Pandysec
Im new to the airsoft scene, but man its addictive after my mate gave me his m4 cqb which he didn't like, I've managed to buy the following: Red dot sight Front fore grip Rail torch Viper 3 point strap Box of ten 140rd mid cap mags 2 hi cap mags Black gun bag/case Bullseye sound suppressor (does nothing!) Fast charger and 2 x 1600mAh 9.6v batteries Then my clothing gear Viper specs Tactical ops black helmet 5.1 tactical gloves Viper tactical black shirt thing (which makes you sweat) Tactical black combats Elbow pads and knee pads black Black mag leg holster Black belt Flyee molle recon vest, front and back inc 4 mag holders, radio pouch and drinks pouch Assorted patches etc Pair of radios, one for me and my mate Air tube radio ear piece Arab scarf thing To be honest i tried it all on earlier, i looked like i was dropped straight out of swat! big mistake i made was, still wearing my thermals from work, i was sweating like a chicken in kfc! Might just wear a black t shirt instead of the viper top, as man its hot in that thing, and ditch the elbow pads! I can run in it all, but I'm a little concerned I'm going to be sweating like a bit*ch, but the I've seen loads of videos on youtube etc, and pictures on here, and most of you wear this sort of stuff. Supporters SooGoo Posted October 3, 2012 Supporters Share Posted October 3, 2012 Somebody has been on a shopping spree But yeah i know what its like to be sweating your ass off under all this as i do in mine usually until i get my UBACS that is. Also it doesnt matter if you sweat as long as you keep hydrated, ive got a two n half litre one on my PC and i had to fill it up twice to keep properly hydrated through the day as the sun was just beeming down on us. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted October 3, 2012 Supporters Share Posted October 3, 2012 You've managed to kit yourself out better in one weekend, than I did in over 2 years. That is truly depressing to me lol. But well done Sir! You'll certainly look the part, I wouldn't be surprised if you get people come to you asking for advice! Supporters Nutster Posted October 3, 2012 Supporters Share Posted October 3, 2012 Now all you need is a forum patch I'll echo what was said above, for a new guy you've picked some good/great starting kit, hope you enjoy yourself
Pandysec
Thanks guys, whats a UBACS? Oh heres a pic my misses took, excuse my stupid grin, she shouted frag out! and i haven't got any boots on, not allowed them in the living room.... and its a little dark! iAcorn
Just wait until you start buying more and more guns... Oh the fun you will have shopping for a new weapon! But to answer your question UBACS is Under Body Armour Combat Shirt. Basically they have a breathable material for the torso and spread the dampness out as you sweat so its way more comfortable to wear and play in. Some neat stuff you got there though. Would be awesome for night games! Also HI SOOGOO! Havent seen you since that skirmish at The Grange months ago!
Pandysec
Tell a lie, that shirt I've got on is a viper Ubacs! Just read the description again on fleabay!
bigshep
Ebay is a terrible, terrible place. The amount of stuff I get turning up for my next project has the posty doubled over usually. I bought loads and loads of kit and bits and bobs when I first started. I have now narrowed that down to what I am comfy in, what I like to use and what is useful. I now have a large box of stuff which I can loan to others! I would guarantee that in 3-6 months you will have decided that you don't like that look and will have another splurge on something completely different and in a year decide you actually do like all the kit you originally bought
Pandysec
Yeah I'm already considering my desert loadout!
Supporters SooGoo Posted October 4, 2012 Supporters Share Posted October 4, 2012 Airsoft is one of them where you either stick to one loadout/gun etc or you just buy more n more and it sucks money away without you realising @iAcorn Yo man, yeah works been keeping me away from airsofting unfortunately
iAcorn
Yeah I'm already considering my desert loadout! The thing about having a desert loadout is that... well this is England. You're basically like a glow stick in the middle of the night. I have a desert UBACS so I had to stick to the long grass in my last skirmish, which had turned to hay(kinda) so I could sort of blend in. Otherwise people see you coming a mile off. Unless you're doing CQB... Then it doesnt really matter what you wear Just my opinion on it anyways. I do think desert looks badass though. 32deano51
that's a nice load out you have there m8 but just a thought on what i think you should do before going out and spending money on a desert load out why don't you get a multicam load out that way it works in the Forrest environmental and has a kind of desert look to it aw and last but not least it LOOKS BADASS!! just a thought
joshcowin
this is my look, excuse the messy look finished day 1 of the ground zero weekender, and no ubacs as it was that hot.
Pandysec
If I buy a multicam jacket and some trousers. Will it be ok with my black helmet, vest and gloves? Because the vest is a flyee molle vest and was £150 and the helmet is an ops tactical and that was £
Supporters TheFull9 Posted October 7, 2012 Supporters Share Posted October 7, 2012 What's 'ok' is entirely up to you. You wanna wear MC and black gear, crack on mate, I'd doubt you'd be the only person at a skirmish doing something along those lines. I think there's this idea perpetuated amongst newer players that certain combinations of camo/colours might not 'work' or something, fact is you generally look cooler if you throw together a mix and match of a few different things. I never wear the same pattern top/trousers to a game these days.
