Silentassasin Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Morning everyone! Ive been out of the scene for a while and recently started to build a new gun to start playing again! I have seen alot of chat about hop up bucking can anyone tell me what it is and does? Thanks
Supporters jcheeseright Posted January 15, 2014 Supporters Posted January 15, 2014 it's another word for hop rubber.
Supporters jcheeseright Posted January 15, 2014 Supporters Posted January 15, 2014 No I'm fucking with you, a hop bucking is actually a quantum flux capacitation field effect generator for your airsoft gun. Yes. It's as simple as that.
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted January 16, 2014 Supporters Posted January 16, 2014 What, he should have said, "I'm sorry to break it to you, but Hop Up Bucking is just another name for Hop Rubber. Would you like a cup of tea or can I email a friend for you or anything?"?
Silentassasin Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Im over it already! Me and my hop RUBBER have been happy for many years! You cant change me! Pffftt Bucking REALLY lol
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted January 16, 2014 Supporters Posted January 16, 2014 I'm not sure on this, so maybe someone can tell us, but I suspect it's only called a "bucking" because that is a bad translation of whatever the Japanese call it.
Supporters Esoterick Posted January 16, 2014 Supporters Posted January 16, 2014 No I blame the yanks, they like changing words for no apparent reason.
inhen Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Yeah what's up with that!?! I was watching a vid entitled "how to solder deans connectors"... and this American guy kept going on about saw-der or sauder or saaaader or something, couldn't understand a word of it!

The Japanese call it a chamber packing I believe. I always call the bucking the actual piece of the rubber which contact the BB to give it hop, also commonly mistakenly called the 'nub'.

Just don't ask them to pronounce aluminium or route ....
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted January 17, 2014 Supporters Posted January 17, 2014 No, no, lads... Moscow! I mean ffs, in Russian it's spelled Moskva, but Muscovites make it sound like Moorskva, so... OK, back in the day, when the Hanseatic League was the UN of its day, and the majority of English was spoken in an accent somewhere between Yorkshire and Geordie by people so cosmopolitan that a trip to the outside privvy was worthy of note, let alone a conversation with t' furiners from t'other end o't'village*, we can easily imagine that Slavic suffixes were beyond the ken of those who came up with "Mosko" as a pronunciation and fair dos, people had to write that down in a way which distinguished the final 'o' from the more usual pronunciation of the 'o' long vowel 'or'... but to then look at the result and see "cow" as in "moo" takes a special kind of insular pigheadedness... *I shit ye not. There was a case somewhere in the North East during one of our wars with France where a sailor came ashore with a Barbary Ape and the townspeople set on it and hanged it as a Frenchman! I think we should start a campaign of pronouncing "Way-shine-gtone".
Supporters jcheeseright Posted January 17, 2014 Supporters Posted January 17, 2014 *I sh*t ye not. There was a case somewhere in the North East during one of our wars with France where a sailor came ashore with a Barbary Ape and the townspeople set on it and hanged it as a Frenchman! Hartlepool. Still get called monkey hangers now!
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted January 17, 2014 Supporters Posted January 17, 2014 Hartlepool. Still get called monkey hangers now! Yeah, that's the stylee: so cosmopolitan that if it's a primate and isn't human, it's a monkey. Or as the yanks would no doubt have it (in Buttfuck Louisiana and spreading) mon-quai pronounced in the French way.
