Supporters Adolf Hamster Posted February 12, 2021 Supporters Share Posted February 12, 2021 http://perunairsoft.pl/products/nozz-x/ was debating wether or not to sell my soul to Gate and finally start running a titan in my main ak and whilst looking to see if perun offered anything in v3 stumbled upon this. seems like an interesting concept, although i do worry if it would suffer from f2000 spring syndrome where you start the day with perfection and by the end it's unwound itself. Supporters Sitting Duck Posted February 12, 2021 Supporters Share Posted February 12, 2021 I think it is a good innovation for trouble-shooting ergh shooting issues... stuff like ICS M4 nozzle is smaller than SHS 21.4mm nozzle or Galaxy MP5K is not the MP5 nozzle but SHS M4 length (but the shoulder is too wide & needs reducing) some AK's like long AK nozzle & others prefer the shorter one odd/bespoke guns like SIG 552's if you can't find a SIG nozzle and/or tappet issues or feed problems etc... however once you diagnose the nozzle to the particular hop unit & sussed what exact length is required to resolve issues you might be having then yeah - if poss, I'd sooner get a fixed nozzle the desired length/spec I can see it being more for trouble-shooting say a built from scratch gun where the odd qwirk creeps in to diagnose/resolve/fine tune etc... but would aim for a fixed nozzle once all sorted - good idea all the same
Supporters Adolf Hamster Posted February 12, 2021 Author Supporters Share Posted February 12, 2021 yeah i can see what you mean. good thing about running ak's is the aftermarket hop unit of choice comes with its own nozzle
Piman
This concept has been around for a while now with Retro Arms & Maxx Model also having adjustable nozzles. They are useful when you start to use non original parts together (e.g. changing the hop). They do need sealing once you know the exact length you need (to stop them self adjusting and having a small air leak through the threads). Use some PTFE tape initially for this. You could then leave it at that as it should remain in place but I then tend to prefer to switch to thread lock, but only when I am 100% happy, as it is very difficult to undo once set. The extra from Perun is the option of 2 different nozzle end profiles. They say this is to suit different hop rubbers but give no indication what works with what. I have one I have yet to try in a build but will hopefully try this soon. James
