Personally i think grip-pods are hideous, so that alone rules them out for me. Looks aside, I'd rather have a foregrip and bipod seperate, a more comfortable/better-looking foregrip and an adjustable bipod. Bipods might not get used much, but they can be good and we know 95% of airsoft gun exterior mods are for looks anyway. My two DMRs have both bipods and vertical foregrips, and my 416 workhorse has both too.

I treated my NGRS MP5 sneaky slut to some optics in the form of a Vector Optics Nautilus with a 5x magnifier, and replaced the clone Surefire X400 for one with a green laser. I really need to use this more as it's such a nice gun. My NGRS 416 keeps being messed with, i can't leave the poor thing alone. Now has a Vector Optics Veyron 3-12 scope and a Vector Frenzy red dot on a modified scope ring/mount. Added the small angled grip and repositioned the pressure switch for the NGAL. I love the bipod even though it doesn't get used much. Acetech Bifrost may get replaced when my Angrygun KAC silencer arrives. ?

Sounds like it needs to be opened up and inspected. Maybe a faulty/damaged selector plate or fire selector cam?

Just an update for anyone who might be interested, the above Novritsch hop unit is a direct fit for the A&K 249s, and is a beautifully-made piece. AirsoftPro also make a nice CNC hop unit, which i also have but the Novritsch is easier to get. Price is about the same, Novritsch has infinite adjustment while AirsoftPro has (i think) 10 different adjustment settings that click and lock in place.

I run mine with an NPAS so i can run it at 1.1j. Using CO2 and NPAS will make it very consistent, more so than the various canned gases. The GHK Sigs also have a handly little catch to lock them to semi only.

What about using a GHK on CO2? My 553 on CO2 can put out 4j without the NPAS.

I may've bought a few things lately.. Some highly exciting maintenance stuff and some gas. A couple of nozzles for my unreliable VFC MP5K. Another ASG MP5 claw mount and a beautifully made UTG riser. Vector optics Veyron scope for my 416. Small angled vertical foregrip for my 416. I really want to hate vertical foregrips because they look awful, but they're annoyingly comfortable to use. A Vector Optics Paragon 4x prism sight for my 553. And finally, an E&C 416c with the sexiest handguard you can get for an AR; the Geissele SMR. Not sure if i'll keep it yet, i only want the handguard to go on another build. The stock is among the worst designed and most uncomfortable ones ever made.

Apparently the JG MP5s are all plastic-bodied, but still not too bad despite that. Not particularly study but also not particularly weak. The Cyma MP5s seem to get good reviews, but they're about £230 for an SD. Another thing to bear in mind for CQB, the SDs are about 4" longer than a regular MP5, if that matters to you. They still look cool as hell and you can hide a tracer inside the silencer. ??
