high caps / flash mags?

Sup everyone!

At the same time as I considered to switch my main weapon, I figured if I got 2-3 lonex flash mags I wouldn't have to carry my vest, tons of low/mids, speed loader and a bottle of bbs. figure it also wont make such difference since 95% of the times I'm on semi and never fire 90rds in one go, as for the sound, as mentioned I already carry a speed loader and a bottle. but maybe it's having it attached to the gun that makes the big sound difference?

any feedback, good or bad on lonex, or any hicaps usage for that sake? I'm a bit concerned about the hatch opening the wrong time, but maybe one can tape them before the games..

Cheers

I find that people exaggerate the noise cased by the highcaps. You have to be pretty careless when running to cause excessive noise. However not to say that it isn't there if you're not careful. Flash mags are wicked, you can pre-tense up the spring without damaging it longterm as that is what it is designed for.

I myself run 3 midcaps and 1 highcap for emergency situations when I have to cover my team mates.

If you're thinking of going down the hicap route I would go with the lonex flash mags, purely for the ease of winding.

And I can't see the hatch opening on its own.

Then again I only use midcaps, take from that what you wish :P

I used one a few weeks ago in a rental, don't worry about the door opening, can't realistically see it happening unless you really throw them around. They do feed a lot more rounds than 'normal' highs so that's probably another good point too.

So far we have only used hi-caps and bought a couple of flash mags just to save having to use the wind-up (can make a hole in your gloves over time).

Never had one come open and noise is not that big a deal. Two high caps should be more than enough for most games unless you are a real `spray' merchant.

Mid caps and low caps are better for `realism' and I know some players who carry 10x30 round low caps because thay say it is the ammo a real soldier would have. Some others feel that mid caps are realistic enough because a real gun is more accurate than an airsoft one and the extra ammo balances out the accuracy/range difference.

I run 5x120 round Mid caps, hell you can get the 190 Round MAG magazines which is more than enough.

I was thinking lonex flash mags purely for the winding, but it seems there's all sorts of good things about them:)

The latch opening I was thinking mostly if I carried them upside down in a kydex, then again, wont be a lot of tactical reloads with hicaps.. prob pop em (it) in my m90 zip pockets! I owned 7 hicaps.. one of them a really loose latch , some of them loose but not overly so, and I seen a few with broken latches..

I quite clearly stated I'm not doing any spraying:)

Ok completely off topic but.. I got over 10 mags in my rig currently. As for realism, how many hostiles does a "real" solider encounter in one day? When at full auto I have always thought that maybe it's more accurate to compare the time it takes to empty a magazine rather than how many rounds is in it..?

Possibly depends on your choice of gun. I've heard that Flash STANAG mags (M4 etc) are great, but the AK ones don't work too well...

If you're carrying a bottle, that is likely to much more noise than a hi-cap IMO. Personally I've changed from hi-caps to med-caps and I like not having to wind them up, but I also carry a full hi-cap "just in case". I will get a flash mag sooner or later when I see one I like the look and price of.

the bottle does make a lot of noise when running, althou when you stand still or move slowly it's silent, while I was thinking maybe a mag wont be as you will have o move your gun around

There are bad points with the flash mags to also be considered.

I've had 4,3 have broken, usually the pull cord spring,I repaired one but it was never the same, also had the pull cord snap..and I do look after my gear.

I found I used to rely on them due to their speed and ease of use.

Would I reccomend them? Yes for speed and ease of use but not for longevity.

And if as the OP says he's not gung-ho with the trigger there there would be no advantage, you find their advantages under fire.

2 hi-caps for the same money>>>!!!

Lonex,I have m8's that use them with no issues so far but mine were my primary mags,I don't think a mag of such ability is available....

What it is is that companies like ASG contract out stuff to be oem'd so they are designed but not made by lonex. Hence quality control can be hit and miss, my experience with lonex flash mags personally has been very good. Never had one break on me.
