  1. Heading to Players of War tomorrow for my first skirmish, right on my doorstep & looking forward to it
  2. it can be attached to my plce belt which will take the weight of both the pistol, holster & my trousers (braces arrived yesterday courtesy of Cadetdirect), the plce in my research was 2 double mag pouches, 1 e-tool carrier, 1 water bottle pouch & 1 utility pouch. As I said my kit has changed every couple of days as I've put too much thought into it & is now kitted out as above. I only ever wore 58 pattern in the TA, so will keep that 100% for any skirmishes in the future, any other webbing I have (too many & osprey mk4 on the way) I'll play about with as it's mostly modular.
  3. I've only bought kit from here but as a buyer & collector I'll usually offer 1/2 the asking price or 1/2 the new price would be, as a seller I'm sure you'll want as close to the price you paid as possible, if you want to sell it fast ask for the min you'd want for it, if you're in no rush then ask for as much as you dare & be willing to negotiate. I've often offered a low price but happy to negotiate with the seller. It's up to the seller if they/you would negotiate or not. I've offered low prices and increased my offer a few times for a RIF recently but the seller stuck to their asking price then I've seen the same item offered at a slightly lower price & bought it instead.
  4. I bought some of these, more than I need but They're cheap enough & I can use them in most of my AEG's including my L85A3 grip. https://www.vapextech.co.uk/airsoft-7-4v-850mah-30c-lipo-battery-with-case-lp007-vapextech
  5. Great advice, I've been looking at chest rigs too but the reality is I'm too tall & round for most of them but I can adjust a belt rig to any size I want, over the past couple of weeks I've set up a set of PLCE to what I consider milspec(in my inexperienced mind) & then proceded to add & remove pouches every few days to save weight & to try not to be an obvious newbie, I've decided to simply set it up to suit myself as I'm gonna be a newbie regardless of what I'm using & the 2 tone Scar gives it away anyway. The advantage of being a fat lad is I can wear dozens of pouches if I wanted but I'd just fill them with crap I don't think I'd need unless I went on a 2 week exercise on Salisbury plain, so... I've fitted a PLCE rig with 2 double ammo pouches for mid cap mags( I've a few high caps but prefer to use mids) 2 water bottle pouches which I'll only fill one bottle & keep the other empty a dump pouch(if needed) & 1 extra double ammo pouch to carry spare lipo's in 1 and a bb bottle in the other. As a fat lad I'm more concerned with my trousers falling to my ankles half way through a game so on my right side I've rigged up leg holster that connects to my trouser belt & a quick release buckle on my plce belt(braces ordered but not yet delivered)... sure my knees & ankles will be aching and heart deciding if it's worth beating for another day, I'll see what kit I actually use on the day and adjust the weight accordingly for my next game day.
  6. Maybe a bit late to this party but if he's only 10 & I'd consider the M4, purely for the adjustable butt.
  7. Does it need to be an airsoft? I got one of these as a wall hanger. https://shootandscoot.co.uk/products/sterling-smg-rubber-prop
  8. Do you still have the two wings & pin to attach the launcher to a rail?
  9. Hi all, I'm a total newbie to airsoft & attending my first skirmish next week, I'm 100% certain I'm going to be over prepared, PLCE, extra mags, a couple of speed loaders too many bb's etc. I'm a chunk so my webbing has more pouches than I'm sure I'll need but my question is... how many 7.4 Lipo's should I bring for an average days playing? As most AEG owners I've an ample supply of batteries for my Rif's and I'll charge & bring a good few but realistically how many should I carry at any time? Thanks in advance.
  10. Considering the concepts designed over the years my only WTF with this is... how the hell are the casings going to eject?
  11. Sorry I only just saw your reply, where did you see the post please? Even tho it'll be long gone.
  12. Just been sighting in my AEG's for my first skirmish & thought I'd share where I plink.
  13. It's a prop from https://shootandscoot.co.uk/ I've bought 3 or 4 props from them.
  14. Where it all started in the mid 90's, there were more but I surrendered them all to the police after the Dunblane massacre. & Where my collection is now, replicas, props & airsoft (mainly AEG's) with room for more. Forgot I have a G36, Scar & a Glock 17 packed up for a skirmish in early June. I've also got manequins ktted out with Uniform & Pattern 58 webbing (styled as how I wore it in the TA in the early 90's), one with PLCE etc from the 2000's, one with DDPM from the 2010's & a growing collection of webbing from pattern 58 to modern day including bergens.
  15. I've bought kit just to play in, all second hand & most of it looks it too, but mainly coz I'm a chunk & I bought it when I saw it. (was 100% my combats fitted me tbh). as for boots, well I reckoned my ankles needed some protection.
  16. Most are polymer or a combination of polymer & metal.
  17. To be fair tho, she's not a fat balding 55yr old. Thanks for the feed back folks, didn't need much arm twisting but I'm feeling better about using the kit I have.
  18. Great point, I'll use a couple of my 2 tones for the first few games to get a read on my gameplay style & once more confident bring out the 'favourites'. Too many if I'm honest, started as a replica L1A1 to match the uniformed maniquin I kitted out in 58 pattern webbing & uniform I wore in the TA & snowballed from there, currently I have 5 snipers, 9 WW11 era, 11 bullpups, 7 SMG's, 2 PDW's, 19 rifles & 9 pistols. Happy to use a G36C or SCAR-L for gaming but I have an L85A3, L86 LSW, a Tavor, FN2000, AUG G2 & a FAMAS I'd hate to damage. 18 are replica's or props & about another dozen are cheap springers or bought as faulty (wallhangers). I don't expect to be an energetic player but who know's... I might do myself more damage than my RIF's.
  19. As a fat 55yr old I doubt much kicking of doors will be happening... or running... or jumping
  20. I consider myself more of a collector but will be joining a few games close to me shortly & not gonna lie... I'm a bit concerned about using some of my collection in game due to the £££ they cost me to buy (mainly wallhangers), I have a few I'll be happy using in game & I know there will be many on here that play using far more valuable RIF's than I own but I'd be devastated if one I prize was to break. I'm well aware they're made to be used, I'm just struggling to justify using a £600+ instead of a £150 one. Am I worried for no reason?
  21. Not a question but... Good job on the cammo
  22. Hi folks, I've got an ICS L86A2 LSW which I openned to change the spring setting, fitted it back together with the usual issues of needing more hands but now it's not working. Sounds fine when pulling the trigger but no power, fuse is fine ad I've stripped it down a couple of times to check all is correct inside but nothing. Is this a known fault or have I messed with it? (or both). Cheers, Gavin.
  23. Need a bit of help if you can? Bought this new last year as a wall hanger and after checking it out (ie looking inside) it now won't fire, I'm going to assume I've nipped a wire while reassembling, has anyone experienced this with this model at all? not a big deal as it's a wall hanger but would be nice if it worked.
  24. I'm a collector, may skirmish in the future tho. It felt morally wrong to keep them, I live just a few miles away at the time. not enough dodgy vinyl for my fat arse.
  25. I had a modest collection of Spring, AEG's & deacivated SMG's, Rifles & pistols in the 90's but surrendered them all after the Dunblane massacre (lived pretty close at the time, & were all perfectly legal), since I'm now a bit older & missing my youth I've done the typical thing of buying loads of vinyl & Military memorabelia including uniforms, webbing, bergens & a ridiculious quantity of airsoft & replica SMG's, rifles & pistols, I'm guessing I'm not alone?
