  1. Silo released a video not too long ago about the same kinda thing. He puts airtags on his now apparently (link below). Sad to think we got to resort to shit like that, but I guess not everybody is community-driven.
  2. To be fair they did very briefly mention the use of camouflage by hunters prior to WW1 but it was just a sentence. It's a fairly well written brief read, though I'm guessing it's acting more as a marketing tool mostly discussing patterns that they sell with a few others. Must say, I'm slightly tempted to try Pencott as a result. The bit on camouflage in the animal kingdom was quite amusing in its simplicity but I think my favourite bit was the TigerStripe pic after all the other camo patterns being presented in actual environments.
  3. Hey guys, Got an email come through from Helikon recently to download a free eBook all about the history of camouflage (mainly Europe). Helikon-Tex Link I haven't read through it all but it's short and quite interesting in a nerdy way. You have to subscribe to the newsletter but it's easy enough to unsubscribe afterwards and I quite like their gear anyway. Screen grab from the back -
  4. Yeah, I just splashed out cos I got sick of having to apologise after accidentally sending off a few more shots than intended. The option to lock to semi or even burst or binary now is awesome. My AUG is the only RIF I use so happy to spend a little more (considering I've had it 15 years or so!). Good luck with your install anyway.
  5. I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but I'm a bit of a noob and other more experienced people here could probably give you a direct answer. With that said, I did recently fit the Perun AUG mosfet to my old TM AUG. I got rid of the trigger bar completely (now magnetic trigger) but not sure what you mean by the cut off lever. Perhaps you could post a picture of what you have. Also, this Youtube vid might help. He breaks into the gearbox around 11 mins or so -
  6. Should've gone to...oh, you did...
  7. The Wehrmacht uniform?! That's one of those quite specific kinks 😉
  8. I ordered from VapexTech not too long ago. Can't remember how long it took but wasn't too long and it did arrive. No dispatch email was sent. Give it a little longer, it should arrive. As far as I could tell, they're about the best battery retailer for UK just now. They have the stock at good price and not mental P&P.
  9. Thought I'd check out the Ambush trailer as I've never even heard of it. That's gone straight into the 'Nope' pile. I was really surprised by The Covenant though. It went very CoD towards the end but it was solid enough with a pretty good message.
  10. Hah! You can even hire a hat on your way from the nearby river fairies!
  11. I really like my Condor Ops chest rig. You can get their pre-set chest rigs for about £60 if that's your range. They do a similar rig to the Bulle above but I like having a bit more MOLLE up front - https://www.military1st.co.uk/mcr6-001-condor-rapid-assault-chest-rig-olive-drab.html I got the un-built one and added my own Flecktarn pouches, along with the "bib" and the hydro harness. Its a great modular platform.
  12. I saw your post on this a while back. I was gonna do it but then plumped for the more expensive option and got myself the Perun AUG ETU/mosfet. Other than cramming the gearbox back in with the cable attachment length connected to the motor it was a breeze to fit and it shoots real nice. But yeah, not a budget option!
  13. I still exclusively use my ancient TM AUG A2 from many moons ago and I love it (has been modernised recently). I can't speak for any of the other brands, but just wanted to drop a note to be mindful of the scope rail. On my TM at least its a Weaver rail as opposed to picatinny. I recently had to Dremel out an extra section to fit my most recent scope purchase.
  14. "Breathing out my arse" 🤣 And as if the expression isn't already funny enough - You may be able to breathe out of your bum, and one day it could save your life
  15. 💪 Fantastic! Congratulations. Roll on number 2?
  16. Sounds like you got the bug. Wish I had your motivation. Currently using kids (non)sleeping patterns as my excuse!
  17. I found this video on Youtube when my dot sight started doing the same thing (barely works at all now!), but it's only useful if you can access that part of the sight. Mine has an AA compartment with no access that I can figure out. Maybe calls for a little possibly-destructive playing about I guess as I'm getting new sights anyway. The dodgy one is from Nuprol (yes I know now, that's why I started a thread looking for buying advice).
  18. Thanks dude! I started thinking about this a little late for my next game day, but it gives me time to find the right kit at least.
  19. And now you're distracting me from my work 😒 Definately prefer the Eotech on the HC but just not sure it'll suit the A2. The reflex is nice too actually and might look cool in front of a magnifier. Hmm...too many choices!
  20. Man that AUG looks sweet but I'm going off the idea of an EOTECH on my A2, think it might be a bit too chunky on that top rail (it's all about the looks right?). And yeah the rail sits a good inch off the top of the rifle already so in terms of profile I'm pushing it a bit. Anything on a riser is way out! I think even the magnifier might be too tall though I think I've seen some lower versions, not sure I want to go down the canted sight route. I'm gonna look into some of the suggestions here and handle the rif a bit to see what might work. Drifting towards Aimpoint style I think. Thanks for the brand suggestions and great advice. I'll let you know what I figure out when I get a minute to check things out.
  21. Hey guys, hoping you can help with a little advice. I want to get a decent red dot/holo sight for my AUG but not too sure what to go for. Requirements - I need something low profile so the market's wide open (sitting atop my AUG A2 rail). I'd like something that will be sufficient if I add a magnifier (flip) later on. If there's a good sight/flip magnifier recommendation I'd totally appreciate it as I might just get both depending on price. Prioritising a decent sight though, sub £100. Are there any brands to avoid? Any especially reliable brands in the lower price bracket?
  22. Thanks @Pijon! I've swapped the scope out for a red dot which suits it far more. Unfortunately the fabric tape has started to peel after just one skirmish so I'll have to figure out something for that. The flecktarn duct tape may hold better but doesn't look quite so nice. Also not sure about the foregrip, think I'll swap that out too. I may find a picatinny extension that slots onto the barrel mount and goes further back to be more like the piece in your original post, then put a new folding handle on maybe. Good luck getting a 3d print, let us see what you end up with!
