Tariq
No its a completely different game. No console would come anywhere near to running the engine ARMA runs on.

iAcorn
The War Z is not the full game version of DayZ. Just so you know DayZ is called DayZ. They were developing the game when the DayZ alpha got released. Which is a good thing I guess because they saw through all the flaws that DayZ has and are fixing similar issues in their own game... Plus you get NPCs which is awesome. Supporters Liam Porter Posted September 2, 2012 Supporters Share Posted September 2, 2012 Well, the past few days have been interest on this game/mod. Friday got some pretty awesome loot from a huge campsite, then my mate decided it was a good idea to use their own satchel charges to completely destroy it and and everything in it. Few tents survived, but they've gone now, guess the clan changed server :L. Yesterday, was under attack from a guy throwing grenades at us. Killed him, found out he had basic stuff and no grenades (obvious hacker), two seconds later the whole server get thrown in the air and everyone dies. Server was lu192, and hacker's name is Frixin. I'd advise keeping off the server he's on. We (somehow) found all our stuff (bodies were randomly thrown), got it back and server hopped to a busy server (40+ players). Played for about half an hour and then we all got killed. After dying and gathering a few basic supplies, another hacker (different server), teleported everyone to Cherno factory and killed pretty much the whole server. Now whenever I log in that server, I spawn in the factory and die. Server is lu194, so beware. Logged in today on an empty server, found another large campsite. Now kitted out with ghillie, DMR, M4 CCO SD, M1911, various stuffs. Just finished looting, got shot at with M107, hit about 2m infront. Ran behind tents, jumped to the floor and DCd. Time to find an empty server to safely leave this area with my loots .
Supporters Liam Porter Posted September 16, 2012 Supporters Share Posted September 16, 2012 If anyone has any food I would really appreciate you bringing it to me. On all maps (Chernarus, Lingor, Takistan and Utes) and on both of my accounts, I'm miles away from anywhere, with no food and with no means of getting food, on about 8k blood. Why do I always manage to get myself into these silly situations!?

Supporters Liam Porter Posted September 16, 2012 Supporters Share Posted September 16, 2012 Ehh thanks for that.. doubt I would be getting anything anyway. May have to let one of my accounts die and then bring the other some food to leave on the floor. JoelE, how's your situation?

Pretty much dead. We should all go on one server. That'd be awesome.
Supporters Liam Porter Posted September 24, 2012 Supporters Share Posted September 24, 2012 Now got some pretty good gear; L85 AWS, M107 and M9 SD. Obtained these legitimately, L85 was from crashed chopper and M107 from the barracks. Found a few hacker camp sites, with a lot of rare weapons etc. and a lot of weapons that aren't even in DayZ. I know they'll just get hacked back in, but as an inconvenience, I destroyed everything . Went on a populated (35/40 players) server and thought I'd protect a few new players in Elektro. Went to the hills to the NW of Elektro, where the power lines run, and spotted a squad of 5 shooting into Elektro. Took out two of them with AS50s with the M107, the other 3 then moved out of my sight. I ran around, up the hill and came down behind them. By the time I got there, they had looted their friends' bodies and continued shooting into Elektro, must have forgotten about me.. Took out two of them with the L85, but the 3rd started shooting me. Ran back up the hill, around the base and came up behind him (from the direction of Elektro). Then headed west (on my way up north to the airfields), heard some AS50 shots from the small island near Elektro (Drakon or something). Scout it with the L85 thermal, two snipers. Hit one with the M107. Then took shot at the second one as he turned to look at me, hit him straight in the face :L. Further west, started getting shot by an M4 of some sorts. Run around a few buildings and into the woods. Double back on myself and come up behind the guy, as I was feeling nice, shot him point blank with the M107 in the back of the head. Ended up with 5 bandit kills and 4 murders, -8990 humanity though.
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted September 24, 2012 Supporters Share Posted September 24, 2012 as I was feeling nice, shot him point blank with the M107 in the back of the head. Rofl. Still not played this game myself, but I've been watching a couple of game series' on YouTube and it's starting to feel more like a war involving nothing but stealthy snipers. The zombies are more of an inconvenience now, as opposed to being the core element of the game, as was initially intended. I think I preferred the idea of it all back when it was new and people who encountered one another generally helped each other out, instead of just blowing each other's heads off for the sake of better guns. Most of the people I see play it are out specifically to kill other players, to the point where they don't even realise their character is on the brink of death because they haven't collected any food or drink. As social experiments go, it's pretty interesting though, how it's just become a hunting game where people are the game. I wonder if that's what would happen if there was a zombie apocalypse in real life and there were people living in a similar environment... I'd like to think that in real life most people wouldn't be capable of, or have the capacity to, pull the trigger on someone that was going through the same things as them, both fighting for survival, both scavenging for food and drink, as well as guns and ammo to fight off the undead. Watching well executed sniper ambushes is a particularly awesome spectacle though.
Supporters Liam Porter Posted September 24, 2012 Supporters Share Posted September 24, 2012 I never play to specifically kill other players, I actually prefer to just watch other players going about their business, while sitting there thinking "I could so easily blow your brains out now". Only killed these guys today because they were shooting into Elektro (a large town on the coast, where new players tend to head for basic supplies and gear) and were well geared. If they were in Elektro with basic supplies, or if they were running through open fields and I was in cover, I wouldn't shoot. If I come across another player, the first thing I do is ask if they're friendly (unless they're shooting). If I don't get a response, or get a negative response, then I don't have much choice but to kill them. Also fed up with hackers, spawning in over-powered weapons etc. Found a camp earlier that had G36C SDs, SVD with night vision scope, AS50 with thermal scope, a lot of AK variants that aren't in DayZ, but are in ArmA II. There were a few satchel charges, so I took them and blew the entire area up, destroying the hacked in weapons . On a side note, I should start recording my gameplay.. He was filming at the time as well, Frankie actually combat logged, logged back in further up the hill and counter sniped him. So in short, Frankie cheats like a bitch. Or at least he did in this instance.
iAcorn
Yo iAcorn i was just watching a vid on youtube i think this is you who gets slotted from 700+ mtrs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD2KzsANsbQ Short story is I had a bad day. I don't play this game anymore. Partly because he's a giant moron (even stopped talking to my friend because I got pissed and uploaded this video). And partly because the game was beyond broken. It takes up way too much of my time too. EDIT: Oh also, for the brief time we talked in my Teamspeak he told us that he has two characters. One main, and one that constantly ghosts wherever he goes. He also cuts out a few deaths if he can save it with his second character (who has the same name)... Overall he's a pretty low player in terms of gaming ethics. But as an entertainer I guess he's okay... Still pisses me off though ahah! I like playing by the rules.
Supporters SooGoo Posted December 7, 2012 Supporters Share Posted December 7, 2012 I used to play ARMA 2 with a few american MILSIM units/clans and had great fun on the game but had to sell my gaming rig but i was hearing alot about this mod and took a look at it and was trawling thru vids on yt when i came across his little series of vids and it amazed me sometimes when he would randomly go "oh my dxtory wasnt recording etc etc" and to me something seemed a little suss about him. IM looking into a new rig hopefully powerful enough to get into ARMA as i loved the game especially just the general pub games flying the peeps round in helos all day long i loved it
