I was also at this event, on one of the US special forces teams and I must say, what I saw and experienced does not match up with your account.  Whether I was in the group you had perceived issues with, I don't know but regardless, I didn't see a single instance of non hit taking.  Nor did Josh or any other staff member/marshal mention anyone on the enemy team had made any accusations about non hit taking.  We had an excellent medic who was generally ideally located to get people back in the fight.  The weight of BBs in one of our LMGs (mine, which was our LMG for Saturday morning) was questioned by a marshal and I confirmed 0.3s.  This was perhaps after you got shot in the face at 10m.  If it was indeed me that shot you in that instance, I do apologize but I think it needs to be known that the context wasn't that I saw someone out in the open and then just decided to aim at their face and full auto as I certainly wouldn't do that.  I would say 90% of engagements happened through vegetation and I'm sure you'll agree, in many instances it was a case of shooting through leaves where you could just about make someone out.  And an LMG is decent at that kind of thing.   I don't recall shooting at anyone close up in full auto fwiw.

What exactly were the complaints coming from the US side?  I'm intrigued.

There were two groups from what I gathered. One was great and nobody had issues with them, and one was not-so-great and I heard complaints all through the day about them. I think we got into a firefight with your lot very early on the Saturday and I didn't have any issues with that firefight. People took their hits on both sides (I tagged one and then watched him hoping he'd bait in the medic who never showed up :() and the remnants of our group eventually fell back because there were only like... 3 of us left and we didn't fancy our chances with the Aussies and other US special forces group patrolling around. The guy who full auto'd me in the face did it after I was hit and waving my medic bandage around (so if that was you, for shame! :P), and was way after we had fallen back from engaging what I assume to be your group, regrouped with another NVA unit and then got sandwiched between this other group and one of the Aussie teams. I don't want people to think that I was saying that all the NATO guys were awful, that couldn't be further from the truth; every group was great on both sides, apart from one group which was notably awful.

And as much as I said the other group sucks, it still doesn't top my first Vietnam game a few years back where some guy squared up to me and wanted to start a fight after I told him that none of our objectives were in our spawn and were all out on people in the field because the US weren't allowed to be in our spawn. That was a... um... interesting encounter.

In terms of the complaints I heard from the US side, they were limited (as I was VC and only spoke to a few US guys who were camped near us), but the complaints I heard were basically around bad attitudes. Obviously they're not going to have the same non-hit-taking complaints as we had of them because they weren't shooting at them. At least, I hope they wouldn't be :D
