Supporters sp00n Posted August 11, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 11, 2013 Back when I was in cadets, I knew 3 fellow cadets who threw a couple of live blanks into a lit hex'ey burner then tried to retrieve them one had powder burns at the back of his eye not good
TacMaster
Who could be daft enough to throw blanks into a hexi cooker? Hexi's dangerous by itself, if you have more than 3 burning you produce a 7 foot signal flame, and if that's not bad enough the fumes are poisonous. They smell of fish as well. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted August 12, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 12, 2013 *cough* Dynatec make the BFG, SWAT make the VTG... *Cough* BFG stands for Blank Firing Grenade. It is a very open term, not to be used as terminology for one specific product, unless you're a dick. So they're both BFGs. That's the same shit F&O tried to pull when I called them out on their website saying "9mm BFGs allowed" and then not letting me use my SWAT one. adam bussey
I'm going to see about getting some BFGs and regulations on getting blanks?
Tariq
might be an open term, but in terms if business, you can't call your product the same, or risk a lawsuit. effectively it is a product name rather than the description. F&O are a bit of an arse banning the swat ones though. no Adam there arnt really any regulations. just need to be 18 to purchase them. and don't walk around setting them off in public... fireworks laws etc
GiantKiwi
Don't mean SWAT? Tornado grenades are those crappy gas powered ones that dribble BBs out in a "tornado". Don't know what gas you've been using in them, the bb's certainly don't 'dribble' out, have had one land in my lap. I wasn't walking much for 15 minutes afterwards. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted August 14, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 14, 2013 I've seen them used twice, and the first time I had to tell people they were out that were around me because they didn't hear, nor feel it go off. The second time was more recently when someone threw it against a wall because they thought there was a window there and it went off in his hand and he didn't even flinch or anything. GiantKiwi
Ah, I didn't realise there were different kinds. Impacts and Timed, Impacts can be forcibly thrown at concrete and still not go off, and if they do, it still doesn't guarantee anything. Timed ones are guaranteed to go off, either at 1.5s or 3s (only set to 1.5 if you are good at pulling the pin fast, as its under alot of tension, pull it too slow, hello faceful of bb's)
