Guest PT247
just found via google a review written by Airsoft Ed, on the L85 which was a really good read with some good future mods I may dabble with. I am reasonably new to airsofting myself, started playing in May with a borrowed gun from a mate. I now have an ICS L85 Carbine AEG, have just fitted a SUSAT and have the DD quad rail on order. I love the gun, am ex RN so the L85/L86 was a natural choice for me. I need to do some tweeks to increase its long range accuracy but am more than happy with how it performs on medium range contacts.I am a bit of a pistol fan at the moment and have just purchased a second P99 GBB by Umarex and have extended mags for them so I can go duel-wield on suicide runs, I also like to hide as stealthy as I can without firing a single shot in the middle of the play area until the opposition is right on me and getting multiple pistol kills up close and personal, very funny seeing their faces when I let rip when they had no idea I was so close to them! Anyhows, hi peeps :-)

Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted July 28, 2013 Supporters Share Posted July 28, 2013 I've managed to get loads of people to join off the back of my reviews, especially my sniper one. I ought to get some sort of financial reward, eh Dev?
Guest PT247
haha From what I have read about the DD quad rail I am gonna have to mod it when it arrives to fit my carbine, was sure I'd read elsewhere that it would fit fine tho. Anyone know how I'll have to mod it?
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted July 29, 2013 Supporters Share Posted July 29, 2013 Not a clue, sorry. you might be able to buy an L85 gasblock assembly from Firesupport and just mount it in the same way as the standard rifle, with the standard rifle gas block. Though I'm not sure if the outer barrel of the carbine would fit the gas block in the same way. I think the Carbine shares the same handguard as the L86 though, so if you could get it on a Carbine, you could get it on an L86. Which would be... Interesting. Guest PT247
will have to wait and see I guess. Ordered from Hong Kong so think have another two weeks till it turns up damn it. Had been trying to order bits from the USA to save money but even though I am asking them to deliver to Florida a lot of companies wont sell to a UK customer. :-( Managed to get my 2nd P99 for the same price in Dollars as my first cost Sterling, just need to get a new barrel cover to get rid of the silly orange tip

Will post some pics up when it arrives! :-)
