Ares G36C..

Judging by what happened to Ed's Ares sniper rifle, I'd stay away from them. If you're after a G36 go for SRC, but only the Gen 3 ones if you can.

If you can't find any Gen 3 SRC G36Cs then a G&G combat machine gun would be your best bet.

The Ares G36CV is actually really reliable. Very good high end G36 and has some blowback if you want it. Easy to maintain and for a very good price.

You can't really judge the whole Ares range from on persons sniper going wrong. Watch some YouTube reviews on the Ares G36CV if you want to know more about it

My Ares L1A1 looks beautiful.

She is a pig inside though.

Ares have a bad rep for guns not working for long, however I have heard people say that their G36's are fine before, from our own dear Tariq for one, who is our resident G36 expert.

If you get a Gen III SRC G36, change the hop rubber because the stock one is shit (I have an SRC Gen III G36KV). They are good. The Gen II is not worth getting - you'll have to upgrade a lot of it fairly soon after buying it, which will cost way more than the difference in price between the Gen II & III, and be a real PITA.

No G&G don't make a G36 - they do make parts for G36's though... the weirdos!

Im a H&K nut but have never got the G36. CA make one and Pro Airsoft Supplies stock them but the other forum members will tell you if they are any good.

My son is eyeing up the FN Scar.

If I had to get a G36 then TM recoil or KWA would be the only two I'd even consider.

For once, I'd say ARES managed to not completely balls up a design with their G36.

True, the original batch was shocking, and was about as reliable as a Soviet nuclear power station - but the newer models (2013+) actually work quite well.

I've got one, as has a team mate. Mine is barely used, but his has seen more than 19K rounds in 6 months with no trouble. Should something break, parts are pretty easy to source.

Problems - they come out of the box with a ridiculous FPS. Mine was pushing 470FPS. The supplied magazine is a bit... crap. The iron-sights are made of a rather poor quality plastic (but they work). Other than that, it looks like a G36C, the plastic is fine (it feels similar to the real-deal), and it generally shoots where you want it to.

It's not a terrible gun (which truly is amazing for ARES) - but it's not perfect. I'd say it depends entirely on your budget - how far can you go?
