  1. You mean Centurions? History. Studying history makes me happy Absolutely love it. Getting into Kings College to do War Studies for the next 3 years makes me happier.
  2. Sadly it isn't. My real first name is Hugh. After a week at my current/old school in year 7 one of my friends called me Hubert ( -Farnsworth, he kept calling me The Professor from Futurama...), and the nickname stuck. Most people have their name shortened in nickname form, me, I get mine made longer. It's practically my offical name at school (hell, leavers hoody, class of '11 has it on the back). It then spawned into Huberticus for some weird reason. Why do you get piss taking for Marcus? I can't think of anything.
  3. I remember back in 2002 a guy in the UK changed his name offically to Mr "Sony Playstation" - he won a massive prize from the Offical Sony UK PS2 magazine. Made me laugh. I used to want to change my name when I was younger. I really hated it. Would have killed to be called Dave, or Tom, or something 'normal'. But now, I'm happy with my name. Dunno why. Just happy with it.
  4. This is one of those moments when I hate forums, as I really can't tell if you're being serious or not...
  5. I haven't even gotten to my uni yet, but they've been driving me to insanity for the past...5 months. They have my email address. They have both my home and mobile numbers. Yet they insist on speaking to me via post, and sending everything 2nd class, The result of which is that it usually takes about 3 weeks for them to tell me that I have done something wrong with my forms. I had to send my proof of identity form 3 times! And every time they sent it back, did they tell me what I'd done wrong? No. And of course, their phone helplines were useless, giving me contradictory advice every time I phoned....

M320s are real 40mm underslung noobtoobs. I can't remember if they're made by H&K or someone else. More modern. I have no idea if the plan to replace all US M203s with M320s is still going ahead, I remember it ran into some difficulty when someone realised just how expensive it would be to replace 100's of thousand M203s...
  7. Liking the gear Finius I was tempted to try the SA80+ Elcan, but never found a suitable elcan for a good price (only the £200+ paperweights...) How are you finding the L85? Did you find out if those magazines work or not?
  8. New loadout I've made. In case of zombie apocalypse/nuclear war/invasion of the UK and becoming a resistance fighter/recruitment into PMC Wore it when I was at Heywood's CorpWar event, I was on the UK survivors team. Worked pretty well, enjoyed wearing it.
  9. Love the M727. Paint on it looks great. You're starting to convince me that I might like to buy one in the future... Dave sorted my holo sight, so allow me to introduce my "techno-heresy" that is LSW with 552. I'm well aware that the middle receiver pin is missing, the 'never-lose-bolts' proved to be...errr...'easy-lose-bolts'.
  10. It's a rare event that I post in here... Watching Dave Allen sketches. Especially on religion. So funny. edit - Oh lord this is too funny, I remember the day my dad taught me this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS5P6GcUC4s
  11. And no-one else seems to love penguins as much! Welcome back!
  12. You are the complete opposite of me. wait for it, waaaait for it... And that makes me ANGRY! Currently: Flying insects (except bees, they have a use) Anarchists. Mostly because they aren't real anarchists. Baukunin would be spinning in his grave if he could see the crap 'anarchists' get up to these days. Face it guys, you're just a bunch of tossers who want to smash stuff. You're like Orks from 40K, only without the humourous element (and for now, thanks god, minus the guns).
  13. That's one lurvley looking Saytie right there. what's the SUSAT like to look through? At Dave's getting fixed because the mounting broke itself...
  14. The fact that this thread has remained silent for so long. The media. The Beeb has a painful liberal bias, and needs to get off it's high-horse, it isn't whiter than white - whilst it doesn't have the corrupt bastards that the Screws have, it has 20 very, very, very well paid executives who whilst keeping their pay cheques, are preaching about the evils of expenditure cutbacks... The tabloids. Express - Diana is dead. She wasn't a saint (although I cannot lie, her anti-landmine work was amazing) - but like I said, she's dead, get over it. The Sun's hpocracy - "whey, lets go nut some paedos! Now getta look at the knockers on this page3 stunna, she turned 17 today..." I might not like Gordon Brown as a politican - but I think it's downright disgusting to steal and then publish his 5 year old son's medical records. The Screws. I don't think I have to elaborate... The fact that everyone is jumping in on the Screws and pretending that they've never done anything wrong. And the constant statement of the obvious - tabloid journalists have no morals, we get it! What are they going to report next, the Pope is Catholic and bears defecate in the woods?
