  1. Well you've got spaces to fill now so you better go buy one!
  2. No further questions. Since Bill's letting the side down by selling guns, i had to pick up the slack and buy a (very nice) NGRS HK417 from the classifieds.
  3. Oh absolutely, and that's why i have many and always carry one in games, but the choice between spending £60 on a crap one and going without, i'd save the money.
  4. They're not used much anyway unless you're carrying a DMR/sniper and have a minimum engagement distance. If you haven't needed one so far, you probably won't unless you change to DMR/sniper. Honestly you're better off saving the money. I take a pistol to every game and practically never use it.
  5. It's a brand new gun, and the one i rounded the end off was another brand new one ☹️
  6. I saw that yesterday when i had a look at the gun. I carefully rounded the nose like it said, but now it only feeds BBs from one side of the magazine. So you get one shot, then it cycles without loading another into the hop. 😂 Stupid gun, i really want to take it out and use it too.
  7. Night games with tracers are so much fun, just streams of them raining down. Really makes me want an M249 for the huge ammo capacity. 😂
  8. Making things and machining is kinda part of my job though. 🙃
  9. VFC MP5K-PDW with its new silencer/tracer:
  10. I don't think i'll ever rival your collection. 😂 Another quick job, added a short rail to my MP5SD silencer to attach an X400 clone. The silencer has a small grub screw to index it so i can still keep zero when i have to remove the silencer. Spare rail piece had a suitable radius cut into it to match the silencer: Small section of the ribs were cut off the handguard to fit a remote switch, which is held on with 3M VHB tape.
  11. Somewhat productive day in the SkunkWorks. Started off by modifying a silencer/tracer unit, wasn't so fond of the grooves in it and decided to copy the Specter one, but with 12 smaller flutes. Before: After turning the OD down, it was put in the rotary table and flutes were cut with an 8mm ball-nosed end mill. Bit of lousy paint.. And now it looks so much better. Very happy with the result. Next up was a silencer that i bought for my MP5K-PDW. It's some specific type that i didn't realise at the time, but that didn't matter. I made an insert that'd screw on to the threaded outer barrel, but go over the 3-lug QD and sit closer to the front sight block. Turned from 38mm ally, bored to clear the 3 lugs, threaded inside, with an external male thread to fit a tracer and hex flats milled too. It's secured to the outer body with a grub screw. Finished + fitted:
  12. That 17 has a terrible overbite..
  13. That's awesome. I've wanted a Sten since i saw The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
  14. Possibly, but it's more fabrication/engineering to do it well than typical teching. Probably needs some modification to the bolt too, and it may well impact reliability and eat gearboxes. The cost is another aspect to consider. If paying someone to do it you could get into hundreds pretty quick.
  15. They said they cut a slot in the gearbox and used string attached to the piston to link to the bolt. Personally, i would use solid (but sliding) linkage instead of string but as said before this isn't really DIY and is more engineering.
  16. The gun in that video is just modified to have a moving bolt, not a blowback system. From what they describe, making the bolt move like that is relatively simple with a bit of engineering. To have an actual blowback effect (like an NGRS) you need an additional weight in the mix somewhere which is a whole other bit of engineering in itself, unless you find a way to transplant an NGRS/similar gearbox into your desired gun. No doubt it's possible, but probably not a DIY job either.
  17. Hmm, i've ordered M90+s. Maybe i should change them to 95s or 100s. 🤔
  18. While i can't help with the issue, what spring did you go for and what power did it give you?
  19. They're the ones that came with the guns. I have spares that haven't been used.
  20. So i have two brand new VFC MP5s. Neither have had more than maybe 3 magazines through them and last time i shot one it felt down on power and let a load of gas out the ejection port. A look at the magazine shows the front of the rubber gas router has a chunk taken out of it. (Another magazine has the same to a lesser extent.) I bought a new nozzle and some new gas routers, but wondering if anyone else has encountered anything similar? Looks like i just need to shave a little off the loading "finger" or chamfer the leading edge. Many thanks, Moose.
  21. Having not bought anything airsoft for... days.. i decided it was time for some upgrade parts. 510mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet inner barrel and Flamingo hop rubber for my SCAR-H MK20. 74mm, 138mm, 210mm and 330mm Unicorn inner barrels + hop rubbers to fit USP Compact, MP5K PDW, MP5A5 and SCAR-H. And 3 M90+ NGRS springs to fit my two MP5s and my 416 Delta. And now to look at some more optics and try to resist buying them.. 😕
  22. I'll run it through the chrono tomorrow and find out. The NGRS will have a much lower rate of fire than a high cycle, i think. From what i've seen all the MP5A3/5 foregrips should interchange. People put the VFC/Surefire, H&K MLI, Midwest Industries, etc on them all with the only issue being battery space on some.
  23. I like RIFT Redcon. I was there today, and it was good. (as usual) While i haven't been i'm told Skirmish Wycombe is also good.
  24. I have an MP5 NGRS but the front space looks much the same. I use these, but you could probably get something slightly larger in: https://www.vapextech.co.uk/airsoft-7-4v-1300mah-25c-lipo-cranstock-battery-with-case-lp302-vapextech
