  1. Fair point, possibly... But alas, by this site's rule, if said gobby chubber is taking cover, they get left alone.
  2. I've come across something similar... A few years ago, the final straw for never wishing to play at Team Fireball again was having every player lectured by one of Team Fireball, with one of his mate's as Chief Marshall stood next to him, for not taking hits... The guy explained that he opened up an one of the enemy team at maybe 10m distance, but that a dense area of bush and undergrowth deflected/stopped the BB's. However, said the Team Fireball chap '...you know, if real 5.56mm bullets were fired from that close a range, they would have gone through no problem, so, you know, you should play in the spirit and take your hits'... This to me, is utter tardation and risks making games unplayable. BB's shouldn't be treated as imaginary bullets, whereby if a player deems the real world equivalent to their RIF would have hit you, you're thus dead... 90% of all airsoft 'hard-cover' is thin wood or metal. In fairness, that was some years ago now. They may have removed their head from where it was lodged by now. But IMHO, it is troubling that some sites are still drifting towards such imaginary based nonsense.
  3. I usually feel sore and tired regardless. Some days I'll be buzzing, some I'll wish I had my money back. Often I don't like to think on the mistakes of the day, on the same day. I like to leave a bit of time and sleep before reflecting on it all, not least because it gives my emotions a chance to have been worked out on my favourite blow-up doll. The thing that can weigh the most on my thoughts is what I should have said to other players... Not the non-hit takers or the like, but often people on your own team who try to ruin things by thinking they are Sgt. Ermey or something. Hard-charging leaders (not commanders - leaders) I welcome... But I don't like geardo arm-chair generals who think that the most expensive RIF, 'authentic' load-out and a high number of Battlepacks on BF mean they can stand at the back of a skirmish (they usually stand at the back) yelling abuse, often at noob or rental players to 'f*cking attack for f*ck sake' etc etc, regardless of the actual situation or what it may accomplish (or not). I regret not giving them a Christopher Walken style diatribe, telling such tubs of sh*t to calm down, shut up, show some tactical finesse beyond a Lord Cardigan-esq level of creativity, to show some respect to the total strangers they're yelling at (who've paid good money to be at the site), and to put their money where their mouth is and lead by example, and show us how it's done. But then I move on, and reflect on how I let some dude get an angle on me that I really shouldn't etc... It's all lessons learned.
  4. Hi Mate. Last year, I went to Birmingham Zombie Walk. It was fundraising for B'ham Children's Hospital, and had professional make-up artists on-site giving people the basic walker look for £5, or a more complex job for £30. 1st attached pic is the £30 job the guy did on me. The reason I raise this, is that such an event (and they happen all over) might facilitate what you want to do yourself? You'd have ready and waiting affordable make-up artists in the AM, plus the rest of the day to shoot. And if you stick around, you'd have not only potentially hundreds of extras also all Zombied-up, but the urban sprawl available in a way it might not normally be. What I mean by that is that the local authorities and community should be less alarmed/troubled by you shooting your stuff if it is around such a high-profile properly organised and authorized event such as a Zombie Walk. *I should stress that I am not advocating breaking any laws, nor local ordinances. However, I think it is fair to say that Steve Shopkeeper and Polly PCSO will be more likely to think of you and your mate shooting as nuisance and problem to be shut down if you're on your own, than if you're not too far from such an organised event. And in terms of post-apocalyptic style, the 2nd attached pic is how I (like to think I'd) roll...
  5. Having gone to a game there in July, I can recommend Frontier Airsoft near Penkridge. Good site, plenty of Marshall cover and a novel and fresh scenario driven day makes things more interesting. 'Capture and mutilate' was an especially nice touch. I've not been in a year or two now, but Hilton Park (still run by JD Airsoft?)- just at the back of Essington Fruit Farm/Hilton Services off the M6 was always a decent place too. Several years ago we went to Fireball Squadron near Bassetts Pole monthly for a year or so, and it got too bad for us... Cheating was a massive problem there, and I'm not just talking about players not taking hits... Having goal-posts un-fairly shifted mid-game by those running the games (not the retired couple who seem to run the site, they were always nice, I'm talking about the guys who ran the games) when Team Fireball were not subject to the same shifts was most annoying. And before anybody says it, no this wasn't about ensuring fluid game-play. It was systemic cheating. But all players being lectured by one of Team Fireball for not taking hits was the final straw, and here's why... This to me, is tardation. But even if a site wants to play with such nonsense rules, fair enough, just make it known at the outset that BB's are actually imaginary bullets and if a player deems the real world equivalent to their RIF would have hit you, you're thus dead. 90% of all airsoft 'hard-cover' isn't strong enough to support a fat-chap leaning against it, let alone stop real bullets ffs. But anyway. It just made my lot never want to go their again. In fairness, that was some years ago now, and things may well have changed. But, there's my thoughts for you.
