Also, if you buy a G&P barrel make sure it isn't a taper fit one or you'll need an extra adapter.

3) yeah, let us know how THAT goes!  /jk

4) what OEM stuff are you meaning?

If you need a Dremel to fit a handguard to (basically) an M4, you done fucked up somewhere. You MIGHT need a specific tool for the barrel nut if you get something like a URX4 but that's a whole different story.

Cheers Lozart, that's kinda what I was after.

The OEM stuff I was referring to is the bits that people take off and fit the Carlos Fandango version. 😂

I'll buy something shortly and see if I can't ruin a perfectly good rif. 😂😂

Showing your age with the Carlos Fandango reference there!

All y OE parts are littered about the place in various boxes and bags "just in case" but you could just flog them off here.

Right, I'm off to have a smooth, mellow cigar...

For anyone not old enough to recall the days when you could have smoking adverts that implied they made you sexy....

Definitely showing my age there 😂😂

Between that and the "Ooooh Geordie" tango advert....ahh Thems were the days! 😂😂

You mean back when ads were only banned when kids defended their mates copying it, rather than a few people had a sense of humour failure and complained?
