Supporters Finius Posted January 1, 2013 Supporters Share Posted January 1, 2013 AF-UK! It's New-Year-New-Loadout time again, and this time I've decided to go all out. I've got the plan mostly sorted, right down to tactical underpants and stuff (I actually have some rather sporting hawaiian floral underpants which will do nicely). But what's causing me grief is the helmet. Essentially, what I want is this: Which looks freaking awesome. The problem is, I have absolutely no idea where to start gathering the proper bits together! So far, my best guess is the following as a base: http://www.actionhob...-FG_A10IX2.aspx Which has the NVG "socket" mount, and the side rails, it's also got SOME of the velcro and the goggle bungees. What I need to find though is an NVG mount and dummy NVG, some more velcro and most importantly, the comms (goggles and an imitation strobe not so hard). I'm not too worried about spot on accuracy (I know the helmet is a slightly different shape and has holes in, for a start), I just want to achieve the general look. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers, Tom.
Supporters M_P Posted January 1, 2013 Supporters Share Posted January 1, 2013 Ebairsoft should have most of the stuff you need http://www.ebairsoft.com/l4g19-mount-aluminum-nylon-tb623-p-6684.html I guess that mount could work, I've never really looked into NVG's and mounts but it looks close enough http://www.ebairsoft.com/headset-helmet-rail-adapter-p-5384.html mounts for headset http://www.ebairsoft.com/ztactical-z036-comtac-veripsc-headset-p-5959.html headset These look like they should go together http://www.ebairsoft.com/emerson-dummy-2000-distress-marker-em8450-p-5532.html and that's a mock ms2000 thing Then you'd just need some goggles and a dummy nvg
Nickona
As MM has pointed out, just go to china! all of that over here would cost an arm and a leg!
geoffreym
http://www.ebairsoft.com/fast-helmet-p-5383.html I've got the same helmet and as long as you replace the plastic screws it is great.
Supporters Finius Posted March 24, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted March 24, 2013 Bringing this thread back to life. Currently trying to source an IBH, Mich2002 or Fast helmet from somewhere in the UK. Any variant okay as long as it has an NVG mount, velcro and rails on it... Anyone got any ideas? Supporters jcheeseright Posted March 25, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 25, 2013 just out of interest, why in the UK? you'll end up paying a premium in price for maybe a week's quicker delivery time! I bought my ops-core ballistic helmet from www.dragonredairsoft.com and cannot rate them highly enough! As for dummy NVGs and mounts, all of the asia sites do them, though I've found that RSOV have the best selection, closely followed by airsoft-park. Supporters Ian_Gere Posted March 26, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 26, 2013 Look no further - I'm a helmet at times! No, here you go.
Supporters Finius Posted March 26, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted March 26, 2013 Having browsed the options in the UK, I decided to go with jcheeseright. The UK options DO charge a massive premium and don't offer the choice really. Went off and ordered myself this: http://dragonredairsoft.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_40&products_id=219 Now just need to trick it out! Supporters M_P Posted March 26, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 26, 2013 UK retailers always overcharge I've more or less given up buying in the UK unless I need something in a hurry.

masadanator
In my opinion the best Ops core FAST Ballistic replica you can get is from Dragonred airsoft i got mine from them and i haven't had a problem with it
Supporters jcheeseright Posted April 2, 2013 Supporters Share Posted April 2, 2013 yep, I bought the deluxe ballistic one they do and the ONLY issue I had with it was the printing of the multicam, apart from that it's flawless, the pads are comfy, the head-loc thing works and the VAS shroud is made to a decent enough standard that I'll actually trust it to hold my NVGs. Supporters Finius Posted April 2, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted April 2, 2013 I opted for the cheaper version because I'm an epic cheapskate, but from what I've heard as long as you don't make it work too hard they're pretty good.
Supporters jcheeseright Posted April 2, 2013 Supporters Share Posted April 2, 2013 Yeah from what I can tell the differences between the basic and deluxe versions are pretty minor, thinner material for the helmet and different foam for the pads and straps.
