  1. did just that, I was more surprised that more dust didn't come out. this thing is a dust magnet. will consider taking it to a tech (or burning it) if it does not work tomorrow...
  2. Cool down is one thing I considered, as it have show tendencies to it in the past... but I've waited several hours now... can't imagine the battery being the fault as it is plugged in. how do I unstuck a fan? I seem to remember it having similar problems before thou and working later without having to do anything. maybe I should try again tomorrow.
  3. not at all concerned about the "realism" (wont go into that debate here). but think it technically would work as one?
  4. Monty is a cat and that would be a good starting one.
  5. so my laptop just turned off without a warning. like someone cut the power to it. waited a minute, put it on again, it stayed on for a minute before doing the same thing and now it wont start. Nothing what so ever happens when I press the power button.... any ideas?
  6. sure, but the ones that does costs more, so if the ACOG is better...... *found a pic of an ACOGed SVD!
  7. So after a fair bit of thinking, I think maybe this is the gun I am looking for. Basically I want a workhorse that still got a fair amount of precision.. more than a fair amount at this price as a matter in fact. the plan is to have this as my main, and have a CYMA workhorse as spare gun. as well as a CQB friendly pistol for when entering building. oh and the FPS limits here are slight different, nothing to worry about in this topic. Will the Real Sword SVD be a good DMR / counter-sniper out of the box or does it need upgrades? in that case witch? The alternative I am thinking is Type 56.. witch would be used in the same roll. I am guessing this would need to be upgraded and have the barrel extended with a mock silencer? slight advantage here would be that I can use my current rig/mags. oh and as for optic. I am thinking a G&P x4 acog with red dot? seem very pleasant to aim with, and can be used similarly to a red dot sight if needed. alternative would be the Real Sword PSO-1 M2, looks the part, but seem less practical and more expensive. any other suggestions? so yea... talk me into or out of getting a RS SVD!
  8. cold steel is plastic (or something similar) and not meant for airsoft. not saying you cant use them, but they are a bit more limiting than the rubber ones that are made for airsoft. as to where you can get one for £6.. haven't got a clue.
  9. So the overall conclusion seem to be that there was no clear right or wrong in his situation. Rather it is up to the two involved parts and/or the site owners / marshals?
  10. Did you edit this post or did my viewer not load the first dot first time I reed it? made your post very confusing either way XD
  11. Umarex is a rebrander. so if the maker of your umarex is a good maker, excellent! if not... well. Only had one first hand experience thou, that was my brothers mp7, which... didn't work^^
  12. Very good point. are you sure about this? I am a dyslexic and might have missed something, but this could potentially make the difference between if it was wrong or not.
  13. no. afraid you're wrong there. If I wanted to cause you pain, shooting you with plastic bullets at one joule would not be my first choice. It is however a necessary part of the sport. I've participated in pain games, but only with other people who like me are dumb enough to to participate.
  14. seen someone in a game here with a retractable ladder on their back. actually a cool idea. thou might be a bit dangerous. as for a short ladder.. I climb thru windows, but I know many that cant, a short ladder could give them a massive advantage...
  15. No it is not any good for starting out. dont get WELL, dont get from bbguns4less. G&G CM as mentioned above is a good option for someone who is starting at a budget. better save up and get something that wont fall to pieces.
  16. Not in comment on OP: I never been unhappy that someone bang killed me. Bang "rule" really is just about decency. So if someone is in a situation where he clearly would be able to hit you (for example he is 3 meter being you, unnoticed by you, with an AEG aimed at you), he chooses to be decent and not afflict you unnecessary pain. Then surely you want to punish him for his kindness, rather show that you are also decent? A friend once used it inappropriate on me (face-to-face cqb). This was the first time he played however. I can't remember if I took the hit or not. But I did explain to him afterwards why it was inappropriate, and he was cool with that.
  17. Technically, he could easily have made his hand into a pistol and said bang. So since you're asking: I think you did wrong, and that it was a pretty indecent move. On top of that "when in doubt - take the hit". Really you should consider yourself lucky he didn't shot you after that. I wouldn't but I wouldn't blame him if he did either. Personally if I was the sniper I would at least insist on your taking your hit. However, we're only human and should not haste to judge.
  18. WE gen. 4 suppose to be pretty decent?

some do use Fahrenheit. seeing how the English use imperial measures, why not? but anyway, fair enough.

  19. I'd stay with recognised brands if I where you. There is plenty of good guns out there and buying a gun just to find out it's not what you expected sucks. I THINK I've heard in another thread, here or on that other forum, that they are suppose to be no good, but nothing I can confirm.
  20. I suppose the main reason I see is standardisation. there's great advantages in everyone, players and manufacturers, using the same system. especially if it's one that works. My rig is just one with 3 fixed mag pouches, behind it a pocket (where I put 2 mags) and some molle on each side. dump pouch attached on left (not even sure if it is molle??) and a single 3mag pouch attached on the right. before that I had a bit more complex assault vest. almost no molle, just 6 mag pouches and 3 utility pouches on the front. on the back it had something I could attach molle things to, but not sure if it actually was molle. in either case, the vest worked excellent.
  21. would disagree about the best 1911 being tm. fact that you need to buy separate metal slide / frame, and just seen to many ones malfunction. after all they are designed to be used with dustergas!! much better of with KWA imo. I do agree to wait to get a sidearm thou. most people never need them and have to make a point of using them if they are ever to be used. better getting a backup AEG first (sucks when something goes wrong and you cant play) and I'd say add a good pair of boots and kneepads to the list. safety first!
