  1. I came across something this morning that puzzled me, and wanted to pitch it to others for discussion. (It's Monday, I'm back at work after a nice weekend and I have nothing better to do!) These popped up from someone I have on Instagram and Am I wrong for thinking this is weird? Referring to the "player may get up and retreat if within 20 metre range. (Do not target player if they do so)". As someone who does a bit of sniping this just seems daft and open to abuse. "Ooh you got close to me as I was hiding! Don't shoot me while I go move and get into cover somewhere else!" Surely this would just interrupt the flow of games as people get an 'invincibility shield' should the enemy team push up and get the drop on them. If someone not in the engagement who then sees an enemy player walking 30/40m away; unaware that they're relocating shoots them, only for the sniper to then come back in momentarily later it might just look like they're cheating; and lead to arguements etc. I'm of the opinion that (surprisingly) we're playing to shoot and get shot, and so long as everyone involved is sensible and sporting then something like this is just silly. A sniper, if in the situation where enemy players get within the MED has three options imo: 1) Hide, and hope to stay undiscovered at which point they can then escape or engage from behind. 2) Switch to a sidearm and try to either escape under fire or take out as many attackers as possible. 3) Get shot/surrender and use it as a learning experience for next time. Anybody else have thoughts on this? Is it a weird rule, or am I just out of touch?

I'm after a few of the parts as pictured. If anyone has any spare from a dead HiCap please. Ideally around 3-4, but I can possibly take more if available. Thanks

  6. If tackle doesn't have one, I've got a black one I'm not using. It's purely a dummy one though, for holding batteries.
  7. This is why everyone should purchase their own chrono. You want to get it set up so that it's firing under the limit whilst using the heavier ammo you'll be using in game, and then if your site for whatever dark-age reasons still insists on using 0.20s to test, you should be comfortably under the limit with both. For example, my T10 fires at around 2.1J on a 0.45 which is what I game with. There's one site local to me, which I occasionally play at, who still use the outdated "test on a 0.2" method, and as a result the same gun will shoot at around 450fps. Safely under on both, and I know I'm not going to accidentally joule creep over the limit.
  8. Tactical Geordies or Negative Airsoft?
  9. Thanks, hoping to make it up when schedules and the stars align!

  11. I think I did sell that one, but then ended up with another one in a bulk buy. Message me and I'll see what I have
  12. Looking to venture further afield to make up for a lack of interesting sites up North, I'm considering some sites, one of which is Fireball, near Birmingham. Has anyone been before, or currently plays there? If so, what's it like? How does it play, what are the players and staff like? How's the terrain, and are there any site specific rules or restrictions to be aware of? Thanks!
  13. Welcome! 40 here, been playing since I was 13. Where are you located and what site did you visit? There may be local players on here that you can team up with and help lessen any social awkwardness beforehand!
  14. Waiting for a parcel from firesupport, and it's Royal mail delivering. 😒

Are they specifically trained to not use doorbells, or do they just not understand what they are?

Yes but knocking with the strength of an arthritic gnat takes the same amount of time as just pressing the doorbell that can be heard anywhere throughout the house.

And as chance would have it, he delivered it just as I was writing this! Thankfully it was small enough to fit through the letterbox so no knocking needed for once! 😂

I'm always glad when the royal mail gods are on our side brother!

Hopefully they can continue to do so in 2025 😅

Its not Royal mails fault its your postman, our postman is brilliant 🤔

  15. I used some of the more recent ones at humber Airsoft with 0.28, as well as an older style one years ago at a Halloween game and they really are impressive for the price! Managed to get a hold of several spare mags too.
  16. As it's nearly 2025, it's time to take stock of the last year and how it's been. For me, it's been somewhat of a disappointment on the Airsoft front; with a mix of poor timings and worse weather leading to fewer days out than I've been wanting. In response, I'm looking forward to the new year and hoping to change that! I'm based in the North East, which for me, is not great when it comes to Airsoft. Most of the sites up here have little to interest me which means there's been a lot of travelling on the few times I've been able to get out. Trying to make it a bit more efficient, I'm looking at weekend games, so that I can split up the travelling so I'm not driving 3/4+ hours each way. What sites are there that offer either games on both Saturday and Sunday, and/or allow camping on the night before? Specifically, I'm interested in outdoor sites; woodland and urban. Purely indoor CQB holds little interest to me nowadays. I'm not necessarily talking about specific weekend events/milsims etc. but more towards normal open days, though they aren't to be ruled out. The nearest one to me that offers this is No Man's Land, where they run games on both days of the weekend, and there's also Phoenix Airsoft that does similar, from what I've seen; though I've not been. Is there anywhere that offers what I'm looking for, or am I likely to be out of luck? Anyway, happy new years to you all!
  17. I know Raw War run it as a rule; no 5.56 calibre rifles or below as DMRs.
  18. Also, you're not going to magically get better range or Accuracy just be switching to a gas gun. What ammo do you use currently? Have a look at switching to heavier ammo to start with, as well as maybe cleaning or even replacing your barrel & bucking. If you're struggling with having to fire excessively to get a hit now, then switching to a GBBR is only going to exacerbate this, but with a reduced magazine capacity.
  19. Why not just take your gun to a store and find one that fits?

Looking for a motor with a medium length shaft. Ideally high torque, but it depends on what's out there, I guess!

    £20

  21. This is how it currently is. Not used it in a while though, I have to say. I find DMRs to be kind of awkward, I'm likely to use either a bolt action or a normal AEG more often, I should remedy this in the new year!
  22. I struggled to get any decent performance out of mine with a maple leaf MR or Macaron variant. One of the very basic original 60º Maple leafs seemed to work okay for a while, but not having a range to test it out on, it was a long slow process of 'build up and set for a safe power with no hop' then take it out to a game, set the hop and then test it. Often resulting in being massively under the power limit once I got my hop set for my chosen weight (either 0.32 or 0.36) and then requiring me to come back home, disassemble the gearbox to install a new spring to suit. (Later on I bought an SVD-S that had a quick change spring I could change without taking the gun apart. So much easier!) By now, over a year and a half after originally getting it, I ended up with a 650mm 6.02 tightbore (maybe ZCI, I can't remember?) with a smaller window, and just a basic design bucking. (Laylax 60º blue) That seemed to give a reliable, fairly consistent performance that I just wasn't getting with any of the fancier buckings. Gearbox wise, I got one of the FPS nozzles with o-rings, some piston o rings from @ak2m4 and a guarder M110 that ended up giving me around 1.64J once hop was set.
  23. @ak2m4 with another Christmas miracle!

Ordered some internals for my latest project, not expecting to see them until after Christmas, when they arrived about 15 minutes ago!

    Excellent service as usual 😀

Now, the postman who's seemingly unable to work a doorbell is another matter!

Had to quickly put on some shoes and chase him down the road before he disappeared! 😂

Oh no! The motor doesn't fit! 😩

Apparently it's some sort of weird medium size between a short & long type!

Oh no, is it for a sig ?

  24. Are you chronoing with or without hop up? And does the chrono have fresh batteries? I've had my own struggles with the Cyma SVD, that took a long time to get anywhere near resolving unfortunately!
