Mike1971
As the title says, There have been rumors, even speculation and voiced confessions of people opening an air soft site in East yorkshire. But(and this is a Jenifer Lopez size butt) nobody has managed to make this happen yet, can anyone tell me why? Its even been posted on here that there will be one opening! Hudson
Hey fella; whereabouts in E. Yorks are you?I've just moved from Sunny(??) Brid to Monkey-loving Hartlepool a couple of months ago. Used to game regularly at Centurion which was a thirty minute drive over the border at Scarborough, and you've also got Airsoft Commandos just outside near Selby. Hudson
But anyway, to answer the question; it's probably because besides the relatively low population (and thus concentration of airsofters) there's hardly sod-all decent land suitable for skirmishing in East Yorks on a viable scale; the few places that might be okay generally aren't interested in allowing skirmishing on their land.Unlike the other three Yorkshire counties, there's not too much decent-sized woodland around; most of the place is either open farmland or beaches & cliffs, and the only decent sized-towns are Hull and York; so the choice for Urban sites is reduced straight away. :/Once you get into West or South Yorkshire; there's plenty of sites available; around a dozen within the Leeds/Sheffield area alone but the absolutely shambles of East Yorks roads means you'd be looking at unecessarily long travel times for anyone travelling from outside the area... Mike1971
HI Hudson, I'm in Beverley. The nearest sites to me are Arena in Grimsby or LAC, lincolnshire. Then centurion north of me.
Supporters sp00n Posted August 2, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 2, 2013 <<<< waiting for the hull site (its gunna be called slaughter house skirmish iirc) to open , also for the barton site to open, and i may give the new site in grimsby ago (an optac site on a ship iirc, but i may be wrong) i am a member of arena (kinda gone off it abit as its too easy to get spawn camped , and getting shot in my goggles from almost point blank is not fun! ) i have been to LAC alot (at both there current sites, and i am told they are going to have annother site open soon). i have not been to centurion yet, ... its abit of a drive from Hull on a side note, the hull site is not the first to try and open, there was one that was going to be called "green man down" but as far as i can tell, thats not going to happen now. Fumps
Yeh I'm new to the sport & am really confused at the lack of sites dotted around Leeds area. I'm originally from Pontefract & know that there are loads of land out that way that are unused & would be perfect for Airsoft. If I knew what I was doing I'd definitely look into setting something up in that area. It's right next to the old A1 & M62 so it would be great for getting there.
