I'd say the G&G would be my preference for performance. Though the G&P won't be bad by any means, it'll also be easier to get external upgrade parts and will look better because of the realistic trades.

I say G&P. I have used both and taken apart both.

If you're after external quality and realism then G&P wins hands down.

Real trades, engraved, much better quality and feel to the rifle than there is to the G&G one.

The G&P feels almost real whereas the G&G feels a bit toy-ish.

As for shooting, G&P also wins this one.

It has a much better rate of fire and trigger response than the G&G (both tested completely stock and with 8.4V 3700mAh batteries).

The G&P has a ROF of 22 RPS and FPS of ~340. The trigger response is amazing, good for shooting rapidly on semi, I couldn't cause it to lock up (pulling trigger too fast) if I tried.

The G&G has a ROF of 16-20 RPS and FPS of ~340. The trigger response is pretty good, haven't been able to lock it up either, but then I haven't specifically sat there trying to like I did the G&P.

The G&G has a problem on full auto - it doesn't feel properly and misses shots. Sometimes bad enough to get down to 10 RPS. This is caused by the sector gear and is apparently (according to Fire Support) a problem with a lot of G&G rifles.

Range and accuracy - pretty much even.

There's really not a lot of difference in the two. The G&P has a metal hop unit and the G&G has a plastic one, although they're both really good.

Gearbox.

They're both pretty good. Had them both apart, the G&P seems slightly better quality, and the sector gear and tappet plate are better in the fact that the tappet plate comes back further to prevent misfeed issues.

Overall, I'd recommend the G&P over the G&G.

Almost real?

I think the G&P feels like crap compared to the gas M16 I used to have. Far too light in my opinion. Though it's the same deal with the G&G.

My G&P M16 was terrible, though my new M4 is immensely good.

However, I'd like to point out that the trades are not always engraved. Mine seem to be painted or stuck on, they're certainly not cut into the receiver.

G&G in my experience are faultless - My MP5 is still completely stock after owning it for over a year and if any gun can go that long in my possession without me feeling the need to add upgrades to make it better, then take it from me that it's a god damn awesome gun.

It also has the same internals as the M16, minus the hop unit so theoretically the M16 ought to be the same but with better range.

My M14 is also faultless and shoots like a DMR out of the box without even needing a new barrel, hop or other required fps related upgrades.

I'd say it depends what you want from the gun - realistic look, more available parts, good performance = G&P

Bad trades, less parts, (in my opinion) superior performance = G&G

I'd probably go for which ever is the cheapest to be honest, they're basically the same as they're both M16s and anything you dislike about either can be altered very easily.

I mean most real out of the two posted Ed :), which is definitely the G&P over the G&G.

The newer models have engraved trades, the M16A3 does, it's what I bought and I have one sat on my wall in front of me now.

Yeah that's their MP5. My mate's G&G misfeeds quite a lot, sometimes every other shot. When my step-dad went into Fire Support to get a few bits, he asked about it and they said it's a common problem with their M4/M16 range.

I'd say my M16 has superior performance over the G&G one.

Ed, I think your G&P M16 was and older model though?

I think they vary from where you buy them.

The trades might also change depending on what the trades are.

Because my brand new M4 has the same trades my M16 had, neither are/were engraved. But the M4 has no bolt and the dust cover is always closed. But the M16 did have a bolt and the dust cover couldn't close.

I don't think age really has anything to do with it.

I suppose you could always just swap the spring round if you wanted it open anyway ;)

As for G&P vs G&G, there's never going to be a definitive answer to that, both make good guns, at the end of the day it'll be down to opinions. However either will be a solid choice so no matter which you go for, you should be happy

True that. Just thought I'd throw in what I could as I have directly compared both side to side in-game and at home in pieces.

PS: Marcus, did your friend ever reply about VFC & G&P?

Okay, WGC say it's grey but not the same. Anyway, sorry for going off topic there :P.
