  1. Not sure if I find that funny or sad...
  2. Looks great! It looks as though there would be a lot of choke points. Would be cool if the buildings are accessible. Please, stop with the creepy faces, please.
  3. I'm also looking at EAG Epsom. It looks pretty cool! Its also closer so easier to plan. Also, has anyone been to airsoft sites that are abandoned buildings around London, a bit like this? I know that's in France, but KhanSeb is pretty awesome.
  4. I just read this: http://www.jaketucker.com/site-review-zed-events-the-mall-12-05-2013/
  5. Nothing is cheap in London haha. At least train tickets to Reading are cheapish
  6. Yea the sandpit looks cool, I'll pay them a visit when I get my UKARA. But I'm more into CQB - much more action! Additional Edit: I need three skirmishes at a particular site to get the UKARA. Is the mall a good place to skirmish three consecutive times?
  7. Ah ok thanks! I forgot to mention I am renting kit, so the price is higher.
  8. Hello, I live in London, and is planning on a skirmish around here. Bunker 51 seems to be the only one nearest to central London. Though it will be a total of 55 quid and only three hours of action. Another possible site is The Mall in reading, which is similar in price, and includes a full day of action. Though jay83 mentioned that it was a bit rubbish in another post, because the gameplay was start and stop, and the staff talked constantly. Any thoughts on these sites?
  9. there are more things to consider, apart from a different spring. Lower power spring will increase the rpm, and may cause problems for the gears, or grind on the pistol teeth. I also found that lowering the spring strength could make the motor heat up, for unknown reasons. I don't know if that has happened to anyone else. Maybe I am just unlucky.
  10. All right, I see how this is This is just meant to be a crude test and did work to a certain extent. Screw you guys, I am going home
  11. I am most worried about the receiver, as customs could easily think its for a real firearm or something
  12. I'll just tell him to buy the stuff here then, though it will be a lot more expensive... thanks
  13. Hello its me again. Sorry for all these law questions, but the VCRA is quite illusive. So I am thinking of importing some airsoft parts for some friend. He will be paying me back for the cost of the parts, but I will not be making a profit, so I am not sure if this counts as a transaction. The parts I will be importing involves a receiver, hop up rubber, cylinder, piston, etc. This will be done through post and luggage. Will I need a UKARA membership number for such imports. If not, isn't this a really bad loop hole? As anyone can disassemble their RIF, send as separate parts, separately, and assemble them? Thanks! The closest topic I could find was http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/20484-starting-to-panic-a-little/
  14. Their "Important Notice" makes me sick. It sounds like a child trying to sound all grown up.
  15. The most important thing is to have fun, and make sure everybody else do too
  16. off topic, but what the hell is with your signature???
  17. I still have the first CoD and MoH. I prefer CoD because the story was more 'deep' and had better 'character development'. I remember being scared of the first mission from MoH because towards the end of the first mission there was a set double door and when you got close it would suddenly open with german guns blazing. Same with Toy Story 2 with the Tin Robot boss. It chases you around making weird noises and I was terrified...
  18. lol I remember my first game very well, I was crap, and I blame my made in China XM8 because it had a fake scope so no reference to aim with, and also I was AMAZING at Medal of Honour (the first one) so I must have had AMAZING tactical shooting skillz. But the most memorable thing was my newbie friend shot some pro-wannabe's 'real steel' Surefire torch and broke the front perspex during contact. He threatened us to pay him back or he'll sue or something like that. Also, I was pinned down behind a piece of cover and found some some metal boxes/containers laying nearby. So I proceeded to kick them out a bit to distract the enemy so I could make a run for it (I swear it seemed like a good idea at the time). The meal boxes/containers turned out to be some guy's MP5 mags... He was not happy.
  19. I salute you for your patience. I guess one thing I can take from this is that some beginners (and regulars) think that the fun from airsoft only comes when you hit someone. And when they fail to hit anyone, they aren't having the fun they wanted, and so they would do anything to hit someone. For me, the fun comes from learning new things and being able to practice it, so I don't mind much when I get hit.
  20. On a much less retro note Has anybody played Homeworld 1&2?
  21. anybody had an Acorn computer? Some of their text based games were amazing!
  22. Thanks a lot guys! According to the UKARA site: "The "Player" will remain on the Database for 12 months until it will need a renewal update by the players game site. Or unless there has been a substantiated claim that they should be removed due to misconduct." Does that mean that in order to keep the RIF in my possession legal, the registration must be renewed annually, and hence: So, say I get my UKARA registration this year, but due to commitments, I could not meet the requirement of the site to have a renewal update. Does that mean that I would then be in illegal possession of an RIF. Then say if I finally find time to go skirmishing the year after with my RIF, or need to move to a new house, and get stopped by police during transport, would that mean that I have no valid defence? Sorry if this seems unnecessary, but I do not want to get on the wrong side of the law. Cheers!
  23. Everybody was a beginner once. We went into our first skirmishes utilising what we knew, right or wrong. Those that became good would have learnt from mistakes and from others, gained experience, and stopped doing stupid things. Others would just keep on doing the wrong things, and be completely oblivious. With young kids, although they are inexperience, it's always nice to see that they are having a good time. Once at a CQB site, a young boy who stuck with me kept on getting hit because he made bad moves, etc (or maybe I was a bad influence). Then towards the end of the day, he hit a regular airsofter with some sweet flanking moves. He was over the moon, and kept on shouting "I killed him! I killed him!". Bad etiquette of course, but it was so nice to see him learn something and be genuinely happy. If we are not careful, we will be become an elitist community!
  24. Seconding what BrightCandle said. Lighter guns are preferable because they are lighter and more mobile. I have a full steel M4 CQB and it can be a work out, especially in cqb when you have to shoulder the weapon all the time. Plus when you have accessories on it, weight will increase. Though I am not particularly strong, so it's up to the individual, of course. I'll shut up now and do some more press ups...