  15. Lucky git... I also enjoy talking with former service personel, some of the stuff they did... During my work experience with my dad, I met one of his work mates, a former major, who served from 1968-ish to 1995 (he ended as a major obviously). His stories from Germany, and the numerous exchange operations with Americans were hilarious - he and an American unit during the 70s exchanged kit - one of the yanks started crying because the SLR's recoil was so strong in comparison to the M16. Tanks getting lost is another highlight - one one occasion a unit parked on a bog without knowing it, and found most of their tanks up to their turrets in mud. Something that's making me laugh at the moment - thinking about the idea of a god existing for Atheism. Would it become weaker when someone worships it?
  16. Things that make me happy - Dave has fixed my Eotech 552. And Dave, whilst your girl is on holiday, you can be happy that you have a girlfriend haha
  17. I'm like Dr Cox. I have no real 'happy' mode. Appart from when I'm being sarcastic and bitter in conversations, that's when I'm happy. Or mowing down entire squads whilst using my LSW. That makes me happy. Very happy. Oh so joyously happy! Also, my first driving lesson in ages today. That was fun, my teacher is a former soldier, obviously had lots to talk about.
  18. Hence my own "lack of manners" in society rant. Starbucks. Overpriced crap. Trying to buy a good cup of tea whilst out in public. Seriously, whatever happened to Assan tea? Just normal, honest, plain tea? Militant Indie - I'm waiting for the moment I hear "oh man, breathing's soooo mainstream...I think I'll stop, that'll be indie". Yeah, we get it, lots of music is crap. Lots of modern music is crap... Next point, modern music. Being a Clash fan, I'm open to lots of types of music (rock, funk, blues, punk, soul, practically endless list) - but modern, mass produced dubshite type music and the Britain-exploits-the-mentally challenged-Xfactor-idolpop-crap - it's just...empty. No heart to it, it's just mass produced crap.
  19. The majority of all online gamers. SHUT. THE. HELL. UP! I shouldn't have to turn my headset off because a little 12 year old (who's mummy bought an 18R game for...naughty naughty...) won't shut the hell up and learn some goddamned manners. It's team talk, not lets just have verbal diorreha over a microphone... That brings up another thing, the lack of manners in society. Militant feminists. I'm holding the door open for you because I'm standing next to it, not because you're a women. It's call politeness, I'm not a chauvenistic male pig (well, in public) The overly touchy-feely culture we have. No, I'm not hugging you. It isn't because I don't like you, it has nothing to do with the fact I'm a cold hearted git, I just don't work that way. Hugs = someone I'm very close to, not just something I hand out randomly
  20. People who hate learner drivers! No, I'm joking, I can perfectly accept this one. Hell, I hate learner drivers! I'm not perfect - but then I've only had a few lessons - but some learners drivers are just terrible, even after 20 lessons. I still hate militant cyclists. Possibly moreso now. Builders. More specifically, builders who start work on my neighbough's house at 6.30AM with heavy machinery. WHY?! You're in a residential area, why do you think bang on the dot 6.30 is a suitable time to start using the angle-grinder/jack-hammer/dynamite/etc? I, and a lot of other people are trying to sleep! That every day I think that News International isn't capable of stooping to new low levels - look how wrong I was about that this morning...
  21. I know! They're amazing creatures. Did you know that the four eldest male Emperor penguins at Edinburgh Zoo are officalally in Norwegian Navy? I even went to one of the ceremonies where they appointed them their titles - King Olaf or Niles, he's a group captain or similar high rank. Militant cyclists. The rules of the road apply to everyone, regardless of whether you pay road-tax or not. Pisses me off no end when they sail through redlights and then swear at me (a learner) when they nearly crash into me. People who quote family guy. I enjoy family guy. Sure, I don't think it's the funniest show in history, but I can appreciate it has comic value. But what drives me round the bend? twats who quote it non-stop. Especially the un-funny lines! Jeez, grow up! But do you know what's really getting me angry right now, at this very minute? People who are intolerant of other people's cultures. That and the Belgians.
