APV
We have a 3d printer but I don't think that will help in this case - does anyone have any ideas?
Moderators Tackle Posted January 6 Moderators Share Posted January 6 Forget trying to repair it, you could put an ad in the "parts wanted" section, bound to be members who have upgraded to metal bodies have these sitting in the spares box ? mightyjebus
the tabs snapping was quite a common problem with these old TM rifles. If you still have the broken tabs then you could cut metal tabs from a coke can and epoxy it on again using the coke can tabs as reinforcement. The easier option would be a replacement metal upper and lower receiver however you will need a hop unit as well as the old TM M4's had a 2 piece hop unit that only fit the TM plastic receivers. Back in the early days of Airsoft Guarder, Hurricane and Systema made some very good replacement receivers.
Colin Allen
One thing I did on a similar gun years ago was to drill small holes in the back of the upper receiver and glue metal pins into them so that they stuck out backwards, sliding under the upper part of the lower receiver when assembled. I'm having a clearout over the next week or so, pretty sure I have an old TM plastic receiver. I'll let you know!
