Mini airsoft
I have a VFC M249 with green gas box magazine but it has cooling issue like all other green gas gun, will the Co2 box magazine do better?
GiantKiwi
Just HPA it - CO2 is worse for cooldown than Green Gas.

I just bought a CO2 pistol and now wondering if i've screwed up? 🤔

If you're gung-ho or a sneaky beaky bush wookie you might need it, I'm sure most players don't. Anonymoose
Nick G
5 hours ago, GiantKiwi said: Just HPA it - CO2 is worse for cooldown than Green Gas. Not my experience of it . The CO2 box mag is very good , I find I go through much more ammo than with the green gas mag as longer bursts are not a problem for it and the 249 properly rocks along on CO2. That said, there are a couple of issues that we have come across. First the size capsules the mag is designed to use are not easily available in the UK, most of us are running 88g capsules, but that does require modding the mag as they are longer. We have also had a couple of occurances of the hose failing, although it's any easy fix. Have a read through the VFC M249 thread in the gas section. They can be converted to hpa and then use an aeg mag, but for most of us that spoiles a big part of going GBBR, mag changes , limited ammo , not looking like a ghostbuster , if you want to spray and pray go hpa. Horses for courses , but the CO2 mag is worthwhile for winter use. I used the Green gas one all summer without any issues . seanieglasgow

Which one have you bought? Anonymoose

I have a 4.5mm one and love it, it's beautifully made and finished. Hopefully this one will be the same. 🤞🏻

The lad had his serviced by Sam at Kingdom of Airsoft, who did an amazing job on it.

I have a few and think i need a G45 too to do a custom build and full-auto conversion.. 🤔 The Novritsch SSP18 is quite appealing as well. Do you run them on CO2 all year round? I had the hose on my CO2 box mag fail, but I contacted VFC and they are shipping a replacement hose to me One possible solution to the cool down problem with the green gas tank is to get some small, single use hand warmers and place one or two around the tank to help heat it up. Moderators Tackle Posted Friday at 16:07 Moderators Share Posted Friday at 16:07 1 hour ago, Jbllulu said: Yes, a CO₂ box magazine will likely resolve the cooling issue and provide more consistent performance for your VFC M249, especially during prolonged or rapid firing. However, double-check your gun’s specifications and consider reinforcing key components if needed. If you're primarily dealing with cooling issues and not extreme cold, you might also explore HPA (High-Pressure Air) systems for an even more stable and customizable performance. Very helpful new member, very informative first post, but probably copy & pasted from somewhere else as he's in Nigeria, not exactly known for its airsoft community 😏 👋 Nick G and Cannonfodder 1
