exactly why i would have said ira as pira is such a specific term it would easily have escaped a younger person. and i dont think ive ever seen any paramilitary markings with pira on it they always refered to themselves as ira(but then politicians etc always change it, specially now with the breakoff groups...) not that ive any time for any of that crap. fools on both sides. but anyhow yea its not far off the paramilitarys look...

cant tell ive never handled an m4 much can you. infact the only one ive used was a rental one with most of the flash hider broken off...in that case this will be something im gonna be changing on the gun. after i get the optional bits on it that i do want( sights grip and bayonet come first though)

so this is how far ive gotten the black load out up to. pistol got a fair bit of use this week...

just got a black assault vest second had off a mate, still deciding where to put the pouches....

bought a second hand aug to play around with (tommy is a pain to dismantle etc) and hopefully maby upgrade etc. already done most of the exterior work im gonna do to it(need a sling hook though...) anyway pics before and after....

think i might have better luck just going for the writer, lol. was funny, one of the other extras asked will being in the show spoil the story line for him.... despite the size of the costume department i couldn't get him a medal, lol...

just back from 10 days in london in brilliant weather, get a text asking me to be an extra in game of thrones.... going for costume fitting tomorrow... might mean i have to cut out airsoft for a while to prevent any unseemly marks etc but i can live with that tbh... so fars looking like my best ever summer....

im surprised i haven't came across civil war era airsoft rifle variants... once held (and accidentally broke) a 1 cal pistol(and yea i mean 1 cal, not .1....) from that era. would imagine would be good idea for those whom like to rein-act...

looks grand(better than mine tbh) would reccommend looking at something to protect your mouth as getting your teeth shot out isnt nice i hear, despite face protection not really fitting with the look you are aiming for... (specially in cqb where your usually getting near full force....)

think what you are looking for is a bottle neck that dosent restrict your movement. also by the movements your planing, (stab through the head, surely a spear/halbard would be of a better design for your plan? course im just not a fan of trying to hold out like that against zombies, never works in the movies/games/tv shows etither, they always get bogged down eventually. either get behind some really thick walls, or move around, taking out the isolated ones as safely as possible... unless that door has a remote and will smash through zombies when closed so you can recover when you get eventually tired. im no saying you wont get through 10+ zombies your way, just you will have your limit, as would even a trained swordsman... just dont know the rest of you plan? blaze of glory, taking as many as possible, distraction for others etc. not that its a bad plan, a bad plan is like the camper they found in the walking dead whom hung himself to prevent becommig a zombie, died became a hung zombie.... yours may well have merrit, infact if i ever get round to making a zombie movie/comic it could well be one of the examples i use at some point... also by no means anywhere near as good as a katana but this is probably what i would run with in zombieland,(probably just the head though, depending...

any sword could kill the problem being to kill many. if zombies come one by one no pushing and shoving flip you could do it with a screwdriver. infact i dont think many of us would worry as much about the zombie apoc if thats all they are capable of. its when they pack tight in large numbers all coming through your door at once, attracting and ever increasing number of zombies that it becomes a bad tactic. course in that case lock the door, use you katanna to futher bar the door and look for a way out safely.... and if all your doing is hacking and slashing, most other melee weapons could do the same/ similar thing better. have to say im glad noone has mentioned a chainsaw yet....

yup and blades wear down alot quicker than people want to believe. bone has a bad effect on swords. and it will ikely eventually catch/slip out of hands thanks to blood and guts and gore. also its effectiveness is at slashing, most zombie things require destruction of brains( in the walking dead they at one point cut a zombies head off but it dosent actually kill it. similar in some others to my knowledge....

part of why id like to try blacksmithing and give making one a go. would likely be worse but would still love to try...

specially in a doorway where you lave limited swings due to space and the boddys start stacking up around you making it more difficult....

as said it depends on the zombies the senario is based on, some thories of eyes being pale because of decay means reduced vision etc so they use a mix of senses. and that generally a zombie itself is not a threat its the injuries that cause the infection to spread and zombie hordes that are the real threat, and if theres alot of zombies good luck shooting them all in the eyes(if it even works at said point. if theres only one /2 the thory is melee weapons ftw, if theres lots run...(use guns to clear escape paths/ rescue) but as said depends on the zombie base...
