Lambster
Hi guys. Just bought one of these and was just wondering about upgrades. What I want to do is get a foregrip on the front And A holo Or RD scope on it. I've had a look around and see that the G&G RIS systems are discontinued, but will any others fit it at all? Or do I have to hope that I can find someone selling these old bits? Much appreciated.
Russe11
MP5's are all pretty compatible with one another. http://www.taiwangun.com/en/hand-guard-for-mp5-cm?from=listing http://www.taiwangun.com/en/r-i-s-for-mp5-cm?from=listing Bear in mind that the standard wide foregrip is by far the most comfortable to use. A torch foregrip is a cheaper option than adding a torch via a RIS fitting and RIS based foregrips are harder to put batteries in. Get a torch foregrip and collapsible stock if you do much CQB and indoor stuff, you don't need much more than that http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=2597 To add a sight you will need one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/TopOutdoor-Tactical-GSG-5-Aluminum-Picatinny/dp/B00DXXTOGW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394368313&sr=8-1&keywords=mp5+rail Available just about anywhere and usually pretty cheap. Do not get the longer version as the supports on it interrupt the rail so you cannot fit sights with longer rail attachments to it at all.
Lambster
Thanks for that.I do really like the torch grip from zero one. I do need a vertical grip though as I have issues with my wrist and bending it in to a position to hold without a vertical grip is painful. So I'm looking at that first link from Taiwan Gun. Maybe I can then find a RIS torch and attach it to the side?I'll definitely get that scope rail from amazon. I was looking at buying a G&G one for £30 so that's a huge saving. EDIT: Also, I really like the sliding stock. Would I be able to get one and fit it on this gun? The batteries are in the stock. I take it they can be moved? Airsoft_Mr B
If the battery is in the stock and you'd like to have a collapsible / stocking stock, you'll have to rear-wire it to the front.
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted March 9, 2014 Supporters Share Posted March 9, 2014 I used to have the same gun and I was reluctant to throw money at add ons for it because G&G can be really weird with their external part fitment.Mine came with a top rail, if yours didn't then you can get claw RIS mounts for about £15 or so and that'll sort your optics out. G&G sell their own hand guards and stocks that you'll be able to guarantee will fit, but they're both about £80 a piece and I don't personally like the design of either of them, so I just ran mine how it came out of the box the whole time I had it. On the upside, the performance is so amazeballs that internal upgrades are totally pointless in my eyes.

Lambster
Bloody hell. They cost more than I paid for the gun! That's going to have to be something for later on this year I think. Maybe I'll just get that vertical grip one from Taiwan gun for £16 and tape a torch next to it. Under £9 for a claw RIS mount is good though, I'll be getting that. Thanks for the links and advice guys.

Lambster
Thanks guys. I emailed Taiwan Gun to just double check if this http://www.taiwangun.com/en/hand-guard-for-mp5-cm?from=listing Would fit my gun. They said they don't have any guns like mine in stock so can't test it. I'd have thought they'd have known. Not sure if I should risk it. Really can't be doing with wasting any more money after my last money making scheme failed! Lol
Russe11
Given that the only G&G foregrip I saw was described as suitable for any TM compatible MP5 and Cyma MP5's are TM clones, I would assume that it should fit. As far as I am aware, all MP5's are compatible with each other for external parts.
Russe11
Looking at my torch foregrip, I reckon if you get a short RIS rail and drill holes in the bottom of the grip and bolt the RIS rail to the grip with big washers on the inside it would work quite well. Would be a lot cheaper than other options.

Lambster
I worked out my finances and decided that work pay me too much, so bought a G&G GR16 CQW Rush instead. Trying to sell this now but not desperate to do so. Lol