  22. Oh I can believe that. Who would Dr Cox want to be friends with more than himself? (I'm not a fan of facebook, but believe me I would 'like' your post if I could!) I've already got more rage: The SNP. I'm pretty Scottish, and I can accept an element of independence (like Wales or N.Ire, with local powers). But full freedom? Hahahaha, that's the most ridiculous idea I've ever heard. Why don't we just let Leeds, or Huddersfield have their own independence. I'm sure they'll do fine. Ignorant electorate ("I really like the SDP! I fink dey'll really sort out all dem imgrants!" - you support a now defunct Russian socialist movement from 1903? Good for you...) Spineless politicians and MPs Hugh Jackman. Numerous reasons The non-stop deluge of crap that Hollywood manages to get away with filming and publishing Historical innaccuracies in documentaries. Is it really that hard to tell the difference between the 23-ton American M3 Stuart-Honey light tank, and the 76-ton German King Tiger tank?! Really, what the hell are the editors and researchers on these shows being paid for? The fact that one of them is only just bigger than a transit van, and clearly has Yank flags on it, and the other is covered in Nazi symbols... ARGH! I hate you History/Mil.History/Discover Channels!
  23. You do know that you've doomed the entire forum by starting this thread, right? Prepare for some real Dr Cox-esque rants over the next few weeks... Idiots The "no-win, no-fee" lawsuit culture we've inherited from the States. "I wasn't looking where I was going whilst carrying some boiling hot tarr, and I fell down some stairs, covering myself in boiling liquid. I also refused to wear safety clothing because it isn't stylish...but I'm still going to sue my boss for my own stupidity!" All politicians for the past...20 years are inefficent, self-serving, corrupt, useless, journalist-and-moron-fondling cretins. I often feel a lot of the world's problems would be solved if all the politicians (and ambulance-chasing scum-bag lawyers) were locked in a building and blown up. Making legislation that has no real value other than to appease the ignorant masses who frequent "X against Y" groups (like mums.net), that takes up time, money and has no purpose. Hugging up to journalists. An arrogant media-boss from a certain former colony should not have the power to make or break a government. The scumbag and filthy nature of what passes for 'journalism' in the UK these days Tony Lair. Sorry, Blair. The frequent re-shuffling of the education system Northerners - or people in general - who hate Thatcher simply for being Thatcher. Look at the economy before she started work - some of what she did was justified, and if she hadn't done it, we'd have been in a situation pretty similar to the one Greece has now. That said, she did do some stuff that does merit her reputation. Civil Servants such as those at the MoD. Buying bolts for a landrover 110 chassis that can be picked up for £1.03 at a shop like Halfords, for £126 each. Spending £67 billion over 7 years on a project to design and buy a much needed medium battle tank - only after the 7 years to have no money, and not even a proposed design for the tank. Managing to 'lose' equipment - then deny it by saying "we haven't lost it, we just don't know where it is". And we wonder why the SDR was so harsh on the Armed Forces? Guilt-whores. I'm sorry, yes, our country has done some pretty awful crap in the past. But It has nothing to do with me, so stop trying to make me feel guilty for (insert thing) There are some truly awful attrocities on-going right now you should be worried about! /rant over. For now...
  24. I find its more the enemy than the physics - regardless of whether you're driving the DB5 or a jeep, the enemy is alsways faster, stronger and better than you. But yeah, in the Italian Job I found I usually just pointed the mini in the vague direction of the end point, floor it and just let the walls guide me there...
  25. Sometimes I feel the need to dust off my PS2 and play on a few old PS1 games I still love. Still enjoy playing on 007:James Bond racing and the Italian Job game. Is it just me, or are PS1 games (especially driving games) damn near impossible to play? I still can't finish the 007 car chase game!
