I must admit its good fun using a melee weapon, I've had my weapons fail on 4 occasions and sneaking around with a knife or something feels much better than just open hands. One of my first outings as DREDD I actually forgot to bring the specialised batteries to power the pistol, basically went out with a foam baton and a riot shield, ended up chasing a group of guys who had a great story to tell lol. This is what I would personally do in your situation, take the rifle apart, take a soldering iron and gently burn/"engrave" following the initial firing marks, done right it could look professional, however practise on other plastic first. And what I would do, buy a new gun.

I believe some people paint the receiver (as long as the markings are engraved) and then use that white wax stick to fill in the engraving and then use some warm water on a flannel to wipe off the excess wax, hair dryer to harden the wax, and bob's your uncle.

I don't think it's an airsoft gun, looks more like one of those light up and noise ones to me.

Last year we all sorted out a camp site for our group as well as swapping phone numbers to ease logistics and finding everyone. You have obviously never met any of my ex-girlfriends. Fortunately I have never suffered from blind-firing in airsoft, but I almost did with simunition in yank land (guy was thrown out after doing it a second time), it was one of the more worrying points in my life, and if I hadn't twisted the pistol off of him I could've been badly hurt. I agree with ed that these things tend to be blown out of proportion, but it is one of the few situations in airsoft where someone could be badly hurt, so should be stamped on hard, by the site, not by the entire community.

Still hoping to do that photo shoot, just need to finish off the loadout, lots more scales to go on. Really want to do a shoot with your hand around my throat (my back against the wall), and my hand having a knife (or something) going for you. Maybe also doing the classic mirror thing, half you, half me. Possibilities are endless lol.

Not really that interested in cosplay, it's a skirmish loadout primarily, I think I might have found someone who uses a carbon core which breaks into 3 pieces if hitting someone with any force, but no guarantee that it'll see the light of day though.

Along those lines, yes, but needs to be slightly more robust looking.

That's kind of the hope, training ASP's are not illegal, problem is that the only one I can find is in America and won't ship it.

I'm putting the final parts together on my DREDD loadout and desperately need something that is like a collapsible baton used by the police, I've been using a lightsaber which doesn't feel/look right. It needs to extend to about 50cm and collapse to a minimum of 10cm. Price isn't really an issue, but I am desperate.
