I'm trying to contact my site about renewing my UKARA but they've left me on read three times now, is there another way to get it renewed?

Has your Site membership expired?

The site I use, you have to have an active site membership for your UKARA to be setup and then renewed

The short answer is no

The long answer is nooooooooooo

Bear in mind that for many site owners running the site isn't their full time job so might have more important things to do. Patience is a virtue

No, I got my UKARA before they introduced a site membership

I'll keep waiting for sure, just find it odd that they view the messages and don't say anything to at least confirm they saw my query

It was back in around 2021-2022 when I got my UKARA, All I had to do was play around 3-5 games (Can't remember specifically) to be eligible to get my UKARA, nowadays they offer an annual paid membership which one of the benefits is eligibility for UKARA

The letters/numbers on the ukara database were the site membership, the site just didn't charge you for it. The only difference is that they now charge for it but throw in extras such as discounts on game fees. Also it only lasts for 12 months so if it hadn't been renewed since then you'll need to go through the whole 3 games in no less than 2 months again

You'll prob need to start again...  using the site is the best way to renew your UKARA, if you don't want to go back to that site then attend games at another UKARA registered site, it's your job to keep your UKARA up to date by playing at the site you attained your UKARA origonally.

In my case, renewing my annual membership gets my UKARA number renewed with it though I played more than enough occasions several times over since I got the latter anyway.

With a couple of recent events involving morons open-carrying imitation firearms and blank firing guns in public or in areas visible to the public, I'd imagine sites that register with UKARA are more "by the book" now so you should expect to play the 3 games over again.

One of the main reasons I started to play regularly at one site, just to re-register with a ukara site, and paused my nomadic site visiting behaviours of recent

That’s a fair assumption, but I less inclined to say it’s morons

Morons will always be morons

I’m more inclined to say that it’s irrelevant as to whether a sites underlying membership is free or paid - I am of course reading between the lines as @veylo has opted to message the site asking about renewing three seperate times - either they are impatient or it implies to me that they might not use the site, because otherwise they could ask when there

They of course might be playing the site  but don’t play enough in relation to the newer paid membership.  In this case it’s the sights policy now to have paid membership, and UKARA is a central registry of site memberships

Even when sites process membership and UKARA validation for free, it’s not just their admin time but they have to maintain site membership themselves at a cost

The UKARA was born out of a need to cover the retail industry under the VCRA, but also to hopefully give the participating sites a regular customer base - if that worked for the site then it’s probably worth a free membership scheme, if it’s no longer working then they can choose other options such as paid membership
