  1. Should get onto them! They should replace those controllers if you are having issues.
  2. If you don't mind using a facebook account then I would recommend the Quest 2 is best for price (as a quest 2 user myself). Can be used standalone without a computer or you can just connect it to your PC witha USB cable (one long enough haha) and play your VR games from your steam library etc
  3. This was a brilliant day with decent gamemodes! Kudos to Carl and the other marshalls!
  4. I would recommend going rental and having an AEG first time round. Sniping is an aquired taste when it comes to using it at an airsoft field combined with the minimum engagement rules, you might not get the full feel of airsoft by going sniper first time round and could find it "boring" or too slow. If you like the look of it from youtube/fb videos, just remember it takes those guys a whole day / weekend to get enough "hit" footage to fit a video a few mins long.
  5. Great stuff, hopefully you'll have a good game and get into it!
  6. You've got Bassett's Pole right on your door. https://playairsoft.uk/sites/west-midlands/fireball-squadron/ https://www.npfbassettspole.com/airsoft/airsoft-skirmish
  7. Hi mate, welcome to the forum. 25 is still classed as "young" in this hobby, so you'll be fine (I started when I was 33). Where in the Midlands are you based? I would have a read in this forum category, taking note of the pinned topics that will help you get a feel of what to expect from the community and the hobby in general. General concensus is to go Rental first and see if the hobby is for your liking before spending money on kit. Take a look at @GAMBLE's channel, tailored more for the beginners if you perfer watching videos: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A/videos
  8. Welcome to the forum @Buck3131 Looks like you doing it the right way, rental first instead of "all the gear and no idea" I wouldnt worry about meeting up with anyone from here, I've found most people at games are approchable and some even let you have a feel and take a few plinks with their guns. (insert fast show "ooooohhhhhhh, suit you sir" here) While you are waiting for your first game, give @GAMBLE's channel a view, specially aimed towards to new players: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCL-V_yVApaCpm096XBAQE1A/videos
  9. Yeah would recommend what @Rogerborg said. Sniping might look "cool" when you see it on youtube or fb videos, but its an aquired taste and it takes those guys that film a whole day / weekend to get enough "hit" footage to fit a video a few mins long.

Sure you can mention me, buddy. I'm 6ft 2, average build floating towards the dad bod, and I don't know if it's cuz I've hit mid 30s but I've noticed I've started to sweat more than a glassblowers arse while doing exercise! I've kept off the sugar loaded fizzy drinks, hence why the coke zero I took the following month did naff all! Would recommend the raspberry lucozade sport over the orange tho ??

One of the things I found during my first few games is that I was finishing the day with a headache, although I was packing litres of water away during the day and having lunch. Unfortunately water doesn't replace the electrolytes you use during the game and lose through sweating. I take a 4 pack of lucozade sport now, as they were my go to drink when I used to play football, finish the day headache free now!
  12. Was about to post this, experienced a bit of it myself when I first started playing ?
  13. Has anyone tried messaging @proffrink directly?
  14. Surely its got to be a high cap that requires you to take the mag out to wind the wheel every 5 rounds ?
  15. Repping the forum patch, last Sunday ??Screenshot_20210918_172203_com.android.gallery3d_edit_186267360870015.thumb.jpg.7d892ab74e76f1eda40bcaf23e320d28.jpg

Looks like you'll all be getting your badges after all! ?

  16. Welcome to the forum dude. I think you should go along and get a few games under your belt too My kids are still young (8 and 5) but I plan on dragging them along when old enough haha.
  17. I tried a cam once, but on a shoulder mount, it was crap, however it did manage to capture me doing quite an loud and aggressive fart to which a nearby team member turned around and was like "WTF was that?!" I'm in the same boat, I don't plan on uploading it anywhere or starting a youtube channel, just to capture some memories, so will probably try a head mount next time, I just don't fancy wearing a helmet ?
  18. My first pew pew! Been playing with it in the garden and consistently doing 335fps on the chrono, hopefully it being an Ares I've got one of the rare ones that work ? You really do fall down a rabbit hole after buying your first gun...... batteries, chargers, sights, mags.... My bank looking at me like.... Good news is that I will get to skirmish it on the 12th Sept.
  19. Finally settled on a gun, although not the one I first set my eye on.

I had my heart set on the specna arms edge E-11 but been out of stock for weeks with no foreseeable restock before my next game.

So went with the last Ares Amoeba AM-008 patrol base had in stock, and although I was looking to spend a bit more, at £145, I can't complain, as I plan of this being the one I tinker with when I buy more ?

Will be breaking it in at @Ace Airsoft War Games on the 12th September, so to the usual guys, see ya there ?

Ares is one of the "send to Luke at Negative Airsoft to fix" brands, in my mind.  Hopefully that won't apply to your example.

      Maybe should have got a p90 @Rogerborg..... ?

Nah joking aside, I do plan on this being the one I piss about with and getting inside of, just one of my querks of being engineer ?

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll see a post from me when I get a bit stuck.

  20. Another great day at @Ace Airsoft War Games yesterday and the weather didnt seem to put a damper on things!

It was a special day for me yesterday, as it was my final game as a rental and while typing this out I just had my UKARA sent through... I don't think my bank account is going to be very happy with me this month.....

Also, shout out to @strykerles for bailing my brother out with a spare face mask on the day, appreciate it mate!

Shame you missed it buddy, some really good gamemodes we're played considering we were on the lost kingdom map all day due to a paintball event.

Also agree, Carl is a top bloke ?

  21. Booked in at @Ace Airsoft War Games on the 4th of July, which means I can finally get my UKARA number sorted!

  22. Dabbled with VR since I had a Oculus DK2, then used a PSVR with NoloVR controllers for a while until I got my Quest 2. Tried my mates Index, FOV (120 Index vs 90 Quest) and Refresh Rate (144 Index vs 120 Quest (recently added)) is higher than the Quest 2, but text looks sharper on the Quest 2 due to the higher res screen. I like the fact the Quest 2 can be just be used anywhere, either wireless or wired, without the use of base stations etc. I mainly play wired to PC for Steam VR. Played a bit of Phasmaphobia (which is a bit intense when first playing), Elite Dangerous, RE games using FPS mod/VorpX and Pavlov on the odd occasions with mates, normally pissing about on Prop Hunt or Zombie Mods. Currently going through the chapters on Half Life: Alyx, such a good polished VR game.
  23. So after buying strapped knee pads that keep sliding down and pissing me off, I realised that I had the pouches on my camo to place knee and elbow pads, they came yesterday and couldnt be happier with them. Get the try them out next weekend
  24. Another game booked in at @Ace Airsoft War Games on the 6th June ?

  25. Was good meeting up with you buddy! Hopefully the knee gets on the mend for next time!
