Possibly, but it's more fabrication/engineering to do it well than typical teching. Probably needs some modification to the bolt too, and it may well impact reliability and eat gearboxes. The cost is another aspect to consider. If paying someone to do it you could get into hundreds pretty quick.

They said they cut a slot in the gearbox and used string attached to the piston to link to the bolt. Personally, i would use solid (but sliding) linkage instead of string but as said before this isn't really DIY and is more engineering.

The gun in that video is just modified to have a moving bolt, not a blowback system. From what they describe, making the bolt move like that is relatively simple with a bit of engineering. To have an actual blowback effect (like an NGRS) you need an additional weight in the mix somewhere which is a whole other bit of engineering in itself, unless you find a way to transplant an NGRS/similar gearbox into your desired gun. No doubt it's possible, but probably not a DIY job either.

While i can't help with the issue, what spring did you go for and what power did it give you?

They're the ones that came with the guns. I have spares that haven't been used.

So i have two brand new VFC MP5s. Neither have had more than maybe 3 magazines through them and last time i shot one it felt down on power and let a load of gas out the ejection port. A look at the magazine shows the front of the rubber gas router has a chunk taken out of it. (Another magazine has the same to a lesser extent.) I bought a new nozzle and some new gas routers, but wondering if anyone else has encountered anything similar? Looks like i just need to shave a little off the loading "finger" or chamfer the leading edge. Many thanks, Moose.

Having not bought anything airsoft for... days.. i decided it was time for some upgrade parts. 510mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet inner barrel and Flamingo hop rubber for my SCAR-H MK20. 74mm, 138mm, 210mm and 330mm Unicorn inner barrels + hop rubbers to fit USP Compact, MP5K PDW, MP5A5 and SCAR-H. And 3 M90+ NGRS springs to fit my two MP5s and my 416 Delta. And now to look at some more optics and try to resist buying them.. 😕

I'll run it through the chrono tomorrow and find out. The NGRS will have a much lower rate of fire than a high cycle, i think. From what i've seen all the MP5A3/5 foregrips should interchange. People put the VFC/Surefire, H&K MLI, Midwest Industries,etc on them all with the only issue being battery space on some.

I like RIFT Redcon. I was there today, and it was good. (as usual) While i haven't been i'm told Skirmish Wycombe is also good.

"Made" a locking pin to lock my SCAR-H MK20 to semi-only for DMR use. Very basic; drilled and tapped the selector cam and used a machined bolt to hit that rear pin in semi so the selector can't turn any further. Gonna take it to RIFT tomorrow and hopefully get some kills in with it.

VFC make GBB MP5s.

I don't know to be honest. I know the VFC SCAR-Hs have an NPAS from the factory, while my two VFC MP5s don't. Not sure which others have them. Making another tool to fit other brands/models is no issue, but they do use different size hex keys and different nozzle internal diameters. (This is made to be a close fit into the nozzle for alignment of the hex key and to prevent damage.)

For the VFC SCAR-H as well?

Damn, i think i'll need to add one to my collection now. Didn't realize they were so different inside and can run a steel slide well. When i built my VFC one it was pretty disappointing.

I put a steel slide on one of my VFC Glock 45s and it made it really sluggish. Put a 130% recoil spring on and it made little difference, even when running on CO2. Don't know how the GHKs will be with steel slides but apparently it's quite normal for them to run/cycle worse than with ally slides.

It looks disproportionally large. The HK53/G3 flash hider looks much better. I think i'll turn it into a silencer/tracer mount or something.

Bought a VFC MP5 Navy flash hider. Now i've got it i'm not actually that fond of it. 😕
