  1. Since when was OD, MTP and CB hipster? Well I've done so many loadouts its a joke! Currently I run various African kits, why? because... TIA Bru! This is Effrica!!! But seriously I just like the look and its something different, for choosing a loadout your best bet is just to find a kit you like from whatever source and go for that, after a while you start to realise what good or not or what works for you Here's my List of Loadouts: Current- SADF Infantry 1970s SADF Infantry 1980s (two types) SADF Recce - 1970s Rhodesia/Mozambique SANDF Infantry African Mercenary - Executive Outcomes Sierra Leone and Angola Planned/In Progress- SANDF MONUSCO SANDF MONUSCO Recce Rhodesian Light Infantry (RLI) Previous- UKSF Task Force Black US Army SF US SEAL Early 2000's USMC FR A-TACS FG A-TACS AU Various other less specific loadouts
  2. ICS Vektor R4 Real steal handguard, retainers, sights and sling
  3. CK and Qlimax have polluted this thread with too many rails and tacti-coolness Need to take this back a few years and African it up! ICS Vektor R4 Real steal handguard, retainers, sights and sling
  4. I tend to prefer Lizard pattern over tigerstripe ones, work better in grassier and general UK enviroments
  5. On the tigerstripe front I think it should be mentioned it was a South Vietnamese pattern, not a US one.. as Tacmaster says, US just bought a lot of it privately and the SF did limited purchases from SV companies
  6. I am always really unsure about Tiger stripe not sure if I like it or not..
  7. Finished off my SADF Patt. 70 SADF webbing, even without any kit in the pouches it weighs and absolute ton!

  9. It hardly varies much from site to site a full auto limit of 328-350fps is the norm and there no site which allows snipers to go over 500fps. There is some degree of change with DMRs usually going from 420-450 and MEDs are normally 20-30m so actually there is a lot of consensus on the issue in the UK. You'll find site which tend to attract a younger or less experienced crowd err more on the side of caution than those who attract more established players
  10. just for general info unless the M203 is barrel mounted it won't be correct for any loadout
  11. Deej is your P90 set up as a DMR, as in +350fps? Also why do you keep saying gat?
  12. Interesting point here.. the question is really where do you draw the line.. Now a lot of the time a tap on the shoulder is allowed as you have a gun so its a nicer way of not hitting people but I've entered rooms and been able to shoot with one have on the rifle while I take the other and "knife kill" a guy. no in reality unless I was holding a knife on my handguard there is no way I could have achieved that kill but under airsoft its perfectly okay. I think a lot depends on the site and what kind of people usually play at the site. If its one where theres usually a lot of new players then a tap on the shoulder is fine but at sites who play a bit more seriously and certainly milsims only knives should be allowed to take knife kills On your last point I can sympathise with guns going half way through games and then not being able to do a lot. If I were you I would have tried to knife people but obviously thats more difficult. I normally take the realism route of it but still recognising the fact airsoft guns are far more unpredictable than real guns, if for the MED situation I would take it, but if someones mag is out of their gun then I wouldn't
  13. Fair enough.. you'd be better doing a black hawk down or panama type delta loadout with the CAR-15
  14. If I was properly doing a milsim where I was SADF, especially Recce I would black face and for a woodland weekender milsim I might but for normal games I wouldn't bother
  15. . Now thats most likely down to the vest not the lack of MOLLE. As is the case with many rigs, even MOLLE, you need one that suits you and if you don't no amount of MOLLE will help that I have also tended to note that people will usually put the pouches on a MOLLE rig basically in the same place as non-MOLLE rigs but with little change.. for instance I be the location of mag pouches on a low profile chest rig will most likely be the same as they are on my M83 chest rig. Pouches on my MOLLE belt rig are basically in the same places as they would be on PLCE As said thats the point of this thread One point I feel hasn't be pointed out yet is that fact non MOLLE rigs do tend to be lighter and have a lower profile as you don't have the layer of material used the attach items. However, for plate carriers I would probably suggest MOLLE, especially if they're being issued as you don't need to provide different carriers for different roles
  16. Most sites I play at the make sure people who are using snipers or DMRs make themselves known to marhsalls and sometimes they do a distance judging test to make sure they're safe. If one was to break the MED on purpose and obviously it would not be taken well by site marshalls and will likely result in that person being ejected form site
  17. Seems a good price, but you'll notice the difference between ranger and olive green
  18. Haha well I'm 5'8 and about 11st 10 (38inch chest) and I need to have a PACA under a MBSS for it to fit properly so it will likely be too big for you. Your best bet is go with a WAS DCS or the original LBT version as they fit smaller frames well Probably your best bet considering the bases are usually £110 http://uktactical.com/p-9509-elite-ops-dcs-plate-carrier-with-3-x-quick-mags-od.aspx
  19. I would hardly call that an elephant in the room.... There are jokes about DMRs being "ego extenders" but thats the same for many other roles like snipers, grenadiers and also machine gunners and its banter. You clearly have it in for milsimmers so why don't you leave it out of the thread as its not what this is about.. if you want to rant about people wearing real kit go make another thread for it As for DMRs I would say they are a very useful asset to a team, as much if not more than a sniper.. I would always encourage people to try their best to keep to the 350fps so you can still use your rifle when the enemy comes close. The vastly increased firepower associated with DMRs means they tend to be better for FIBUA ops than a bolt action rifle I should also add that many sites only allow real world DMRs (or close to) to be used as such so they will not allow a stupidly upgraded MP5K for example but a Mk.12 mock on a M16 would be fine although items like a magnified scope and bi-pod are expected DMR: Not a DMR:
  20. I had a MBSS, they good rigs but unless you're a larger gentleman you'll need to have plates underneath.. also a belt helps a lot as their carrying capacity isn't great Have you thought about going down the chest rig route? RRV style rigs (WAS 901s) are really good lightweight rigs which offer a nice amount of carrying capacity and far less cumbersome than a plate carrier
  21. So much this, more on a general point
  22. OP, what kind of rig are you looking for? as we might be able to find you a decent rig from a good manufacturer
  23. Condor are average, they're unlikely to fall apart from airsoft (although stories have surfaced form the US of that happening) but for the price you can get better.. they're probably better than Bulle but not as good as WAS Flyye are probably one of the best clone gear makes out there.. I've had a fair bit and hold up incredibly well. As a testament I was talking to a guy from the SANDF who has just gotten back from the Congo and he said that Flyye is by far the most popular brand for private purchase, even being used by the Recces (SA SF) Out of those two I would easily go with Flyye!
