Sako
I have been trying to find a higher cap magazine for my cheap and cheerful BOYI CH-3081A, but have come stuck unfortunately, anyone have a link to one that will fit/work please. Also as I'm new to this what BB' s would you recommend to purchase at the same time. Thanks for reading, Chris
Supporters Lozart Posted January 20, 2014 Supporters Share Posted January 20, 2014 Can you post a picture of the top of the magazine? If it's not anything special you should be able to use pretty much any M4/M16 style magazine. Personally though I would strongly advise that you bin it and get yourself a proper one G&G Combat Machine or DYTAC Combat Series for example. Sako
I will be getting a better .model shortly, but want to see how I get on with the club here as its a 100 mile round trip to the site, so I don't want to commit too much money on it yet, I have been looking at the combat machine models, but would probably buy the best I can afford once the time comes to make sure I get something high quality. I will post a picture soon. Thanks for replying.
Russe11
High cap M4 magazine if you like winding http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/M4_M16_Magazines.html Box of midcaps if you don't http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/copy_of_M4_M16_Magazines.html I would suggest you think about what gun you will want in a few months time. If it will be an M4 then get magazines you think will look good with it. If it will be something else then buy cheap magazines. Get some 0.2g bb's, anything less can shatter inside the gun, anything more and your gun will struggle to shoot them with enough speed.
CES_williamson
wait does the "BOYI" rifle take normal mags?? or do they look a little different i just have a feeling they are different shape to normal mags but may be wrong?
Sako
Russell you have been incredibly helpful, as has all the other posters, thank you. I am away to upload a picture of my mag to make sure it fits, the next rifle will also be an M4 type, so will choose a decent looking mid-cap mag. Russe11
hmm, that looks a bit different to a normal M4 mag. Does the place you bought it from sell spare mags? Is your current magazine a high cap (does it have a windy wheel on the bottom)? If so it will be fast to reload and you can possibly survive with just the one. If it is Mid or low cap (loaded with a speed loader and no windy wheel) then you have a problem. If you can't get a spare mag and it's a mid or low cap mag, you could possibly carry some speed loaders around. http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2elandwarriorairsoft%2ecom%2facatalog%2fMiscellaneous%2ehtml&WD=speed%20loader&PN=SRC-Large-M4-Style-Speed-Loader-JD_P107%2ehtml#.Ut2XV9JFBrQ Other options are to rent a gun for a few games *best option* Buy a better gun (G&G combat machine is recommended) Get a pistol so you can defend yourself while out of ammo. If you go for the 3rd option then http://www.onlybbguns.co.uk/hfc-hg-302-mk23-airsoft-gas-pistol.html?filter_name=mk23#.Ut2bcNJFBrQ the HFC MK23 is a fantastic cheap pistol, it's 2 tone but looks good in metalic blue and it will also help you hit stuff your rifle can't. Don't buy any of the other guns on that site without asking about them. The coupon code OBBG5 will get you £5 off orders over £50. Downsides of that pistol are that it is huge and you will have problems finding a holster, it's non blowback so some people will consider it less fun, fixed hop up and it's mainly plastic. It does however have a 28 round magazine, it's light enough to use one handed despite it's size and it has an internal barrel extension in the silencer which makes it very good for accuracy and range. I sometimes ditch my main weapon and play a short game with just that pistol.
Sako
Hi Russell, my mag isn't a winding hi cap, it holds about 35 - 40 rounds max, the place I bought it doesn't have any spares, he had a few of these guns that never sold and was letting them go for £25, so I grabbed one, just thought there would have been mags available, but I'm away to get a G and G combat machine in the next couple of weeks. CaptainSwoop
That is different to a 'standard' M4 mag I am afraid.
