Any of the locations got water features? River crossings, bridge building under fire or amphibious landings would be really cool scenarios that would mark you out as different.

The Loadout too far is getting there. The trousers are wrong but the general impression is there now.

Each ammo pouch is capable of holding 6 Sten mags

British pattern37 webbing is actually really comfortable and at £30 for the set I'm wearing is quite good value for money.

Everything on this site seems cheaper than anywhere else, presumably because this is where army surplus stores get their stuff from? Don't follow the links too far or you'll end up tendering to buy a destroyer, something like that can be hard to explain to your family

My speedloader is complete but it seems the power needed to push BB's into a mag is more than the plastic allen key socket on the high cap can take. I can turn the allen key and BB's will come out of the nozzle on the high cap so the concept is sound. I'm not however interested enough to spend more than the £1 I have spent on this to get it working. If however someone wants an idea to compete with Elite Force feel free to steal this idea. You could even have a powerdrill attached to it for really fast reloads

Just been sat Blanco-ing the L straps and Gaiters. Couldn't work out which was the top of the L straps so had to find a diagram.

    Helpful Diagram:

This is going to be sooo useful when I have to put it all together.

    Dammit!
With the speed loader partly done and the mechanism glued together cos I lost the tiny screws, I have realised that if I had removed the anti reversal mechanism, it would have emptied the mags in a controlled way too.

Removed the helmet interior and glued in some foam. Helmet net and scrim arrived so added that.

Just need to soak the scrim so it lays flatter and sort out a chin strap. Quite pleased with the result

My smock makes a cameo appearance here

For those of you who don't read the status updates, I think Mr B has set me a challenge Airsoft_Mr BWhat do you guys think of the Elite Force SL-14? Hope they arrive over here too. Today, 04:28 PM Show all 4 comments
Russe11 I could build something better with a funnel, parts from a high cap mag, a broken hop unit and a cranking handle. It would be easier to use and smaller. But would it be worth the hassle?

Russe11 Take a high cap, remove the spring, connect a handle directly to the wheel that pushes the bb's and glue the lower part of a hop unit into the hole at the top so that you can then press your low cap onto the device and turn the handle to load the mag

Airsoft_Mr B If you think you could do it I'd say go for it. I don't know if you get a lot of spare time but you seem fairly confident and probably pretty good at making stuff so I think it'd be great to try.

Russe11 I'm tempted, just to prove it would work, but tbh I have no need for a better speed loader and I have other projects on the go
I have just taken a look at my broken High cap and I think it would take 5 mins to convert it into an uber speed loader.
    -Disconnect the spring
-Glue the wheel that pushes the bb's directly to the windy wheel axle
-Drill a hole in the outer casing level with the windy wheel axle
-put the high cap back together
-stick an allen key into the end of the windy wheel axle through the hole
*at this stage the high cap will push bb's up to the outlet nozzle as the allen key is turned with no spring to store the extra turns.
-glue a tube into the top of the high cap and shape the end to form a coupling with the midcap.

The principle is that the high cap will push bb's into the midcap as fast as you turn the allen key. For more speed, you could even use a power drill
All I need is glue (which I can pick up tomorrow) and a plastic tube to form the connection between the mags. Any idea where I could find such a tube?
A broken hop unit or speed loader are 2 ideas I had.

As I am using an MP5 double mag high cap, it will even be possible to put a funnel into the high cap while it's loading a midcap. So you have something better than the Elite Force SL-14 as you cannot fill that easily while using it and it will be the size of 2 MP5 mags, not the size of an MP5. Plus it will work on any mid cap without adapters, you just have to hold the mag on. Thus it would be ideal for a team using different guns.

Am I a genius or can someone tell me where it will go wrong? And does anyone know where I can get a suitable bit of tubing?

Pattern 1937: belt, cross straps, waterbottle and holder, Mk3 ammo pouches, entrenching tool cover and entrenching tool (without handle), small pack, L straps, sten gun sling.
WW2 style British gaiters, green helmet net, scrim, liquid Blanco in 1944-45 green (its dye for webbing).

The smock is weird. It's made of duck cotton. It's a material I have only ever encountered in carradice saddle bags. Basically its very heavy duty cotton woven so tight that if it gets damp, the fibres swell and it becomes watertight. Essentially it does what modern breathable waterproof membranes do. It's also very stiff so I imagine bb's will not hurt much wearing it
I wasn't sure at 1st but I soaked it in the bath to get rid of the smell of mothballs and the pockets didn't leak water, I had to turn the smock upside down to empty the pockets

Small pack ordered and have won auction for webbing. I now have everything for the basic loadout on its way to me. The next step is to upgrade bits to more authentic items. Battledress will be 1st for this

Have ordered Gaiters, helmet net and scrim, Blanco (to dye the webbing) and L straps (The straps for pattern 37 backpacks) from soldier of fortune.
If I win the Sten sling and webbing, I will have a very basic setup sorted. Will then just need a small pack (easy to get) and battledress.

    You want one of these?

The white bit is the added slither of grey plastic. Incidentally, on some its glued to the mag, on others to the slider. Doesn't make any difference its just fiddly to get the glued side in the same direction each time

Don't you hate those market forces

I think I need larger mesh net than even the netting you have.

I have bids on ebay auctions atm for this webbing

and a sten gun sling both ending in the next 24hrs.

The webbing includes the entrenching tool but not the handle for it.

I will then just need a small pack and L straps, trousers, helmet net, scrim, chin strap.
    I'm getting there slowly

There is a spin off loadout I'm considering, Aussie Jungle greens. Basically the same webbing with green shirt and trousers and a slouch hat.

I got the King arms mags. They are a pain in the arse. The catch that holds the bb's in is chisel shaped but sticks out too far so that when you try and load the mag, the hopup is pushing on the horizontal bit. If you fill the mag and push the catch in a millimetre then they go in nicely, otherwise it requires quite a slap so will probably break something.

Edit: have done a successful modification of the mags by glueing slither of plastic in front of the ribbed slider on the catch. some mags slot in really easy now, others are as stiff as the original ASG mag.
